• Problems previewing InDesign CS5.5 exported EPUB in Apple iBooks, on an iOS device.

  I have problems of creation of EPUB when I use my document InDesign CS 5.5 of my first EPUB book, as a template to create my two other EPUB books.

  My client gave me a job that forced me to learn how to do ePub files - and I'm still learning.  I have created three books in Design CS 5.5, for fixed PDF page, with an array of interactive content and a regular EPUB export, with automatic formatting of reperfusion and automated table of contents. These books were not created for printing.

  After that I created the premiera and exported successfully to an EPUB, which previewed fine free Adobe additions, I used the first document InDesign CS 5.5 as a model to create the other two publications.  These books have been around 100 pages or less, with little or no imposed jpeg images except covers three books, so I have not created a Book.indb for each publication.  Each book is made in files unique InDesign with their own unique cover on their first page art.

  When my client in preview the three books on his iPad in iBooks, all three books show the cover of the first book, when we see them on the set of iBooks library.  Then, when you open them, you see the correct cover for this particular book and the correct inner pages.

  When I open each InDesign file and open the tabbed file information dialog box, I have a title of different document for each of the three different books.  When I export to EPUB, the Option to Export EPUB dialog box pops up and I chose "include Document metadata."  I entered the name of the Publisher and a separate for each book Unique identifier, when I export.

  After I sent the three files ePub to my iPod Touch, all three presented themselves in my library iBooks, but when we see them on the shelf of the library that they have the first cover of the book on all three.  So, I have an overview of redundant coverage on the library shelf, the iBooks app icons, running in Apple iOS.

  I have two books by Elizabeth Castro on creating ePub with InDesign files.  I will read more, especially the part about the preparation of your EPUB for Apple iBook, on iOS.  But I thought I'd share my problem here to see if anyone has a solution for me.  Thank you.

  I often find myself answering my own questions, but I'll do once again, this time, while others can learn.  When you export to EPUB in InDesign CS 5.5, a diolog of the Options to Export EPUB appears.  Under "EPUB", select "Image file existing use" and choose the file that was used on the first page of the InDesign document for the new cover of the book.

  This feature can cause human error inbedded if you use a book filled with Indesign as a model to create other books because even if you have placed a new cover at the beginning of the book, export options was still chosen for the previous book coverage file you worked on.

  In fact, I got the answer to my problem with the help of InDesign Menu, when InDesign CS 5.5 is released.

• With Center-justification text not maintained on export EPUB (REFLOW).

  Hi all

  I have some difficulty getting export EPUB (Reflowable) to keep the center justification in my layouts. I enclose some screenshots so you can see what is happening. In InDesign, I use the style of text with no manual override:

  Is there something I'm missing or not to see? A recent design, I made exactly the same way was not a problem. Any help is appreciated!

  I'm not sure if the style is inherited (where I would check that?) but the center alignment did not help anything, unfortunately.

  I ended up getting into Sigil and editing the CSS, which had indeed been exported as 'justify' and put into service with the 'Center '... Since I have to go in Sigil anyway for the images, I'll have to accept that as being the only difficulty at the moment.

• Video game after export Epub or pdf

  Really need help here!

  I did a project ebook with Indesign CS6 and plans to put some interactive videos that can be played in the ebook. However, after that I followed all the instructions online to place the video content in indesign and export as pdf interactive or the Epub format, the video, I placed cannot be read and even show on Epub file.

  Could someone help me solve this kind of situation? Is there any setting I have to do and I have only not for the export of interactive video content?

  Here are my 2cents...

  I take your exported epub and try to load it on an iPad and see if you can see the video here.

  I read in the forums that ADE will not play videos right now because it's not epub compatible 3.0.

  This isn't happen if I export to PDF and XHTML of the EPUB has paragraphs in the code.

  Bizzarely, I exported the EPUB on another machine and now it is fine.

• CS6 Indesign crashes during export epub

  My indesign cs6 crashes during export epub. I have windows 7. I uninstalled and installed again, but nothing happened. When I start to export with the kindle amazon program also plugin stops working, theoretically it is not a bug of amazon. What to do. Could someone help? Thank you. I have had no error message.

