• Digits of precision in Excel easy table

  Hi all

  I'm trying to dump a large amount of data in an excel file for a view that is not on the cards of any waveform on the front of my VI, and I used the vi Excel a table easy to do. I dropped a probe on the 2D table to export just before it goes into the entry 'text data' VI and there between 2 and 8 digits of accuracy appear (it's what I want), but it is shortened to only 3 when the excel file is filled. Is there a way I can export the data so that it will not truncate the numbers?

  Found a solution! The problem is that I had the 2D table directly connected to the input of text data. I used a nested for loop and a Format String vi with the format of string value % .7f, indexing in and out of the loop. It works beautifully.

• AppleScript search / replace in Excel sheet text Document

  I'm new on Applescript and I'm trying to create a script that can browse a document text (.html) and find and replace different phrases with a corresponding cell in an Excel document.

  I'll put placeholders in the text to be replaced like B_1 (first value to replace), B_2 (second), B_3 etc...

  They must be replaced in order using the cells B1-B9 in the Excel document. Phrases in the Excel document will be changed each time, so why it must be dynamic to capture them rather than a standard find & replace the script with static values.

  However, I continue to run into compile errors. Here is my current code:

  The first half works fine, but the second half gives me error "Expected end of line but found identifier." and highlights the 'using' in the 'replace' command (line 8) .

  Anyone know why this could be and is there any other glaring error in the script?

  Restructure your AppleScript in the Apple Script Editor (then do not peer in a continuous line of code) and then paste here using the Advanced Editor. Then select all the posted AppleScript and in the Style menu, choose paragraph. Now, your code is readable (hopefully) to us.

  

  The second point. Sublime text does not include any AppleScript script definition, so you can not handle it with AppleScript.

  TextEdit is scriptable, and probably you want in plain text rather than rich text (RTF) mode.

• 3001 error when you use Excel easy Table.vi

  To make a call to easy Excel Table.vi (Report Generation Toolkit) I get an error 3001.

  

  I've attached an example VI to demonstrate the problem.  Please run "Add Table Example.vi" in the attached zip.  This sample program is composed of screws in a bigger program, so it made more sense to create a sampling program and include only the screws required to include all of the great program.  The report class wire comes to a global functional VI.

  Which is a bit strange, is that the simple Excel table is used to write a summary table at the top of the worksheet with success in "Initialize Report.vi."  It's only when I do then the additional call to Excel table easy to Add Table example I get error 3001.  If you have any ideas why I get error 3001, let me know.

  I'm using LabVIEW 8.6 and RGTK 1.1.4.

  Excel has a limit of 256 characters for each cell, so you'll need to export to a different type of export such as html or silk.

• Report.VI of executable and easy text

  After you read knowledge base articles and the discussion grps, looks like I'm missing somethng when I create an exe and include "Simple text Report.vi" in my LV2012 project.  If I run the exe in the administrator of Windows 7 window, the results of the test are very well printed.  If I copy a shortcut of the exe on a window of the user on the same computer nothing is printed.  Someone knows why?

• print easy text.vi does not work in the executable

  I have 3 computers to target that runs labview 2012 on a PXIe8101controller.  In my statemachine the vi prints a report using simple text, report vi (palletized report generation) at the end of the trial.  Its an executable vi on all 3 machines.  On 2 machines, it works fine.  On the 3rd he hangs up when I'm logged in as a standard user.  If I log in as an administrator, it works very well.  The thing I noticed is that on 2 machines, that it works, the image is "factory...". 1.2.1F6' (under control panel > systems).

  On the test equipment that it only works in admin mode the original image is 1.2.4.f1.  MAX is also 5.3.1 on that past fine and 5.5.0 f1 on the one that does not work on.  Everything I'm mssing?

