Executable file

I'm looking for advice run a stand-alone executable on a computer that does not have LabVIEW.

I understand that when I generate the executable file and move the computer free of LabVIEW, I need to install the runtime. My question relates to create multiple copies of the executable on the computer of LabVIEW-free, without having to build several copies in a first time. Am I able to copy and rename the executable file and the .ini file associated with, modified, so that it can I run more than one routine at the same time. However, this just rename the .exe file, but not the built-in vi. and I am concerned conflict of I/O communication.

Is it possible to copy the exe file and also rename the vi associated without having to re - build?

My app uses the same routine of LabVIEW to control several drilling rigs, who need exe files independent labview.

Advice / solutions are welcome.

Best wishes

Concession.

Another option would be to build a master VI, that allows to launch multiple reentrant copies if your controller instrument as necessary.

    The executable "unix" just means that it doesn't have an extension for the operating system is not what it is. In addition, the executable bits are defined, so it may have been a case, but this info was lost, too.

    Do you run all software anti-virus on them? I don't know what else would generate something that "needs analysis".

    How do I burn a file .img to a DVD and have it be an executable file?

    It seems that used to be possible using disk utility, but not more for some reason any.

    Hi Frank

    Not sure, what do you mean by executable video file, assume you mean play on a DVD player.

    You create an image file to DVD in iMovie, FCPX etc... This allows the correct coding and the structure files for DVD, s / BDs.

    Once you have the .img file, you can (control) click on the file and choose ' burn Image 'File name' disk drive...» »

    Be aware that you need a R/W drive mounted/Secretary for the contextual elements appear. If you have a Blu - ray image, you need a BD player. Your file must be less than 4.7 GB for single DVDs faces or ~8.2GB for the DVD DLs. to 100GBs for quad layer BDs.

    There are other 3rd party there as well.

    Hope this helps, Greg

  • My Avira Antivirus has been removed and the executable file Recovery Disc Creator

    Hello

    I want to create recovery DVDs, but I can't use Recovery Disc Creator because Avira deleted the executable file. How to do it?

    Thanks in advance

    I use Avira if a long time now and I've never experienced something like that. It's pretty bad situation now.

    Creator of recovery disk Toshiba cannot be downloaded and what you can do now is to reinstall the OS using the HARD drive recovery option, then when the laptop has once again factory settings, you will be able to start this tool and create the recovery disk.

    Out of curiosity, what model of laptop you have exactly?

  • How to create an executable file from a LabVIEW 8.6.1

  • USB-6008 how to move an executable file to another computer.

    Hello Forums NOR!  Please bear with me as I'm new to products OR as well as this forum.  Hope I have write in good advice.  I'm an electronics technician with over 30 years of experience in a variety of hardware and software that is trying to move an executable file from an old computer to Windows XP on a new computer Win 8.

    First of all, I just moved the file .exe itself.   When it is run, it produces an error dialog box: "Unable to locate the LabVIEW run-time engine" "this executable requires a 2011 version (or compatible) LabVIEW Run - Time Engine."

    Then I ran the installation disc driver supplied with the USB-6008 module.  Now, the executable will start but it does not seem to connect with the USB-6008, because it does not have the digital I/o.

    I can run NI MAX and see the USB module as well as test the analog and the digital I/o so I know the hardware works.

    I've been surfing on the knowledge base and found references to .dll & .vi type support files, but have no idea of which ones to get and where they might be.

    This is possible without having to recompile the exe file?  I have no access to the source files.

    Thank you!

  • LabVIEW FPGA: Not possible to create an executable file that uses the FPGA in Simulation Mode? I get a weird error code

    When I try to create an executable from a host VI that has an "Open FPGA VI" reference who has run, the value "Dev computer w / Sim i/o" value, the application is built without error but when I try to run it, it opens with an arrow broken to run and has the following error:

    "VI has an error of type 2302200.  The full development of LabVIEW version is necessary to correct mistakes. "In fact, he repeats this message two times in the same window for some reason any.

    Moreover, I * have the LabVIEW full development version and I use 2010 SP1

    While the error message is not as clear as it could be, you're right: you cannot run an executable file that tries to run an FPGA VI in the simulation.  It would be nice if there was an error in compiling.  I always forget to switch to run on the target FPGA before building my application and discover the error until I have it copied on the system in the laboratory.

  • How can question I run an executable file in the background?

