  I am quite at a loss here. Has written a book in Word 07, using fonts, I worked to find to express what I wanted to and put graphics in Word documents and text wrapped around those. Therefore, as I have tried to import anything, I'm constantly interrupted by fonts missing problem (I copied word folder of fonts in InDesign, always stayed problem fonts folder), I said yes to the replacement of similar fonts, I said okay, yet pages appear with the missing text. In addition, it seems now that I'll have to remove the images of the documents Word and everything just import the Word text in InDesign and then place the graphic? I have about 200 pages into Word. I don't know how to start and organize. I start a document pg 200, import as many gaps as I can, then moves to a panel of book? I'm afraid so if I sync at the end it will be unformat all previous work that. The goal is to have the book online on a website (I've not yet started) where people can peruse the pages (such as the spread of left and right) and decide to buy and download, but also want it's interactive with music, etc and finally to be able to perform as well to mobile devices. Help!  I have looked everywhere Lynda.com, Adobe TV, with support yesterday with Adobe (India) and took a few Adobe course extremely condensed - all that was far too much unnecessary information to start practically.   Altogether.

  When you import the word document, you can preserve the formatting Word, throw everything or previously defined mapping Word styles to InDesign styles. Select Show Import Options in the Place dialog box.

  Normal professional workflow (in the real world) is that the author uses Word to write the manuscript. Author knows generally little or nothing of typesettinga nd good use of styles, then everything is made under conditions normal (usually in Times or Times New Roman) with many local formatting.

  Typographer receives the manuscript and the place in the code. Because it is presumed that the formatting is what the author intends, at least for starters, styles Word and formatting are preserved during the import. Then it gets cleaned up.

  Jongware and some others, have clever scripts (he'll probably post a link to it for you) that run a series of find/replace operations that get things like the words in italics or "BOLD", then their assign a style so the formatting can be retained when other changes, such as changing the police to something a little more enjoyable for your book Remove empty paragraphs and extra spaces that should be handled by the spacing of paragraphs and a bunch of other small tasks of cleaning, and enough little time, you can take a document Word completely informal and put it in a beautifully structured InDesign document where all the text with this style through it all redefine a style fixes.

  I cropped on the bottom of an image in Photohop (CS3) and then placed the image in an ad I design in Indesign.  Although the background is transparent, supposedly, it makes my black graphics in Indesign a shade darker... Anyone know what I am doing wrong?  I noticed this after I printed the Indesin document in PDF format... So I don't know if I do something wrong in Photoshop, Indesign, or when printing to PDF.

  You place a PS RGB document in Indesign, but your fusion of Indesign transparency space is CMYK. If you replace that working RGB (assuming that your color on settings are synched together on all applications), you should see a better overview.   Not exactly. It stores data in an ASCII ' Tab/return' file (assuming that you do not change the separator). Means that the file can be opened by any text editor. Including Word and Excel.

  If you want to open the file directly with Excel (or Word) with a simple double click, then simply add .xls (or .doc) as the file name extension.

  If you use the .txt extension, there are chances that your case will be opened by Notepad.

  I need assistance with formatting of the AXIS on a chart in Word using Labview.  In my situation, I have reading data like this:

  0,0033

  0.0003

  0,0203

  Etc...

  I need FOUR decimal places to display correctly the numbers.

  When I run through Labview and Word... All I get is ZEROS through my axis.

  

  If I double click on the AXIS (in Word) and go to the properties of the "Number" tab and CHANGE 'General' to 'NUMBER' and define the "third DECIMAL' to '4 '.

  The graph looks EXACTLY as I want it to look:

  After you apply the Word AXIS settings manually is formatted perfect!  I have 4 decimal places correct points for my data.

  NOW, the Question...

  How to use the "Set Word chart Font.vi" for formatting the axis with four decimals?

  I tried the combination of countless, and I can't seem to make it work.  I even called Tech OR supported and they have a little "shrugged" their shoulders and referred me to a file 'help '.

  I may have this wrong approach, but my goal is to use a 'model Word' and "To generate a report of Doc Word" without going through the user for formatting the chart MANUALLY.

  Here's a sample of what, in my view, have to work... but I can't seem to find a combination of work.

  The help file "Word Set Graph Font.vi ' is not too useful.  But I found the combination that works!

  

  Here is the example code that worked:

  

  What is difficult about the file "help":

  "(general) number format.  For me, I thought he was referring to categories of Word... THAT IS... General, number, currency, etc.

  Help Help Help?  I'm almost my deadline and my Epub keeps getting rejected by printers because the fonts are not included.  I went and changed some of the fonts receives errors, while they are now open type/True type fonts... and are very good.  However, I still have 13 errors appear, indicating that my graphic fonts are not compatible.  I have not all fonts in my graphics and can't change that. The button is grey when I try, so he won't let me.  I need help, because I was not able to contact Adobe, and my deadline is drawing near.  Thank you very much.

  If I understand correctly, you need the linked file so it can be updated instead of "Placés" and formatted again.  Check this box in preferences management InDesign files, and then, when the Word Doc changes occur, use "Update link" in the links palette

  Problems by placing a file have (eps) in Photoshop and InDesign, and maintaining the original look. For some reason any graphic design is the insertion contours arournd parts of the chart, but only when place. If I open in AI and copy + paste it into Photoshop, it seems. Copy + paste into Id however does not...

  I discovered I can recreate this look in artificial intelligence by selecting the image by clicking on ' object > flatten transparency "."

  I instered a screenshot below to give you an idea of what I mean. I think it has something to do with some of the "Aesthetic" effects that I use. There's a subtle shadow and feathers degraded in the graph.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  OK, Larry. I can recreate the question. Would have been faster with an example of file .

  In ID when using place, I don't get the problem. It only happens here, if I use copy / paste - something I can never remember you use in ID except to help people.

  The reason why I asked about the PDF document or a print is I thought that the problem was a problem of stictching. And it is. In the PDF file, the lines but if you show zoom you will notice lines never get larger. For example, if printing ID or a PDF file, the lines are not there.

  The injection lines are the result of shadow on the letters. This causes a part of the image is a bitmap image.

  The Summit is the file placed in the code. The background is the copy & paste.
