• Problems previewing InDesign CS5.5 exported EPUB in Apple iBooks, on an iOS device.

  I have problems of creation of EPUB when I use my document InDesign CS 5.5 of my first EPUB book, as a template to create my two other EPUB books.

  My client gave me a job that forced me to learn how to do ePub files - and I'm still learning.  I have created three books in Design CS 5.5, for fixed PDF page, with an array of interactive content and a regular EPUB export, with automatic formatting of reperfusion and automated table of contents. These books were not created for printing.

  After that I created the premiera and exported successfully to an EPUB, which previewed fine free Adobe additions, I used the first document InDesign CS 5.5 as a model to create the other two publications.  These books have been around 100 pages or less, with little or no imposed jpeg images except covers three books, so I have not created a Book.indb for each publication.  Each book is made in files unique InDesign with their own unique cover on their first page art.

  When my client in preview the three books on his iPad in iBooks, all three books show the cover of the first book, when we see them on the set of iBooks library.  Then, when you open them, you see the correct cover for this particular book and the correct inner pages.

  When I open each InDesign file and open the tabbed file information dialog box, I have a title of different document for each of the three different books.  When I export to EPUB, the Option to Export EPUB dialog box pops up and I chose "include Document metadata."  I entered the name of the Publisher and a separate for each book Unique identifier, when I export.

  After I sent the three files ePub to my iPod Touch, all three presented themselves in my library iBooks, but when we see them on the shelf of the library that they have the first cover of the book on all three.  So, I have an overview of redundant coverage on the library shelf, the iBooks app icons, running in Apple iOS.

  I have two books by Elizabeth Castro on creating ePub with InDesign files.  I will read more, especially the part about the preparation of your EPUB for Apple iBook, on iOS.  But I thought I'd share my problem here to see if anyone has a solution for me.  Thank you.

  I often find myself answering my own questions, but I'll do once again, this time, while others can learn.  When you export to EPUB in InDesign CS 5.5, a diolog of the Options to Export EPUB appears.  Under "EPUB", select "Image file existing use" and choose the file that was used on the first page of the InDesign document for the new cover of the book.

  This feature can cause human error inbedded if you use a book filled with Indesign as a model to create other books because even if you have placed a new cover at the beginning of the book, export options was still chosen for the previous book coverage file you worked on.

  In fact, I got the answer to my problem with the help of InDesign Menu, when InDesign CS 5.5 is released.

• Export of multiple pages

  I have several projects in model with up to 20 pages in a project. Is there a way to export all of them both in PDF or photoshop or what I need to do a page at a time?

  There is currently no way to export multidocument projects in a single file; for now, they must be exported to one page at a time.

  This, however, is a claim I heard a little since we introduced the ability to add several documents in a project and I have let the team know how many times it is requested. I hope that the feature will make its way to an update... Very soon.

• Can I export a single page in jpg format from the module of LR book?

  I only see the option to export the entire book as individual jpg.  If I make a single change to a single page, to get the revised page as jpg seems to me export the entire book again. Is there an easier way to get the update page jpg file?

  Hi Alan,

  No, you cannot export a single page of the book Module.

  However, you can try the following suggestion if you have a book with a smaller number of pages:

  Duplicate the book in the Collections Panel (right click > book duplicate) > then choose the book duplicate > edit the required page and delete all the pages except that you want to export > choose export to JPEG.

• With Center-justification text not maintained on export EPUB (REFLOW).

  Hi all

  I have some difficulty getting export EPUB (Reflowable) to keep the center justification in my layouts. I enclose some screenshots so you can see what is happening. In InDesign, I use the style of text with no manual override:

  I'm not sure if the style is inherited (where I would check that?) but the center alignment did not help anything, unfortunately.

  I ended up getting into Sigil and editing the CSS, which had indeed been exported as 'justify' and put into service with the 'Center '... Since I have to go in Sigil anyway for the images, I'll have to accept that as being the only difficulty at the moment.

• Video game after export Epub or pdf

  Really need help here!

  I did a project ebook with Indesign CS6 and plans to put some interactive videos that can be played in the ebook. However, after that I followed all the instructions online to place the video content in indesign and export as pdf interactive or the Epub format, the video, I placed cannot be read and even show on Epub file.

  Could someone help me solve this kind of situation? Is there any setting I have to do and I have only not for the export of interactive video content?

  I take your exported epub and try to load it on an iPad and see if you can see the video here.

  I read in the forums that ADE will not play videos right now because it's not epub compatible 3.0.

  To my knowledge there is no method available to export a Master Page. At least, not of the user interface.

  When you create a Master Page, you create a file with the extension of. HTT. When you view the pod of Master Pages, try a right-click on one of the. You see the HTT files. You should see an option in the context menu titled "Explore". Click on this option and Windows Explorer should open to the location of the file where your Master Page files. Note that you can see the other project files there as well. Master Pages are mixed with the other files in the project.