    Hello

    I'm trying to run an executable in the context of LabVIEw, but none of the methods described in the forum and on ni.com seems to work. I use LV 2011 on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine where it is important.

    I tried the method described in "How to make an executable in the background as a marketing app?" (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/4A8B626B55B96C248625796000569FA9?opendocument&Submitted&&... but I always see a fragment of a window at the bottom near the start (Exhibit 1) key.) Table 2 shows that it consists only of the title bar. (I customized the appearance of the window as described and added the two points

    HideRootWindow = True

    UseTaskBar = FALSE

    in the *.ini file.)

    I also tried to disable all other items in the menu customize appearance of window with the same result.

    Then I tried the method described in "Ongoing execution of an executable of LabVIEW as a background process" (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/EFEAE56A94A007D586256EF3006E258B) addition of the FP. Open the VI method and affecting the hidden state. I got the same result (table 1).

    Should I do more or different for my version of windows? I appreciate your help. Thank you.

    I found the problem. It was a wrong directory for the build name. I continued under an older version of the executable with the default window settings. • What version of the Visa Runtime executable files compiled in LabVIEW 7.1 require?

    We have an old executable that was written in LabVIEW 7.1 and uses the serial port communication.  We are licensed with LabVIEW 2010, however our company policy requies a lot of paperwork so he should recompile.

    The executable program has worked well over the years.  The computer on which it is running has to be replaced. Any software included in the CD 'Install' is not enough, and now there is no communication with the serial device.  I guess the problem would be DURATION VISA European Commission.

    Does anyone know which version of the Runtime VISA is required for executable files compiled in LabVIEW 7.1?  Is this something of "Legacy"?

    Thank you in advace for assistance.

  • executable files may only work running labview

    Dear all,

    I simply create an executable file that calls several functions of a DLL (also written in LabVIEW), the LabVIEW DLL will call a DLL acquisition card written in c ++ to capture images from my camera. Everything worked fine until I have copy my entire program to a pc with the only run LabVIEW and installed vision. While the program no longer works. The LabVIEW DLL I call keep will return null string that it's not supposed to be. The DLL is supposed to return 0 for any mistake or any number which is the error code.

    Help, please... Thank you very much!!

    Hi GerdW,

    Thanks for the reply.

    I just thought of it.

    It was because I only installed runtime of vision but has not installed the device IMAQ driver.

    My program works fine after installing the device IMAW driver.

  • Creation of stand-alone executable file with similar library files without errors of link

    I have an Executive Test that is run on two different test systems. Each stand has another card ARINC429. The old card use 429dll32.lib, while the most recent map use pci429.lib. Test Exec code only loads a single library file (using LoadExternalModule) depending on what the test bench has the card, but since there are many similar functions in both, ICB does not test Exec be built as a stand-alone executable.

    In CVI 5.0.1 I opens the "Create stand-alone executable file" and select "add files to the executable. I check the 429dll32.lib and the pci429.lib to include in the creation of executable, and then click 'OK '. When I click 'OK' to create the executable I have several link errors, one for each function both .lib files have in common.

    Is it possible for each of these .lib files to be included in the compilation without having to create two separate executables?

    eatmontr:

    If you use LoadExternalModule(), you need not include the .lib files in the Executive test project.  Refer to the CVI for LoadExternalModule help.

    Here's the info on the help:

    LoadExternalModule loads an external object module file. You need not list the file in your project or loaded as a module of an instrument.

    The file may be an object (.obj) file, a library file (.lib) or a library (.lib) import DLL.

    Here are a few articles to OR who can help.

  • Impossible to read signals off cDAQ 9178 with executable file

    Hello

    I built a Vi read analog inputI with a NI 9201 module and make an executable file to run on a pc differnent. on the build computer, everything works fine.

    on the other pc, I installed the engines of execution. I can run the executable, but I don't get the analog input signals. I solved it by exporting the form of MAXIMUM for the secondary PC configuration files.

  • Generation of reports in executable files

    By using LabVIEW 2012 SP1, I created a vi that opens an Excel file and puts a string of data (time stamp and a bit of data).  He travels once per second and adds the file very well on my laptop.  My problem is that when I create an executable file, the generation of reports does not work.  The loop works fine collects data, but Excel does not open.  Can someone tell me what's the trick?

