Evil blackBerry smartphones set up outlook

I just bought a blackberry 8330.  I have tried sync my bb with outlook upward. Ok installed Desktop Manager and I have the 2007 version of outlook, but when I went to set up Desktop Manager and add my calendar, my computer couldn't find Outlook as one of the configuration options.  He finds one couple of other things under the calendar but not outlook.  I tried to reinstall microsoft office 2007 with outlook and I tried to set it up again and it still does not find outlook.  According to the procedure I found online, Desktop Manager should automatically find outlook, what is not on my computer. Ideas for what could be wrong? Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi and welcome to the forums!

You have the same email on Blackberry and on the PC, both are by default?

On the BB, see options by default/options/advanced services. Make sure that the other stuff and CICAL associated

with your primary e-mail address. Go to Outlook, tools, e-mail accounts and check there.

If you find a mismatch, try configuring again. If you do not check your MAPI interface as

listed in the attached link.

Let us know how it goes!

Thank you

Both will result in the same thing...

BB device - usually, it's in the configuration > e-mail settings

From a PC, use the links I've provided above.

I, myself, it is much easier to use a web browser and PC... Size screen and keyboard and all. In addition, configuration assistants, I mentioned above will not work unless you do from the PC you are currently using for Outlook. If you make the BB, you will have to manually type all parameters.

That said, you should always do this, even from PC - Wizard does not always work. But, you can at least be able to look at settings in Outlook, and then type (or, better yet, copy and paste!) them in the BIS forms. One thing that will thwart you, however - your password. I don't know if the wizards are able to get that... I hope that they CAN get the password! You will therefore need to know it... and there is no way around that.

  • Email to blackBerry Smartphones will only outlook when outlook is open. Never goes to the device

    BIS user

Is - this normal for enamel, not to go to BB never when outlook opens on pop3?

Also my wireless sync is turned on but doesn't seem to work... direct me!

    1. it is quite normal IF you have your Outlook is misconfigured.

    See the solution below.

    2. Wireless Sync... If you are on a BIS account staff, there are no wireless sync.

You are on a business or employer provided device account BES?

IF you use Outlook to download your email on your desktop PC, Outlook is probably "remove" mail from your email server when it downloads on your PC.

There is a setting in Outlook to "Leave Messages on server".

    For MS Outlook 2003:
    1. Outlook > tools > e-mail accounts > view or change existing > next.
    2. Select the e-mail account > change > additional settings.
    3. Advanced tab > leave a copy of Messages on the server
    4. check this box.

    * You will need to make this change for each Outlook e-mail account, you have.

Other versions of Outlook have a similar setting, although it can be found in a slightly different place of the: Advanced settings.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Newbie question Outlook synchronization...

I know, I know you crackberry Masters must make fun of my basic question, but it drives me crazy.

I want to curve. I'll use it for personal and business email accounts. Work email is through MS Exchange. I can access my email using Microsoft Outlook Web Access. Our server does not have this fancy/expensive Blackberry Enterprise Software Solution.

Can I still sync my email to my Blackberry Wireless and untethered work? What are the downsides to not have the fancy software / expensive?

You'll be always my friend, if you can answer this fundamental question in simple terms.

    Hi anrobb!

You will be able to receive your email wireless without the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution (BES). You can use the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) to deliver your email. There are two ways this can be accomplished:

1-direct integration of your account Outlook Web Access (OWA). Here, you must create an BIS account and enter your information to OWA, such as the web address of the OWA server, your email address, mailbox name and password. BIS will use this information to analyze your mailbox for new messages at a time interval determined (basically every 15 minutes) and send it to all new mail he sees to your BlackBerry.

    2. create a hosted mailbox and set up a redirection rule. Most (if not all) carriers offer only a free hosted BlackBerry e-mail address when you have a BlackBerry plan. For example, a customer of Verizon could create an email [email protected]. E-mail messages that are sent to these hosted email addresses are pushed to the device, so they come almost in real time. Once you have set up, hosted email address you (or your IT staff) define a redirection rule in your mail server to forward a copy of all new messages to the hosted e-mail address. The next step would be to connect to your BIS account and modify the reply-to field to be your professional email address. This it will bring up that the emails sent from your BlackBerry come from your work email.

