Transparent background in photoshop darkens graphics in indesign

I cropped on the bottom of an image in Photohop (CS3) and then placed the image in an ad I design in Indesign.  Although the background is transparent, supposedly, it makes my black graphics in Indesign a shade darker... Anyone know what I am doing wrong?  I noticed this after I printed the Indesin document in PDF format... So I don't know if I do something wrong in Photoshop, Indesign, or when printing to PDF.

You place a PS RGB document in Indesign, but your fusion of Indesign transparency space is CMYK. If you replace that working RGB (assuming that your color on settings are synched together on all applications), you should see a better overview. See http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/creativesuite/articles/cs3ip_transp_25.html for more details.

  • Transparent background is white when placed in InDesign

    SC5 I v. 15.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.8

I never had this problem before. I have very simple work in Illustrator and seen with the grid of transparency on this subject shows as black with no background color.

In InDesign (CS5 v. 7.0.4) it comes up with a white background to space art despite a frame with no fill.

I've recreated the work in Illustrator but is the same thing - it's just type converted to outlines and expanded.

Any suggestions welcome as deadline is looming!

    Thank you.

When you view the transparency grid, you should see a checkerboard pattern, unless you have changed the default settings

Try to place the image in InDesign again and check the show import options, and then turn on the transparent background.

  • Strangely, image with a transparent background in Photoshop and InDesign exports PDF format...

Hey, I really hope you can help!

OK, I did a catalog in InDesign and there say, an orange border. I imported an image to the layer on the orange border and it has a clear background. In photoshop, it has no background and is simply the black outline. However, when I export the Indesign to PDF and print it out, logo is there with his black side, but is inside a non-described and the background is kind of transparent, orange poster, she displays a weird shade of orange and it stands... Ive had with a few more pictures, don't know what im doing wrong when I save the image in photoshop or when you export or what! I am self-taught, (with the help of this forum and youtube) so bad really appreciate any help. I might post a picture but on the screen, everything seems correct, its seen that when I print the catalog, it is really strange! It is not just my printer-think of that - ive tried on three different places and with different pdf files to see if it was just a picture. Unfortunately, this is a good 220 on a 108-page document!

If you want to discuss rather than poster, you can Skype me as charmywoo

im just grateful for any help!

    Kind regards

  • Transparent background in photoshop after effect asset

    So I created animation

the movement of character (stop motion type of transfer), that I did in photoshop

    It took 150layer

the transparent layer of course and I try record video/quicktime .mov and gif with transparency box also checked

but the problem is when I try to combine them with animated background in after effect

title.mov both gif still have Fund (= black background mov, gif = white background)

How can I get rid of this backdrop, so my character transparent bg?

No matter which setting for this problem when I save the PS?

the .mov file, I try to display/add blend... mode but not really work given the lineart (black line) become transparent too

    Thank you

the problem is your render in PS settings. If you want you need to make transparency Alpha channel information:

Choose straight Alpha to avoid complications and you'll be fine.

Or, I have brushes that for photoshop, I downloaded and want to use the brush as an object and use it in illustrator. I have a transparent background in photoshop and the brush stroke is on a transparent layer, but when I drag in illustrator the white background appears again.

  • Transparent background Photoshop print with background in InDesign

I created an image in Photoshop with a transparent background.   I saved as a PDF file to keep transparency and then placed in an InDesign file, which has a blue background.   On the screen, it looks fine, but when I print there is a darker blue area around the image.   Obviously, I'm looking for the blue plain to show through behind the image and not the surrounding area.  How can I remove that?  Thanks for the help.

Try to save your document as a PSD old ordinary. This preserves the transparency.

  • How to flatten an image in Indesign that has a transparent background?

    Hi all

I'm creating a magazine for one of my clients in Indesign. Everything is going well, but there's a picture that gives problems. It's a PSD with a transparent background.

I can't seem to flatten this image and keep its transparent background, hope someone can help me to do so. I also do not know if I should do the flattening in Indesign or Photoshop?

I tried to insert the image with different extensions such as jpg, png, pdf and so on... Nothing seems to do the trick.

I hope that there is someone who can help me with this! Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

Looks like that turquoise is a spot color. Which PDF reader is your screenshot from? Only Acrobat, to simulate overprinting on, it appears correctly.

The uncoated Pantone book is for the selection of spot colors (specially mixed inks that are used instead or in addition to, CMYK inks/toners).

Unless it will be printed CMYK + a separate turquoise ink, you must either double-click on the sample, change the Type of Spot color to process, or open the ink Manager and switch to "all points in the process. If you actually print ink task, the RIP used to create the image for printing plates should make properly (as it looks like in Acrobat with simulate overprinting lit).

  • TIFF Photoshop with a transparent background in Illustrator is no longer with a transparent background

I have create a TIFF in Photoshop with a transparent background.

Then I open Illustrator and the place of the tiff on a color background.

Looks like a lot on the screen, but when I print the TIFF is no longer with a transparent background.

The background is not white, it is always transparent, but he changes the color that I put it on.

So when I print the green background becomes a little darker Green where the transparent background is.

Photoshop and illustrator that I have are the latest versions.

I did not have this problem in older versions of photoshop and illustrator.

You have spot colors, try to check "convert all spot colors to process.

Or try to use the .psd format that was loss of compression

  • Transparent background of forms missing in Photoshop

I made a few forms using capture. When I place the shapes in Illustrator, it's exactly like I want it to be.

But when I place the shapes in Photoshop, the transparent background of my form is white Uni - the alpha channel is lost.

Of course, the solution is to open the shape in Illustrator, and then the tool in Photoshop, but I have had many instead use libraries in Photoshop.

    Am I missing something?

Photoshop and Illustrator CC, the most recent version.

    Hello Valerie.

Sorry for taking so long to answer. You are on the Capture for Android or iOS?

Capture Android does not generate the vector format Shape who needs Photoshop, so the only available import option is as an image (with... a white background). If you are on iOS, it could be a bug.

    Let me know.

    Sue.

  • CC Moving Photoshop layers when exporting PNG with transparent background

Hey, if someone could help that would be great.

I make videos and use photoshop to create subtitles/text using the type tool, transparent background and then superimpose the image file into iMovie.

However, sometimes photoshop decides to move the text, even if I do not have when exporting, only seems to happen if the background is transparent.

For example. These two images and if you switch between them quickly enough to create a moving image.

    test2.pngtest1.png

I think you'll find that the border of the images are not the same, because of the background is transparent. You can check by looking at the dimensions in pixels for both images. They should be the same.