    Thank you

    Brad

    You should be able to add a right click on 'My Computer' in the LabVIEW project and select 'Add' ""file... ". »

    In the window that opens, you should be able to access your folder of Installation of LabVIEW to Excel class realized. An example of his path on my system for LabVIEW 2012 looks like this: (you will probably need to change this)

    C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\vi.lib\Utility\NIReport.llb\Excel\NI_Excel.lvclass

    Once the class appears in your project, you should be able to add to the section "Still included" the "Source Files" category in the build specification.

    Kind regards

  • Cannot start web server on the executable file

    Hello

    We have a problem with a Web server - we cannot get to initialize the help of nodes of property or the ini on a compiled executable file.

    As part of our application, we are starting the Web server to publish a status page to be read remotely. This works very well when we are running in the development environment and also when we run an executable a PC with installed development environment, however it will not boot on a PC with just the runtime installed.

    I have attached some of the code that functionally does exactly the same thing in our main application. I used this as my Tester code and built in an exe while trying a lot of different things to fix.

    When executing:

    • The code will sit in the while loop until I press stop.
    • Web server: Active Server = FALSE
    • Out error = ERROR No.

    In the full application the while loop waits a few seconds before throw an error if the server is not started. In this example, I can let the loop running for awhile without leave. Normally, the boot time is<50ms when="">

    It's the ini file to the executable file:

    [WebTest]
    server.app.propertiesEnabled = True
    Server.OLE.Enabled = True
    server.tcp.serviceName = "My Server computer/VI"
    server.vi.propertiesEnabled = True
    WebServer.Enabled = True
    WebServer.TcpAccess = "' + * '"
    WebServer.ViAccess = "' + * '"
    DebugServerEnabled = False
    DebugServerWaitOnLaunch = False

    And it is the Web server configuration file:

    ErrorLog "$LVSERVER_ROOT/logs/error.log".
    LogLevel 3
    The default server name
    DocumentRoot "$LVSERVER_ROOT /... /.. '. "/ www".
    Listen 8000
    ThreadLimit 10
    TypesConfig "$LVSERVER_ROOT/mime.types»
    DirectoryIndex index.html
    LoadModulePath "$LVSERVER_ROOT/modules '" $LVSERVER_ROOT/LVModules "" $LVSERVER_ROOT /... ".
    LoadModule LVAuth lvauthmodule
    LoadModule LVSnapshot lvsnapshotmodule
    LoadModule LVRFP lvrfpmodule
    LoadModule dir libdirModule
    LoadModule copy libcopyModule

    AddHandler LVAuthHandler
    AddHandler LVSnapshotHandler .snap
    AddHandler LVRFPHandler

    AddHandler dirHandler
    AddHandler copyHandler

    "CustomLog"$LVSERVER_ROOT/logs/access.log"'%%u %t \"%r\ hour' % > s %b.
    KeepAlive on
    KeepAliveTimeout 60
    Timeout 60

    As can side note, anyone tell me where the $LVSERVER_ROOT variable is configured?

    I tried the things:

    • Copy a new default configuration file before the entry into force
    • Writing a predefined file (encoded) before initializing config
    • Definition to root before initializing directory (it actually generates an error because the server is not active...)
    • Set WebServer.Active = TRUE several times inside the while loop
    • Toggle the web server in the ini file

    System:

    • LabVIEW 2010
    • PC with Windows 7 running

    Thanks for any help, because it makes me crazy slow!

    Ben

    Hi Marco, thanks for the reply.

    I have this guide was reviewed previously and had done all that he but a small section who gave me a hint of something to try and I have solved my problem, so thank you!

    If anyone is interested, here's the problem:

    The directive DocumentRoot folder in the config must exist or the Web server cannot be started. So basically, make sure that the file points to a folder that exists!

    This leaves two small annoying problems if - you can't see if the file exists (and then create it) before starting the Web server, because you can not query the path to the folder without the Web server running.

    AND

    You can't really define the configuration programmatically file as parameters from the file are responsible for execution, not on the start Web server.

    The result of this is that the config file and the folder root document should be created (and corresponding of course...) when the executable is built / installed on the system. Not a massive headache, but it means do not forget to put things in the build specification and do not rely on software to do the job at startup

  • executable file. Exe

    Hello.. I'm starting to work with Labview, so I need help.
    After you create an executable file. Exe
    When I create an app for a client... this software to install on your machine to run the application?

    Gratefu

    You will need the engine running for LabVIEW that matches the version of LabVIEW that was used to create the .exe.

    You also need the VISA run-time engine (if you series, or any other communication of VISA based ports).  Also drivers DAQ if you're doing data acquisition.
