Export and import in Data warehouse

Hello
I built a warehouse project data with a few dimensions and a cube on a server machine, say server1. Now I have another server computer on which I want to develop this project for bulk production.
I want to import all the developments of server1 to new server machine, say server2, to save my time. I exported the data to the server server1 using the export feature and import the same file to server2 by using the import function. My question is...

Is it possible to use all the imported objects like cube, dimension, maps, tables and sequences in the same way to server2 that I used to server1. If yes then what are the necessary settings, I did. ??? because imported ratings are not able to deploy in the new machine to server2 of various errors specific location not valid and not valid errors for mapping and the dimensions of the table.

Thanks in advance
Imran

You should check how much memory consumes your request, if it's 32-bit windows, which will be less than 2 GB.
It seems he requires more than 2 GB and cannot attack more, the combination of the caches for all databases in the application could take to the maximum, and when the application requires more memory, you do not find on the operating system.

    See you soon

  • Problem of migration of data of characters using a whole export and import

    Hi there;

I have a database in my local computer that does not support Turkish characters. My NLS_CHARACTERSET is WE8ISO8859P1, it should be changed to WE8ISO8859P9, because it supports the full Turkish characters. I would like to migrate character data using a full export and import and my strategy is the following:

    1. create a full export to a network location,

2 create a new database in the local computer than NLS_CHARACTERSET is WE8ISO8859P9 (I wish NLS_TERRITORY NLS_LANGUAGE change by the way)

3 and to implement a full import of database created.

I've implemented the first step, but I could not implement the second step. I created the second step using Toad editor by clicking Create-> new database, but I can't connect to the new database. I need to connect the new database in order to perform the full import. How can I do this?

    Thanks in advance.

First of all, if your applications run on Windows, do not use WE8ISO8859P9. Use TR8MSWIN1254.

Second, if you create a new database, the database is not necessarily immediately accessible to the outside world. I don't know of a toad, and I have no idea if it performs all necessary steps required for the new base data is visible.  For example, in the toad itself, I guess you need to create a new connection that refers to the new SID of the newly created database and use this new link to connect. However, connections without a connection string using the parameter ORACLE_SID in the registry to indicate applications access which instance (database) to use.  To change the database accessed with a connection string empty, you must modify the registry (unless the toad has an option to do it for you). If you want to connect without changing the registry, you need a connection string. This requires the implementation of Oracle Listener to serve the new database (unless the default configuration is used and the database registers itself with the default listener). You must also edit the tnsnames.ora file to create an alias for the new database. Net or Net Configuration Manager Wizard can help you with this.

I wonder if the database Configuration Wizard would not be a better tool to create a new Oracle databases.

  • Export and import of large dump files.

    Hi all

I'm using Oracle 11 g R2, and I need to export and import a 150 GB of an environment dump file to another.

What would be most effective to do this? (cut the dump file? etc..)

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Chichi.

If the environments are similar you might consider using the transportable tablespace option of datapump, export metadata and simply copy the actual data files, you meet the criteria for this.

  • How to export and import in Form Builder 6i

    Hello
I use a generator of the 6j and oracle 9i database form, and I just finished my project before 1 day.
I want it is to program a button (trigger) to export or import my data backed up.
    Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllp.

I'm sorry but the TEXT_IO must loop through all the files and that's a lot of time and the weakness in programming proposals, others please.

Yes, it is a deficiency of this method, but you do not specify how care you for data and most of the people who ask this question are only interested in a solution of forms. Since you don't specify how much data you want to import/export - I went with a forms option.

Andreas and Christian are right in that the Import/Export of the RDBMS feature is a better option for the largest data sets. If you massage the data in some way, then you can consider creating a database procedure/package that performs the ort/export of data to and from a file, assuming your goal is to create or read your data in a flat file.

With a better description of the way in which you want to import/export your data, we could offer you the best suggestions. :)

Manual creation of data base means that we can create an oracle database using manual scripts without using dbca. We use the export utility is for taking backup of

database is running and the backup file created with so .dmp file taken call us as dump and utility import file is used to restore the dump to the database file.

  • How to make fast export and import

I have a windows 2003 server and oracle 10.2.0.3 installed on it.
Here, I would like to ask how can I speedup my export and import using expdp.

Here, I would like to ask how can I speedup my export and import using expdp.

You can use export parallelization using data pump, but for traditional export use the following syntax

Export of databases - readings given by running a select data and generating the DDL to perform the import process in the future.

    Quick export

    (1) use direct = y
    (2) until the disk is not fully used try to launch exports in parallel.
    (3) maintain the export on the other disk file and data files.
    (4) exports to run into two parts rather than lines that is 1 a = n and second to as long as index = n lines = forced y = n.

    Quick import

    (1) uses the first two files created with exports, it will insert all data but doesn't create any indexes and constraints. Once the insertion of data made imp execution with the indexfile option to extract the index creation script in the text file. Edit the file to include a parallel clause, and then set it to 128 with sort_area_size db_file_multiblock_read_count parameter to a higher value and a workarea_size_policy = AUTO.

  • sys and system of export and import

    Hi all

is there a difference with exports or imports, usiing the sys user and user of the system.

a schema export and import has to do with the system user only.

What is the difference in fact.

    Thank you!

    Hello
In general, never use sys - you can't export consistent reading on the one hand, that the sys user. As long as the user you run expdp/impdp a permission/imp_full_database, they should be able to unload/load anything.

SYS the property in the goods may not be imported/exported in any case. tab$ is for example a table in sys but rows in it are added/removed by sql recursive create/delete table implementation.

My friend, that's almost exactly the same method that we discussed earlier in {: identifier of the thread = 2403938}. But now must use expdp/impdp with clause DUMPFILE, not DATABASE_LINK.

I see in DAC that there is an option "Truncate table" when you import a repository. My question is:

When we simply export and import a container... This option will only replace the existing container or containers? I noticed that it considerably improves the importing process, but looks like that when you do this, it will eliminate all the existing metadata for the entire repository? Is that correct or is it just for containers that you import?

    Hello
When you import and say truncate tables all will be lost and the only container that you import will be present... it certainly reduced the time to.