• Export to CS5 loses LR4 adjustments

  After setting photo in LR4 (brushes, your etc.) I export to CS5 64-bit, but the file opens without any adjustment LR4. Any ideas?

I have no explanation if this date com of... Whits program create this or where ik can chance this parameter is still an open question?

  It's great that iBooks author offers the possibility to export to EPUB and iBooks.  But what version of the standard EPUB export to? EPUB 3 differs significantly from 2 EPUB in its ' underlying structure and capacity.

  According to this article from MacWorld, Pages has exported to EPUB 3 since version 5.2, published some time in 2014. The article covers several other aspects of EPUB via Pages, some positive results, some not and some that do not apply to the current version.

• Crunches and appears when exporting project cs5.5 to mp4

  I've finished a big project in cs5.5 and it sounds good in the timeline panel. When I export to mp4 I have crackling and pop throughout the 16 minute video. I work on a mac pro with os x el capitan. Seems to be a new issue. I never noticed this with previous projects.

  After working with that some more I found that it comes and goes. I noticed that I can find a crack in the mp4 and then return to the top of my head to play at this same point, press play and the Crackle is gone. I think it's a matter of computer processor? Although it surprises me because I have a mac pro robust enough. It also seems that it helps to use media encoder rather than export them to the media since the project window.

  I'll clean the cache and delete the preview like Sean suggested. It's probably a good practice regardless. (Thanks Sean)

• Cover page appears twice in exported ePub

  Tried all the settings I could find anything not made, cover page appears twice when I discover the ePub exported in Adobe Digital Editions.

  I tried to build my document to a "single" InDesign document

  In both cases, I get the same result.

  When I open the ePub for display, the cover page is displayed alone, because I selected the option 'rasterize '.

  but the same page then follows even once, but not pixelated this time. I can say that the title which is in separate text blocks floating on the background image.

  Beats me why this is happening.

  Hi Roger,

  best practice is to export your coverage to an image (jpg). You could then remove the cover of your InDesign page (or keep a version of InDesign a part where you have to make a change). The ePub export, select the option "cover > choose the Image ' and add the path to the exported image. Fact! Now you should see a cover page.

  (There are these two behaviors in InDesign, as advanced users will have to choose between one of two situations, according to project specifications. In most cases, adding the cover of an external image brings the best result for the cover.)

• Problems to export epub version

  Export a document created originally for printing, the epub version, all vector icons are rasterized and grainy. In addition, a lot of filters applied to the colored polygons and images completely change the appearance and the result is really bad. Can someone help me? My ID is CC2015 on iMac

  These things are wrong in your ePub because InDesign can't do better for now. InDesign cannot export vector images. They all become pixilated. Also some effects applied directly to the images will be ignored on export fxl. You must flatten the image before export.

  Export to fixed provision is not 1: 1 export as you know PDF. Some things must be adapted. You might look at some of the formations ePub video2brain, lynda, trainsimple, etc..

  @Willi: these are not bugs. Only lack of features.

• export EPUB + how to create the page "go to."

  CC 20141 work with an Indesign file book with 7 chapters (individual indesign files). Trying to create a Table of contents manual for a catalogue for export to epub. I thought that I could choose a page number in my table of contents and create a hyperlink to navigate to another page in my book, but I am only allowed to select pages in the introductory chapter (where the current table of content pages are). Any ideas on how to run? Read the manual, but not finding what I need.

  Creating table of contents style, it has an option to "Include book Documents".

  If you create hyperlinks manually then find in the Destination Document indd document and select its page.

• Font sizes turn to export epub

  Changes in font size to export to epub. All sizes of fonts if displays correctly in InDesign up to what I have to export to epub when, for example, 11pt will spend more than 70pt. A 100 page document suddenly becomes 750 pages.

  Why is this happening? I use a fixed provision - as it is a novel book with no graphics format.

  Do NOT use ADE 3. It is not able to display ePub fixed layout files (as you have already seen). Try Readium for Chrome or you can ask to join the preliminary program of the ADE.

  I think iBooks can also be used, but you will need a Mac or an iOS device to use.
