Export CSV for Excel import formatting

Hello

I have a script that I run, which collects configuration information from host and virtual machine configuration information (CPU/RAM/disk/etc...) and even though I have the script works fine most of the time, I wonder if someone can show me the best way to take a cluster as "Cluster of Test of SEA" name and remove the spaces in it before you export it to CSV file , which would make it much easier to delimiters in Excel format the columns correctly.

Here is the content of the script I use (script/cluster host):

$myCol = @)

ForEach ($Cluster Get-cluster)

{

ForEach ($vmhost in ($cluster |)) Get - VMHost))

{

$VMView = $VMhost | Get-View

$VMSummary = "" | Select the host name, ClusterName, MemorySizeGB, CPUSockets, CPUCores

$VMSummary.HostName = $VMhost.Name

$VMSummary.ClusterName = $Cluster.Name

$VMSummary.MemorySizeGB = $VMview.hardware.memorysize / 1024 mb

$VMSummary.CPUSockets = $VMview.hardware.cpuinfo.numCpuPackages

$VMSummary.CPUCores = $VMview.hardware.cpuinfo.numCpuCores

$myCol += $VMSummary

}

}

$myCol # | out-gridview

Here is the command I am running to the CLI:.\ESXiHost_Stats.ps1 | Hostname FT NOMCLUSTER, MemorySizeGB, CPUSockets, CPUCores > FileName.csv

I use the FT for formatting the table so the properties of the host are arranged horizontally rather than vertically, which makes it easier to sort and display in Excel.  The names of our guests have no spaces in them, however, do our Cluster names, so I would remove the spaces with as much automation as possible.

Example: Original name Cluster: SEA DEV Cluster-> new NOMCLUSTER when exporting to CSV format: SEADEVCluster

I always learn PS, so don't know if it of easy or not.  I have other choice is to put are underscored in vCenter for names of cluster or something, that I would avoid if I don't have to do.

I've heard great things about this community, so am doubting not that someone can point me in the right direction quickly!

Thank you!

Remove whites in the NOMCLUSTER could be done like this

 $VMSummary.ClusterName = $Cluster.Name.Replace(" ","")

  • Missing HD export options for file MP4 format

    Hello

    I was wondering if someone could please give me some advice.

    I am missing the format options higher resolution export using MP4 (see screenshot).

    How can I export to 1080? Also is there anyway to change the extension to .mp4 instead of .3gp file

    Thanks in advance

    The "MPEG4" Adobe format uses is for old formats video mobile phone, which are pretty useless nowadays.

    You want to spend the 'Format' to 'H.264 '.  This will export one. MP4 file encoded in H.264.  There are many presets available, I would recommend starting with one of the YouTube ones specific to the resolution of the video and the pace.

  • Automatic files in Excel import of PDM

    I was looking at the NI TDMS for Excel import plugin and it seems that the latest version of the plugin uses the COM API that could allow to import feature be used automatcially. There is a page of brief info on this here http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/10207 but I am new to Excel Macros and VBA, so I don't know how to get this tutorial what I'm willing to do.

    Specifically, I wonder if anyone knows (and could see an example of) how to do the following:

    Starting in a labview VI, the user would choose a path to a PDM file. Once the path is selected, the VI would call the PDM import excel plugin and run it on the file.

    After playing with things, I discovered the solution to this, and I'm posting for everyone in case it may be of some use. To use this solution to work out of the box, you will need the report generation tool. If you don't have that, you would need another way to launch labview Excel and run a macro. I hope that someone who has the knowledge of how to do which will display the part in this thread for those who do not have the Toolbox

    To begin, open excel and in the menu bar, select Tools-> macro-> Visual Basic Editor. The source of the macro that you create is:

    Void TDMImport (fileName)
    ' Get TDM Excel Add-In
    Dim obj As COMAddIn
    Set obj = Application.COMAddIns.Item ("ExcelTDM.TDMAddin")
    obj. Connect = True

    "Only confirm importing ' Description' for root properties."
    Call obj. Object.Config.RootProperties.SelectAll

    "Show County group under the name of property.
    Call obj. Object.Config.RootProperties.Select ("Groups")

    "Select all properties available for group
    Call obj. Object.Config.GroupProperties.SelectAll

    "Import custom properties".
    obj. Object.Config.RootProperties.SelectCustomProperties = True
    obj. Object.Config.GroupProperties.SelectCustomProperties = True
    obj. Object.Config.ChannelProperties.SelectCustomProperties = True

    "Import the selected file
    Call obj. Object.ImportFile (fileName, False)

    "Record to the bottom of the active workbook
    Dim workbook as an object
    Set workbook = ActiveWorkbook
    End Sub

    Once you have copied/pasted into the editor to go to the bar and hit file-> export the file and save the macro under one. BAS file

    You will also need to go to tools-> macro-> Security and select the Visual Basic Project Trust so that the macro be called from LV

    Once all this is done, you can use the attached VI (recorded in LV 8.6) food just the way DOWN and the TDMS file via the controls on the front panel and click Run and the PDM import will be done automatically.

  • How to format export Lr/carrier for Excel?

    I am able to use the plugin Lr/carrier to create a file .txt with the information for the photos.  I am unable so far to create columns on an Excel worksheet for each item created using Lr/carrier "chips".  At the end of the day, I have the intention to create a spreadsheet with hundreds of photos and accompanying data EXIF and keywords.