  I have an application that works on LV60 and when lance in LV86 I get the following error: error 6 took place in open/create/replace file in NI_Excel.lvclassave report to the File.vi-> SWF001 Test.vi Possible reason (s): LabVIEW: file generic i/o error. = OR-488: IO operation abandoned. C:\SWF001 IO Files\1_Single.xls the application made: New Report.vi Excel get Worksheet.vi Excel easy Table.vi Excel easy Text.vi (4 of them) save the report to the File.vi Report.vi to throw all in a nice string (errors and report-in/out) as is typical for some reason any I get this error message. I use it with Excel 2003 SP3 and the spreadsheet contains macros (and I get a prompt ' should I enable macros: "(Yes), I do not have with LV60 and the old version of Excel). This is probably not the problem? but deserves to be mentioned. The file exists on the system (and it seems that the application is to write on it with success - but maybe truncated as the error indicates-i cannot say with certainty).   Let me ask you a help with the following problem. I have record of control data Table in Excel, using Microsoft Office Generation Toolkit. To do this, I have model - basically in the Excel template file, there are up to 8 tables, and I need to write different data for them. So, I use the code, I have add in attachments - of course, he is slightly reworked for the forum, but in the application, it uses the same parts of code. Data are save to the model, but - numerical values are displayed in Excel as text. And Excel "knows" it's numeric values - and proposes to convert it to digital, as you can see on the screenshot... Formatting cells, where I write data, doesn't help you no - b/c when I implemented cells as 'General' (basically, digital Formate) format, he said, that the numbers are stored as text - format b/c cells is digital, no text.
  And what is more interesting - when I save no Table, but a digital 2D painting in Excle file through the function, I get the same behavior - data digital is stored as text...

  I may, some incorrect settings in Excel. But maybe, it can be solved in progrmatically. Could someone help, please?

• Table.VI easy Excel returns false numbers

  I'm working on a project to make automatic measurements in Labview and transfer them to a pre-made Excel file.

  But I came across something odd. The measure is in Volts and the output is in mili Volts. This goes without any problems, but when it is written in the Excel file, it becomes a number that does not completely match the entry.

  For example. The number of input to the "Excel easy Table.vi" is 50,2863, but the number written in the Excel file is 50 286 000

  How is it possible and more important still, how can I fix?

• How to read an Excel - Report Generation Toolkit cell widths

  When I use the 'add table to declare' or the "Excel easy table" screws to insert data to a model excel file then LabVIEW changes the width of the columns. It is very annoying because I have to inject data into a file template provided by the Subscriber.

  I can't use VI "simple text" (which preserves the width of the cell) because this VI is very slow.

  you're right, that Append table report will change the width of the column, according to what is specified on the column width and the system of measurement for the width of column entries. However if you set the width of column-1 than cells in model of is not changed.

  To answer your question, there is no specific VI which will give you the width of excel cell, but you can use the activeX calls and information. If you open the Excel function, you can see how these Excel ActiveX calls are made.

  You need to think about what you want to do, not how you want to do.  I'll make a few assumptions here - adopt to your notebook loads "real."

  I guess you want to take a series of readings from a device (sensor, serial port).  I suppose you take multiple readings, perhaps their display on a table or chart, for a certain period of time.  Once you have a set of data, you want to save all the data in an Excel file.

  If this scenario is correct, there are three distinct phases to this task - implemented the data collection (open the serial port, manage the interactions of the user according to the needs), data collection (and potentially produce tables or graphs) and save the data.  Note that only step 2, collect data, involves a repetitive action appropriate for a while loop.  Once you have all the data, you can then open an Excel report, use something like Excel table easy to put the Table in the report or chart Excel easy to put a chart in the report and save the report in evidence, save the report.

  If you are using a relatively recent version of LabVIEW (2010 or later), the new generation Excel report screws are pretty easy to use.

  This code snippet creates a report with the value 3 in a cell (as it turns out, it is cell A1).  Note that because I use Excel easy table, I need to turn my scalar (3) into a 2D array.  Easy table gives me the address of the cell just to the right of the insertion (where the formula of the IRA--by subtracting from the column, I can return address Excel (A1) of the 'cell to the left'.  I then create a formula (starting with "=") which doubles the cell and adds 0.5, then use Excel insert a formula in the worksheet, where it becomes 6.5.

  Look in the VI of reading, and you'll see that it uses a Get Data Excel, which belongs to the C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\vi.lib\addons\_office\excel.llb library.

  Instead of the Excel data, try to use Excel easy table that is part of this library.

  Of course, you'll want to make a copy of the VI of reading and rework the code while he writes in easy Excel Table rather than the bed from Excel Get Data.