  Before I upgraded to Indesign, I had no problem with export ePUB files. Then later, I started to lose my breaks and spaces

• Cannot export to single pages facing pages

  I have a 60 page document + that I created to deal with pages. It is a magazine, so I had to work in spread because much graphics extend over two pages.

  My problem is that I was invited to make the final PDF file 'single page' - spreads. Each page must be hers.

  I tried to turn off the coast facing pages under the heading "Configuration document", but it did not split graphs that spans two pages (IE, I have a header that covered two pages and when I turn off 'facing pages', the header is attached to the 'left' page and space where half right of the image should be is not in the "right" page.) I understand that it is an object, but there should be a way for her to 'split').

  I can't find another way to transform the export of single pages. I either export it to PDF and get "spreads" (two pages face-to-face somehow transformed into a long page) or I lose half of my content.

  (By the way, I had this problem once before, when I was more inexperienced.) I did save two versions of the file: 1 vote against and facing pages and the other with facing pages turned off. Then I copied the 'spread' from the 'facing pages' file and pasted on the page "right hand" of the non-pages file (it's the cut part of the graphcis that spans two pages). It of obviously awkward, takes a LOT of time and spatial memory (which causes my system to slow down a lot), and I found myself with a couple of headers that were a couple milimeters off.  I feel that I'm totally missing something: I think that the duty to spread fashion design and have the file finished in simple pages would be a common thing to do).

  I'm starting to see a trend where new users seem not to grasp the concept of what is a "page", and what is a gap. A page's layout unit, that you specify in the settings of the documents, if arranged as connected or not. A gap is a page or group of pages that are accessed by side (the first page of a book is laid out as a single page spread, for example, with pages double suite). Spreads are constructed from the pages and are a convenient way to work, allowing you to see that a reader will see in a finished printed publication and work in related pages in a single view, but they do not have magical powers to change the size of the page, just because you're looking at the two pages together.

  Pages in spreads remain independent pages. They can be moved to new locations without moving their companions, and when you print or export (with the exception of the interactive PDF in CS5 or later) by default, you get simple pages, no matter how they could be organized on the screen. You define documents as pages face to face time to display the "spreads" as a unit while you work and be able to create a "handedness" in the provision, i.e. pages that are distinctly to the left or right clearly, based on the number of page. This means that you can have different margins or headers and feet, or other objects as the color bars on the two halves of your broadcast, and that these things can be put on the master pages to apply automatically.

  If you start using pages face to face, your default master page is a double page that can accommodate this handedness. If later, you go to the preparation of the Document and uncheck the facing Pages to break out "spreads" you also lose the ability to use the left side of your master page and and if there is no asymmetry in your layout will be lost, and your document will be destroyed, then uncheck face pages prior to export is both unnecessary and a very bad thing to do.

  STIX said, if you export PDFS for printing, there is nothing special at all you need to do to get the unique pages. Just make sure that you did not check the box of spreads. Interactive is a little different.   -exports all the pages of an indesign file to PDF separate single page (or other file types)

  -names, the pdf file with the name of a page-> This is the hardest to find part

  The reason why I could use it: I have a file of 200 + page with productspecs. I would like to export all pages with the software "productName" correct. (extraction of a PDF file in acrobat is not a problem, but then I have to rename all the files manually)

• Cover page appears twice in exported ePub

  Tried all the settings I could find anything not made, cover page appears twice when I discover the ePub exported in Adobe Digital Editions.

  best practice is to export your coverage to an image (jpg). You could then remove the cover of your InDesign page (or keep a version of InDesign a part where you have to make a change). The ePub export, select the option "cover > choose the Image ' and add the path to the exported image. Fact! Now you should see a cover page.

  (There are these two behaviors in InDesign, as advanced users will have to choose between one of two situations, according to project specifications. In most cases, adding the cover of an external image brings the best result for the cover.)

  CC 20141 work with an Indesign file book with 7 chapters (individual indesign files). Trying to create a Table of contents manual for a catalogue for export to epub. I thought that I could choose a page number in my table of contents and create a hyperlink to navigate to another page in my book, but I am only allowed to select pages in the introductory chapter (where the current table of content pages are). Any ideas on how to run? Read the manual, but not finding what I need.

  I try currently to create an eBook (for Apple iOS Devices) with inDesign CC with a layout fixed and I have 2 problems.

  (1) is it possible to have a page flip effect on leafing the ebook instead of just the effect of 'slide show' by default?

  (2) in my layout, I use a double layout (not very well how it is called in English since my inDesign is in another language). Using the iBooks on the iPhone or the iPad I see only the page left or right at the same time. Since I have images that overlap two pages, I want to be able to see the page left and right at the same time--> like a real book.

  Do NOT use ADE 3. It is not able to display ePub fixed layout files (as you have already seen). Try Readium for Chrome or you can ask to join the preliminary program of the ADE.

  I think iBooks can also be used, but you will need a Mac or an iOS device to use.
