  • Add a field to a form after you have created a new column in a table

    Hello

    I searched extensively in the menus help and tutorials and maybe I missed this, but after you add a new column to a table. How do I change the form so that when the data entered into the form, it is filled in the table? Is there a tutorial or an explanation of the process somewhere?

    Thank you

    Hello

    This must be done manually, but it's simple. Create a new item of the type you want for example text item, select the list by right-clicking on the region and select Create a Page element. A wizard will start when you select the type you want. Press next and enter the name of the element. for example, P3_LAST_NAME. Press next and enter a name for the element. Press next and select the Source Type as a queried database column. Press the button create.

    It will be useful.

    In Acrobat XI you place under Tools - JavaScript - Document JavaScripts.

    How to edit pdf file (in indesign) without having to re-export then and redo all the fields of the form and formatting?

    Edit PDF files in InDesign is not a good idea. If the file was originally exported ID, then change the original and then create a new PDF file.

    Open an old, and then use the command replace Pages to insert the new pages on the 'old'. The fields that you have already created will remain in place when you do this.

  • Comments field limited to 100 characters

    I have someone else faced with limiting Eloqua that comments on the field only accepts 100 characters (it's less than the standards Twitter!). I wonder if anyone has found a way around this? Comments get caught in full length form remittances but comments stored in the contacts field are then reduced to 100 which in turn then only 100 characters to SFDC is leaving us to limit the characters we can fill in the comments section. 100 characters is a BIG limit. I hope that someone out there found a way around this...

    Hi tkatic, Yes, I've seen this before - in our initial Setup, we had a field 'notes lead' that has been configured as a normal text field and he is cut to 100 characters. We had to switch to the use of a real big text field, which is a pain, but you can do it.

    This field must be great text, not only on the form but in the real database. This means that you will need to create a new field of contact and transfer data from your field of comments in the new field.

    • Go to settings-> fields and views
    • Create a new contact type field "big text".
    • Export all your contacts to a CSV file (you can do this by making a segment where the only requirement is that the e-mail containing '@' and then export it). Make sure that you export the comments field.
    • Import the CSV file, but map old comments field to the new field of comments.
    • Change all your steps to write the data of observations in the new field of form processing comments. It comes to the stage of time, if you have many forms.

    Better to solve this problem, more now, more difficult it will be and the data more you will lose.

    EDIT - as shown below, you must also update your integration CRM settings to synchronize your comments field CRM with your new comment Eloqua field. See the comments below for more details. It's kind of not in our initial discussion, but of course any time you add a new field in Eloqua you must update your integration settings for the new field of synchronization to your CRM.

  • Cannot convert PDF form filled in Excel with data

    Hi all

    I've been struggling with the same problem for days now and any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

    A quick overview: we have created a PDF form in order to assess the specific events of marketing that is provided to all of our stores. Once an event occurs, they will fill the form and send it to the HQs (me). It is from there begins the problem: I want to then convert the filled PDF in Excel (to compare the data of all events), who works in general, but excel does not include data from the PDF and displays only the data of non - fill PDF form.

    The problem: I can convert my PDF with Acrobat Reader XI forms in Excel, but the data filled in the forms (which I want to see in Excel) are not included in Excel.

    I work with the operating system Windows 7 Professional and the graphics department created the PDF form in InDesign CC 2015.

    Thank you very much in advance and I hope that the info provided is sufficient.

    Best,

    Stefan

    Not with Acrobat Reader. With Adobe Acrobat, you can export the form data or flatten the form fields before you convert the shape.

  • Cannot fill out the form to Excel

    I use Adobe X Standard.

    I'm trying to export a PDF form with fields to fill in Excel.

    I tired serveral methods indicated on the site.

    Whenever I get the form registered, the data entered in the form but are not exported to excel (or word).

    I tried these approaches

    File-> save as->-> Excel spreadsheet

    Highlight the table

    -Right click

    -Copy with formatting

    -Export the selection->

    Tools-> form-> form several options-> manage form data-> export data (failed)

    All the result above the form structure during registration, but none of the data entered

    Tools-> form-> form several options-> manage form data-> merge data in a spreadsheet

    He sees all the data and creates a file, but the formatting is lost and the file is not usable.

    You can flatten the fields first, which converts the apparitions of field content page regularly. It should then be included when exported to XLS. You can do this with PDF Optimization, control upstream or JavaScript, but Standard does not include the first two and JavaScript is more difficult that it should be the standard, but you can set up a temporary bookmark and use that following the action of bookmark JavaScript code:

    Bookmark action

    flattenPages();

    Or you can use the same code in the mouse event to the top of a button that you configure to not have a visible appearance.

