Export of Partitions

Hi all

How to export partitioning in Essbase in xml format.

Also I couldn't copy partitions from one application to another because the option is not available in the Regional service console, although the documentation States it is available.

I used the ESSCMD to copy partitions from one application to another and the command executed successfully copy the new .ddb file in the folder of the target application database.

But I'm unable to view partitions copied in the console of Regional service under the application database partition field.

To view the list of the copied partitions, I tried following ways:
(1) update the list of scores.
(2) update the list of applications.
(3) the reconnection to the ESSBASE server.
(4) by restarting the ESSBASE server.

But nothing has worked.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you
Raja

Hi Raja,

In the Regional service console under the application partition right click on the source/target partition and select export partition to NomFichier.xml, after having done that, you can create a new app/cube and import the partition.

Thank you

  • Export Partition

    Hi all

    There is a problem, as we have 2 applications tell App 1 and App2 so I want to export and import the partitions in App1 to App2, my problem is that I can not able to see the imported to partition in App2.Please one suggests the solution

    When you export a partition of the name of the target / source cubes are in the .xml file.

    When you import the App1 partition in App2, you must manually change the target / source cubes for App2 - it's on the tab "Connection" of the dialog box create a Partition that opens.  If you simply import and press 'save', you won't actually recreate the existing App1 partition.

    You could also change the target / source specification manually in the .xml before you import.

  • import of partitioned table

    Hello world

    We have a partitioned table that has 18 recording. I exported the table partitioned into an image file. Now, we import only 6 partitions of the partitioned table.

    I want to clarify that we need create the table in advance and import only those paritiones by specifying like this:

    IMP xyz/nnn@orcl tables = (tablename:partitionname, tablename:partitionname, etc...) ignore = y

    I'm doing it correctly?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello
    You are right that you don't need to create the table before import. Import command will create the required table and table and partitions for you. It will create all the partitions but will import the data of only the partition that you MENTION, and you must then manually remove the partitions that are not necessary.
    I suggest you to make export of partitions only you want rather than export the full table and import only a few partitions.

  • Data accidentally deleted using the command replace the datapump

    All,

    I exported 2 partitions of a table using the pump data to the following address:

    expdp User1/password1 directory = DPUMP_DIR tables = tab1:P27, tab1:P28 logfile = tab1.log dumpfile = tab1_27_28.dmp

    I moved the dump to the staging file and tried to import with the following command:

    Impdp User1/password1 directory = DPUMP_DIR tables = tab1:P27, tab1:P28 = tab1.log = tab1_27_28.dmp = table_exists_action dumpfile logfile APPEND

    When I run the above command, I got the following error:

    ORA-31696: unable to import/export TABLE_DATA: "VOP. "' R_REQUEST ': 'P28. "' P28_RN ' using client specified AUT

    I checked this on the Oracle Support Web site and got the following advie:
    =====================================================
    + * < moderator edit - content removed from MOS Doc - please do not post content of MOS Docs - this is a violation of your Support contract > * +.
    =================================================================================

    I then proceeded to use table_exists_action = replace (thinking he would only replace the 2 were specified).

    With the help of table_exists_action = replace deleted lines of all others were leaving and loaded the 2 partitions that I exported.

    I tried to recover data using the command below lodt, but it did not work:

    SQL > flashback table user1.tab1 timestamp (systimestamp - interval minute '120');

    I have enable row movement and we always had enabled flashback:
    db_flashback_retention_target around 1440

    Does anyone know how I could have consulted lost data without having to export and import the entire table (which is almost 1 terabyte)

  • . DDB file corrupted in version 7.1 Essbase

    Hi all

    During the run of the production, .ddb file, transparant partition for the partition definition file has been damaged.

    We can directly take the QA of the Hyperion/app folder ddb file and place it into production.

    Or is it possible to export and import the .ddb on different servers.

    Please let me know

    Thanks in advance

    Dear 801304

    You can't do that - dbb files will work only on the machine/db, on which they were created.

    What you can do:
    You can export the partition using the partition Wizard and then import it into a new system and change only the parts that need alteration (servername/application/database / user)

    I hope this helps

  • remote database expdp

    Hello group,

    I have two servers:

    SERVER1 (PROD) (10G)
    SERVER2 (TEST) (11G)

    I need to run expdp and generates a file to export data to SERVER1 SERVER2, I tried at first to run like this:

    system@server1 = directory EULDNPP = TEST dumpfile expdp schemas = expdp_EULDNPP.dmp logfile = expdp_EULDNPP.log

    but there is no TEST directory, even it exists on server1
    the file would occur on server1, which I cannot access.

    ORA-39002: invalid operation
    ORA-39070: unable to open the log file.
    ORA-39087: directory TEST name is not valid

    How I generate the dump on server2 file where I will execute expdp.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

    Try this...

    Set the parameter REMOTE_DEPENDENCIES_MODE SIGNATURE on the two remote databases and source.

    If this does not work, try to see if you have:
    Restrictions
    When the NETWORK_LINK parameter is used in conjunction with the parameter TABLES, only entire tables can be exported (not partitions of tables).
    The only links of database types supported by Data Pump Export are: public, fixed-user and the user logged on. The current user database links are not supported.

    Kind regards

  • MAXL scripts to perform the backup of the following

    Help me with these (Maxl script) to do these backups

    How to take backup of the filters (use maxl script to get information from filtering of all native cubes).
    Since we use Xref calc a lot, so we need information of the backup location alias.
    We must so we need information of partition saved partitioning.

    Hello

    Filter are stored in the essbase.sec file is good start to ensure that is saved.

    As for extract filter by maxl information you can do it with something like: -.

    login password admin on localhost.
    spool to 'c:\temp\filters.txt ';
    show the line of filter all;
    spool off;
    disconnection;

    or if you want to restrict the filter down to a database using
    display the filter line app.db;

    You will also need to edit the width of the column to mount all the filter example
    Set column_width 50;

    You can also export the file safely in a text file if you want which includes all the information filter (from 9.3.1)
    security_file export of data_file C:\temp\sec_file.txt;

    I guess that your scores change very often, so you can easily just export the partition as xml to EAS, depending on what you are on.

    See you soon

    I can't give even just take an export of the entire table since it has more than 30 scores and size of the dmp will be huge :(

    I see that your partition name contains white space, it seems that your main problem escapes reserved characters and spaces.
    In your case, you need to escape to the void of the name of the partition part.
    Use this settings file and you should be fine:

    exp.par table of contents:

    file=exp_1tabs_sample.dmp
    log=exp_1tabs_sample.log
    tables=user.mgmt:"2010-06-11 \ 00:00"
    compress=n