    I've attached a screenshot of the dialog box carrier construction of token for a test of the export.  I took the summary.txt file and pasted into an Excel worksheet.  The result is a line of repeat data sets. I expect Lr/carrier to create a CSV file or other format that can be used for creating a table (worksheet) which can be searched and sorted. I have sufficient skills to insert the delimiters as the semicolon, comma or other characters.  But so far, I am unable to create data columns (for the filename, the shutter speed, opening, etc.).  I can of course cut and paste each set of repeated data and align them in column headers, but it would be more effort than my goals would justify.

    Any help will be appreciated.Companion and summary Files.jpg

    In the "specify the text to add to each photo", you need to add a new line at the end of your chips (type enter or return).

    You might find the plugin easier to use for your task List View .

  • Export-csv formatting

    Sorry for the newbie question (and thanks for any help) but I have a reporting need to enumerate WWPN of hosts per cluster.

    With the below it will display csv as:

    Name of host Hba WWPN

    Server1 vmhba1 xxxxxx

    Server1 vmhba2 xxxxxx

    Server2 vmhba1 xxxxxx

    Server2 vmhba2 xxxxxx

    Is it possible to get to the exit of the csv like that? :

    Hostname Hba1, Hba2 WWPN WWPN

    Server1 vmhba1 xxxxx xxxxxx vmhba2

    Server2 vmhba1 xxxxx xxxxxx vmhba2

    or:

    Hostname WWPN Hba1, Hba2-WWPN

    Server1, vmhba2 vmhba1-xxxx-xxxxx

    Server2, vmhba2 vmhba1-xxxx-xxxxx

    I just need to be able to enumerate each server with its Hba and WWPN on its own line

    I need to have it in this format in the turnover of another Department

    {foreach ($vmh to $VMHs)

    foreach ($hba in $vmh. ExtensionData.config.storagedevice.hostbusadapter) {}

    If ($hba. PortWorldWideName) {}

    $objHba += $ObjWwpn

    }

    }

    }

    $objHba | Export-csv .\"$ClusterName"_WWNs.csv E -NoTypeInformation

    Try something like this

    Import-Csv .\test.csv | Group-Object HostName | %{
        $row = "" | Select Hostname,Hba1,WWPN1,Hba2,WWPN2
        $row.Hostname = $_.Values[0]

        $row.WWPN2 = $_.Group[0].WWPN
        $row} | Export-Csv .\test2.csv -NoTypeInformation -UseCulture

  • How to search a file .csv for data using its timestamp, then import into labview

    Hi, I am currently get density, viscosity and temperature of an instrument, adding a timestamp data and write to a .csv file that I can view in Excel. It works very well (see attached code) but reimport what I have to do now is search this csv file of data that has been obtained at one time, temperature, density & the values of viscosity at the moment in Labview to do some calculations with them, so that the data acquisition process is still ongoing.

    I found several examples on how to import a CSV together in labview, but none on how to extract data at a specific time. Also, every time I try to do anything with the file .csv for my data acquistion VI is running, I get error messages (probably because I'm trying to write and import data from the .csv file at the same time). Is there a way to get around this, perhaps using the case structures?

    If you need to know my skill level, I use LabVIEW for a few weeks and before that have basically no experience of writing code, if any help would be great. Thank you!

    TDMS is a little more complex than that.  Here is a proof of concept quickly lifting together:

  • Import of csv - Cluster Get - Export csv

    Hello community vmware,

    I'm looking for a script simple ps import a list of vm (based on a csv file that I feed into it).

    I would then result to a csv file of the 2 column (1 column with the name of the virtual machine) and the other with the corresponding cluster name, in that it is.

    Thanks in advance for the help.

    Try something like this

    It assumes that your input CSV file looks like this

    Name

    VM1

    VM2

    $report = import-Csv - UseCulture names.cvs | %{

    Get-VM-name $_. Name |

    Select Name,@{N='Cluster'; E = {Get-Cluster - VM $_______ |} Select name - ExpandProperty}}

    }

    $report | Export Csv report.csv - NoTypeInformation - UseCulture

  • UseCulture - Import/Export-Csv - switch. What is it?

    Salvation;

    I've seen a lot of references for the parameter - UseCulture importing content or exporters results of scripts to/from csv files. I tried in vain to find a real description or purpose of this function. Can anyone help direct me as to where I can find it or clarify on this setting?

    Thank you. Ron

    It forces the cmdlet Export-Csv to use the separator used in your locale to use.

    By default there is a comma, but in other regions, it may for example be a semicolon.

  • If I want to be an importer of the image by image, for example - for WebP image format, I set up a SDK importer plugin? Are there examples?

    The title says it all really. Wondering if there is a simpler interface to implement that contains no video or audio, but just a still picture frame.

    I don't care about the export of this format of first, just to be able to read a single image or a sequence of images to use as images.

    Hi Rotem,

    A standard importer plugin is the way to go for an importer of still images.  You could start from SDK_File_Import in the SDK.  There is also a plugin WebM on GitHub:

  • Measure the silences (export values for the markers to Excel)

    Hello!

    I have the following task: I have wav files containing words listed by people. I need to measure latency between these vocalizations and export values in Excel.

    I found a function of marking of phrases (Edition-> Auto-Mark). But there are 2 problems:

    (1) I'll measure not gourmet, but latencies between them. There is a solution with subtraction of the time of the beginning of the next word at the end of the previous, but it's not very practical.

    (2) in any case, I don't know how to copy these values I get when phrases daub. There is no possibility to copy them in the window of markers (see the attached screenshot), or export them in any case.

    Help me, please! Thank you in advance.

    Luckily for you, this has been a problem in the past - and bored one individual to create CueListTool, which is perfectly able to export the list of markers in Excel. Should be all you need; You can sort the silence of the noise outside the hearing quite easily with this, I think.