A difference in the use of the use of BIS on BES is that you cannot synchronize wireless your address book, calendar, notes and them tasks with BIS - you will need to connect to a computer. BES offers many other features as well, but I won't get it here.

  • Sync blackBerry Smartphone Email - MS Outlook 2003

BB Curve 8900 with two email addresses.  The two addresses seem to have been properly introduced when configuring synchronization... which is, they both appear on the device and the two send/receive messages.  The reception section is selective, however.  A group of six emails received during the night from the same source, two only arrived on the device (all six arrived on the PC).

    Thoughts?

-Outlook takes care to leave a copy of messages on the mail server as per:http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB12283

If not; set up and watching him work.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Notes in Outlook/equipment and / PC

I do not receive my notes to transfer anyway in my Outlook calendar. For ex: I have a set of apt and in the body of this appointment, I made notes. They do not appear on Blackberry and vice versa. I used to have this way feature back when you use the Centros.

    Please notify

Comments in my section of calendar notes synchronizes back and I think that the only restriction is the length of the note field, I do not remember the limitation of size, could be something like 128 or 256 characters.

In your configuration synchronization and configuration, check to make sure that your calendar field mapping is set correctly.

Yes, I searched on "filters bis" and this has been the first element:

  • Verification email of site blackBerry Smartphones that use Outlook Web Access Lite

I just got a Blackberry 8330 and the need to use it for the electronic control of my company's e-mail server.

It turns out that this server uses Outlook Web Access lite. I am currently not able to check the mail that I am

get errors saying that the browser must accept cookies. Also something about scripting.

Does anyone know how to get around this problem?

I don't want to 'integrate' this email account and I get messages pushed to Blackberry - only to be able to

access the site of the email and check email.

    Solutions please!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

It actually maybe not a cookie issue... since I access OWA as you wish (I integrate via BIS... very slippery!), I can only guess.

In the browser, click on the BBKey and select Options. There is a ton of different options, including one that allows your browser to BB identify on a website in IE, FF or BB... being the default, of course, BB. If you change IE, you might have more luck. This setting is located in the screen of Configuration of the browser and is usually called the browser Identification.

There are also many other settings that may be useful... basically, you need to tinker with them until you find a combination that works for your particular situation. But I would try the browser ID/emulation first.

    ;-)

on the first screen: BlackBerry enterprise server Server = BES.

and BIS can be seen on the homepage of the current forum: BlackBerry Internet Service = BIS.

For a BlackBerry, you can receive emails through BES or BIS.

I found a recent discussion on your exact problem: "determinant configuration root name" followed by the error unknown intellisync. The user has a German DM6 facility, but the resolution is explained in English. Read the entire discussion.

I use Vodafone with EA Mobile 4 G Wifi,

Hello and welcome to the community

You must enter any of the configuration section 'Enterprise '. Rather use the BB exclusive services (including the ability to Push email, BBM, etc), you must have an adequate data of your carrier plan. Carriers BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) host for their BB users. In general, BIS is not available through generic data plans. Several ships make stop what is needed the Blackberry data plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier that delivers BIS users of BB - contact - the for assistance. Once you have an email Push-enabled compatible BIS data plan on your BB (fees regardless of your carrier will charge, btw), your exclusive services BB will work (for example, you will have a staff/Internet Email added to the email Setup Wizard, your BBM will work, etc.).

With hundreds of carriers in the world, each with dozens of different data plans it is impossible to say that any plan service could actually expressly provide for. Only carriers can answer this question. The best thing to do is to decide what services you want and then talk to your carrier about obtaining a data plan that allows what you want (to them).

    Good luck!

Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

You have to, to get the push RIM email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

    Good luck.