    If you need to do this a lot, you should get the following free JavaScript-based tool: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • Export unique fields

    Hi all

    I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to export specific fields (but not necessarily all the fields) a (made in Acrobat X Standard) editable PDF form specific cells in Excel? (Excel 2010 version)

    A few tips on how to do this would be appreciated, but at the moment I'm trying to really just to confirm if it is still possible.

    Thank you

    Mark

    It is possible. If you use the JavaScript doc.exportAsText method, you can choose to export only certain fields. This method creates a file delimited by tabs that can be imported into a spreadsheet. • How to carve, and concatenate the two text fields in a form

    Hi people,

    Newbie here... have two fields in a form: FirstName and LastName.    Want to have these appear later as: name, first name.

    For example: 'Rick' "Stockstill" should later manifest as: 'Stockstill, Rick' with a comma separating the names and trailing blanks removed.

    It is a piece of cake in Excel, but have not figured out how to do the same with Acrobat.    My first try at a script looks like this:

    (Recipient.rawValue = trim (LastName.rawValue) +","+ FirstName.rawValue);

    The field 'Recipient' is a standard text field which I am filling using the property to 'calculate '.  The good news is that I get no error message, but the bad news is that the field recipient does not get filled.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    OK, in this case you can use this code as the custom recipient field calculation script:

    event.value = trim(this.getField("LastName").valueAsString) + ", " + trim(this.getField("FirstName").valueAsString);

    function trim(s) {
        return s.replace(/^\s+/,"").replace(/\s+$/,"");
    }

  • Summary of text comment field

    Hello, I'm a little noob works with PDF files and I need help with something I want to do.

    I have a PDF with form, I want to insert a text field that fill with a summary of all comments.

    When the user enter a comment it should fill the new information in the summary text box.

    There is no way to get this feature?

    I'd appreciate any help on this matter.

    Best regards.

    It is possible to do (don't know why you want to, but never mind that). The problem is to know how to trigger the update of this field, because add (or delete or edit) a comment is not all the events associated with it. You can use a button put in manually, or something as a Page open/close script to make, but it will always take the user to move to another page to update.

  • Export records in the multipage form

    Please can someone help me with this.

    I am a seasoned database user/developer access, but it's my first foray in PDF forms:

    1. documents of fieldwork have been created on the pages of A4 paper sheet. There are 20 fields on each page. These pages have been analyzed and compiled into multi-page PDF documents.

    2. I want to collect data digitally and flow of data in an Access database custom I will connect with a GIS.

    3. I created a PDF form with fields corresponding to the original form of paper with the appropriate constraints and validations. I type in the new form while you watch the original scan.

    4. I put the first page in my file of PDF form as model hidden by a push button to spawn a new form page at the end of the registration of a new record form.

    5. in my view, to export fields from the form to a csv file to import my database, I need fields with the same base name to export in the same column. Currently as the page number is appended to the Spawn command field, the fields are different fields and therefore are exported to separate columns.

    6. one solution would be to have separate PDF forms for each paper record, but it would be tedious.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    Matt

    You need to expand (or have someone build them for you) made to order

    script that will collect the data in the fields and organize it in the

    as you want it to appear. Normally each PDF file is considered a

    single record, so that the workflow that you described, it will take custom

    development.

  • How can I use an excel spreadsheet to fill out a drop in Adobe Pro forms?

    I'm currently building several forms with drop downs.  I already have the drop down information in an excel worksheet.  I am trying to find a way to copy this information to complete the option in a drop-down list of the forms.  This turns out to be much more difficult that I thought it would be.  Does anyone have experience with this?  I don't know what additional information is needed, but I'll be happy to elaborate.

    Thank you!

    Donna

    If you do not need to include values for export, you can use this form of demo, which you can copy & paste elements to a worksheet in the form and populate the drop-down list: http://www.acroscript.net/pdf/demos/comboPopulateTest.pdf

    This demo is more discussed in this previous thread: import data to Excel for Drop Down Box

  • Make the obligatory comment fields

    Hey BC community.

    Any of you have a client to request that the comment fields be mandatory? I know that they are subject to the approval of the content, but he asked.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    See you soon,.

    Pat

    Hello Pat,.

    The feedback form using the validation as well as any other form. You just need to add the if statement for the correct field, you want to be required.

    So for the full name text entry field, you have to add this:

    • If (theForm.fullname) why += isEmpty (theForm.fullname.value, "Full name");

    Then for the email address:

    • If (theForm.EmailAddress) why += checkEmail (theForm.EmailAddress.value);

    Add them on top of the captcha validation and keep it just like any other form. You can clean the code of validation with http://jsbeautifier.org/

    Here is an example:
