Exchange of CPU on Satellite A110

Hello

Is it possible to change the processor Toshiba Satellite A110 form celeron M (410) 1.46 MHz (http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=27148) to
Pentium M 1.86 MHz (http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=27593)?

Hello

In General; upgrading the CPU is not possible or not desirable, because the BIOS has not been tested with a different CPU and no one can say how the laptop would go after these updates.

But if you want to know if a certain CPU is compatible, you should check the properties of your A110 Intel chipset
If the chipset would support the new processor and you might have a good chance with the upgrade but note; new processor creates more heat dissipation which lead to a higher temperature, this could be a problem

Is it posible to change the processor in the Toshiba Satellite A110-195 or it is soldered on a motherboard?

    Now he's got cpu T2250.

The CPU is in almost all cases "nested" which means that the processor is removable from the system board. But even if the removable part, this does not mean that the party must be exchanged/updated or changed.

  • Re: Exchange of CPU on Satellite M70-337

    Hello.

I recently got the * TOSHIBA EQUIUM M70-337 * my brother. I love the laptop but I find it pretty slow and I want to make a change for the processor.

However, I'm not sure what to do, so I would not get the wrong type can give me any help on processors that are compatible as I really need to use the laptop for my AS and A2 level.

I use currently Garni processor which I think is a processor INTEL Mr. He has a clock speed or 1.7 ghz and I would like something along the lines of 2.66 or greater.

I found compatible RAM for stimulating my memory so I just need to know the names of the processors that I can use. Also the price and links to them.

    Thanks for your help.

I think that the exchange of CPU or upgrade is not the right solution. I have Satellite M70 and it's absolutely the same notebook as your one and my past fairly quickly.
I do not which OS you use, but the fact is that this laptop is designed for Windows XP Home edition and with good and just configuration of Windows XP Home edition, you'll have well equipped operating system. Upgrade of RAM to the maximum level too and you must be satisfied with the performance of s for laptop.
I really don't think CPU upgrade is needed.

In any case for this platform, I think you can use Intel Pentium M processor 725/730/740/750/760/770/780.

I don't have the time to pick them up for you. Use Google for your country and only search.
Everything you do is at your own risk, and if something goes wrong... you know what I mean.

  • How to replace the CPU on satellite A110-252

I have a satellite A110-252 and need to know how to replace the cpu, hope someone can help you.

    Doug

First of all there if the new processor would be compatible with the BIOS.
Second, you should know that a plu CPU produce more heat and this would lead to overheating.
Are you sure that your laptop would deal with the new CPU?
    I don t think so

In any case, I found this page:

There may be some useful pic and instructions for you

But once again; If I was you, I wouldn't try it.

    I have a small question

This satellite 1800 804 cpu have 1.7 Volts or 1.5. And the next question which higher processor (higher then PIII 1000) can I put in this book. And if in this notebook is cpu 1, 7V I can put the 1.5 processor? And so, in this notebook is 100FSB cpu I can put the FSB 133

    Thanks for help

    Hi Darek

    Thanks for being here ;)
It would be very interesting to know the full name of your unit, because of many satellite 1800 - xxx with different hardware configurations.
But nevertheless without knowing your detailed unit, I would say that it of not possible to upgrade the processor on your laptop. The processors used in laptops are connected to the motherboard using a process called TCP (tape carrier package). It is a method of permanent connection and is used in the interest of miniaturization and heat dissipation.

  • Satellite Pro A100 - can I exchange the CPU?

    Hello world

I have a Satellite Pro A100-198 with a core duo processor. I would like to replace the processor of a Satellite Pro A100 830, which is Core2Duo in the Pro A100-198. They both have the same chipset-expected-they be any problem with that? This would increase the clock speed of 1.66 GHz to 2.0 GHz. They all have two Intel 945 PM Express chipset.

I just upgraded from XP to Windows 7 32 bit and the performance score is 3.4. My BIOS version is 1.9 and I see there is an upgrade to win all the version 6, but I can't find the BIOS version history - it is better to upgrade. For the moment, I'll see if there are problems.

    Thanks in advance Mick

    Hi Mick,

As far as I know the two books belongs to the PSAACE series. Can you confirm this? You can find this information on the underside of the laptop.

Normally if the books belong to the same series, it should be possible to exchange the CPU. They use the same hardware, so you can exchange.

