Everything is bigger...

Yesterday, my computer went black for a few seconds (no loss of power or whatever it is) and then is is relit.  When he did, EVERYTHING was bigger - fonts, icons, etc.  Everything is in "extended" mode, that is to say, I have to scroll sideways to see it all.  It's everything - my office, e-mail, etc.    It drives me crazy.   How can I fix it?     It is without doubt a very easy solution, but I'm not computer savvy.

Any help will be appreciated.  Thank you!

PS I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista.    Also did not know what topic to submit this question to.

Suggestions:

1 do a system restore. Choose a date where you did NOT have this problem as your restore point.

    Hello

Right click on desktop - customize - display settings - Set resolution.

Right click on desktop - customize - top left adjust font size (DPI)

CTRL + mouse wheel works ZOOM

CTRL + and CTRL - work ZOOM in and out

Your mouse/touchpad probably incorporates a ZOOM to it.

Your system also has a magnifier built in which could be a problem - it can also often be programmed to work
    on mouse/keyboards.

To see if your mouse/touchpad is set to ZOOM or enlarge use Control Panel - mouse.

When I turned on my computer, my desktop icons are much larger than they should be.  If you go online, you cannot see the entire page because everything is so great.  I tried to do a system restore, and it does not work.  Also, my icon of recycle bin is out of the office.  Can someone help me with this problem?

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

    Then:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

Hello, firefox 22 is now about the density of pixels you have upgraded to system in Control Panel > appearance > display. more information about this is available at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/make-the-text-on-your-screen-larger-or-smaller

If you want to set the text size/pixel density in firefox is different that your system settings as it has been addressed in previous versions, enter about: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named layout.css.devPixelsPerPx. Double-click it and change its value to 1.0 (or any zoom factor that suits your needs; -1.0 is the default and will respect the parameters of the system).

  • Toshiba 42WL863G: stretched 3D content using resolution 1920 x 800

    There is a problem with playback of content 3D SBS USB HD resolution 1920 x 800 (i.e. not 1920 x 1080).

When activating 3D playbeck the image is stretched format full screen, and so everything is bigger / thinner that should be.

Playing normal content (no 3D) resolution 1920 x 800 works correctly (black below / above).
During the transition to 3D scratches disappear and the image is stretched vertically relative to the size of the screen.

Playing the same content (via USB) on my BD Player (Philips BD8000) gives good results without streching.

Will there be a future solution for this problem?

I guess that this happens because the internal s TV media player goes full screen and full hd while playing 3D content.
Since you're using the resolution of 1920 x 800 rare (Full HD must be 1920 x 1080) the content all seems tense.

I think that to avoid this 'effect', you would need to play movies in HD (1024 x 720) 3D or FHD (1920 x 1020)

  • HP Pavilion a1310y: can not find the drivers for Pavilion a1310y on Win 7

    Hello world

I installed my mother HP Pavilion a1310y to Windows 7 Pro. It works great except for what seems to me to be pilots. The audio does not work and the screen is the thing where everything is bigger and looks like he needs an update.
On-site HP and HP support assistant, I don't know these drivers especially for my version of windows. Is there an external source?

    Hello:

The graphics card has your PC cannot run all the features of W7.

I can give you a driver that will allow you to change the resolution of the screen and have the graphics acceleration, but you don't have windows aero because the integrated graphics card Intel cannot run it.

Download and run this driver.   You will get an error not supported operating system.  Conclusion of any windows error.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp34501-35000/sp34749.exe

Go to Device Manager and it will already be a labeled device video controller with one! Mark in the category other devices, or if you do not see such a device, click to expand the category of graphics device and you will see a Standard VGA adapter.

Click on one of those you visit.

Click the driver tab.   Click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the graphic driver file.

This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp34749.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC and graphics must work as if it was on XP.

  • Loss of Internet and Windows features limited after a clean install of Windows 7

    Hi all

Here's a bit of context. I had an additional Lenovo T410 sitting around, so I tried restoring it to its "factory condition" by a start-up "format". Plan was to boot from the CD drive and reinstall Windows 7 (32 bit) in the process. However, disaster, after the process complete, I'm now stuck in a kind of safe mode (everything is bigger than usual) and the computer is running several pilots. I manually installed the network card driver (can identify networking but cannot connect to the internet). Device Manager still shows device Base system, controller, Ethernet, Serial Port PCI, PCI Simple Communications Controller and unknown to be updated device drivers.

My goals here are to 1) restore internet connectivity and 2) make all the features of Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Thank you for any input!

    * Virtual H.o.t. If you stuck with me through this whole explanation.

Lenovo.com connect on another computer, click Help, enter your computer type and download the network drivers for your machine. Then return to the page to download the driver to your computer and download ThinkVantage System Update. Run this and it will update automatically the rest of your hardware drivers (see the post of Zoltan, above).

My kids were playing on the computer and before my windows fit perfectly, but now everything is bigger and do not fit properly. How can I fix it? I have tried everything I know!

  • Issues with the display settings - all super tiny

I have problems with the display settings, all of a sudden, everything was super great and difficult to see all the toolbars on the screen, I went to the settings display, and somehow managed to make everything incredibly tiny.  I found a page via the display settings (avancΘs?) that allowed me to adjust the percentage of the elements on the screen.  I reduced to 40%, and then the setting stuck and now I can not see or read anything.  I'm trying to return to the display settings, but I can't find this 'page' which allowed me to make this change.

    I saw a similar post:

    Hello

There are a few things you can try:

    1. reboot the PC then start tapping the F8 key until you get the Windows Advanced on-screen Menu of Options.

Then choose "last good known Configuration". Allow Windows to start.

    2. restart PC then start tapping the F8 key until you get the Windows Advanced on-screen Menu of Options.

Then choose "Enable VGA Mode". Windows XP loads with the color values that can handle your "lower" resolution and display driver Once in Windows, change the resolution, then restart the PC.

    3. try to go into "Safe Mode", which is accessible in the same way as "VGA Mode". "Review the same routine as no. 2.

I tried to hit F8, but nothing happens, I tried to reboot several times.  How do the Advanced Options?  Someone knows it the screen that I talk with the possibility of adjusting the percentages, how can I find it again?  So I can not really read or see anything.