But don t forget this isn't supported CPU upgrade. If you have the warranty you will lose it. Other s CPU are pre-tested not on your laptop.

  • Satellite A110-274 supports one Intel CPU T2050?

Hi guys can tell me if the A110-274 supports a duo T2050 processor anyone or not...

    Thank you very much

Satellite A110 supports up to a processor Intel Core Duo 2.16 GHz with 2 MB of Cache L2 and FSB 667 MHz.

But in your case, I would not change the CPU because it costs a lot to and you get much more performance.

Here is an article on the CPU upgrade:

Could someone help me with some ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Marina

Please don't get me wrong, but I don't think there is that you can only do about it.
Of course, there is a serious hardware problem, probably with the motherboard. I don't know which component is troublemaker, but if your computer laptop doesn't react at all, it can be electronic power supply.

It may be the CPU. It may be the motherboard, but you must understand that it is not possible to provide an accurate diagnosis on this path. What you need is a professional help. Laptop must be controlled by diagnostic tools and it can be done in only authorized service. Contact them and explain the situation.

  • Satellite A110-103 - 2 GB RAM - gaming performance optimization - SOLUTION

    Hello

For those of you who have 2 GB of RAM installed on the laptop and want to play games like f.e.a.r.2 PROJECT ORIGIN, it's performance that I have tested on my Toshiba Satellite A110-103!

If you want to add 2 GB of RAM or more to your laptop please read [this post and my experience with upgrades RAM | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=153005#153005]! It could help you save money!

Before you install the 2 GB of RAM, I used to have a paging file 4096 defined in Windows for drive C.
After that I installed the 2 GB of RAM, I wanted to play f.e.a.r.2 Project Origin on low heat.
However, the game played horrible with low display rate. So I wanted to know if there is a way to disable virtual memory (swap file) and only use real RAM.

Most of the discussions about the paging files disabling said it there is no way or point by doing this!
Well, I decided to give it a try!

I disabled the paging file to * start-> Control Panel - > system-> advanced-> performance-> settings-> advanced-> virtual memory - > Exchange-> no paging file *. I restarted my laptop and after the reboot in my case I could see the big difference in speed!

TEST: I opened FEAR2 - Project Origin started playing and my character's movement, where much more receptive and lag-free! : D

Conclusion: In my case disable virtual memory (swap file) really boosted my gaming experience! And I play on an ATI X200M with 256 MB shared memory card!
Try this and if you get good results please post them here! I have

    Best regards
    Marius Gigi

    Hi dude

    Thanks for this message
Usually the pagefile should help you increase the performance of RAM
USIN the page file, the data that must be stored in RAM would be transferred to the HARD disk and therefore a pieces of RAM would be free

However, thank you for this return of experience and your comments!

  • Satellite A110-174 - RAM upgrade questions

    Hello

    I have a Satellite A110-174

I want to buy a RAM module (it uses ddr2 ram, 533 MHz), but it seems impossible, in view of their.
I can only find the frequencies of 800 or higher.

I can use them or they give me problems / incompatibilities?

Can I mount 1 module or to buy 2 modules?

The motherboard will read up to 4 GB or need a Bios Update?

    Thank you

Satellite A110-174 can be upgraded up to 4 GB of RAM.

In order to use a feature of dual channel RAM, two modules must be used.
This means module of RAM 2 GB in each slot.

The 4 GB RAM limit is caused by Mobile Intel 945 GM Express chipset
http://Ark.Intel.com/de/products/27857 as well as the Intel Core CPU T1350 http://ark.intel.com/de/products/27243
The processor supports the 533 Mhz FSB (front side bus) and the RAM modules will run max at 533 Mhz.

Thus, you should use the DDR2-533 modules

But sometimes, you should be able to use the DDR2 - 667 Mhz modules. In this case the 667 Mhz speed module will be clocked at 533 Mhz

  • Satellite A110 (PSAB0) running hot after BIOS update

I've updated the BIOS on my Satellite A110 (PSAB0) to the latest version and now the laptop works warm - fan runs continuously and the battery runs out of full of emptiness in a few minutes.

Y at - it a setting or an other update to address this problem or how to restore the old BIOS?
I'm sure that I opted to save the old version during the update, but I can't find it on my laptop.

    Thanks for any help

Have you tried to reset the BIOS to its default settings?

Also try to update the Toshiba Power Saver and common Modules and make sure the power options are on dynamic processor to avoid the CPU to run at full speed all the time.
