  Very difficult to execute applications of external storage, because a part of the application must be registered in the registry and .dll files must be in the/windows folder when even though you may not entirely separate programs on an external storage medium.

  I was told that the best practice to extend the life of the battery is to delete during fixed power supply (most of the day I'm stationary and near a power source).

  My question is, can I do this while the machine is running? Is it safe to just plug in the power and then remove the battery?

  (1) best practices to prolong battery for extended storage should be kept charged between 40 and 60%. If you want to store the battery away or leave it in the laptop will not really affect the longevity of the battery. Also, the battery can act as an inverter, which is desirable in many situations.

  (2) If you want to remove the battery, you can do in the when the machine is running or you start the laptop without the battery inserted (as long as you have connected the power supply ).

  You can use enterprise class SATA disks up to 4 TB in the remaining locations. You will need to the carriers for the readers, even if they are non-RAID.   H310 controller supports the use of JBOD (just a bunch of disks) without having them in a RAID.   OpenManage them will see as non-RAID drives.

• Storage won't increase, extended LUN

  Hi, so I'm having a weird problem. We need to increase the size of one of our data warehouses. I've done this process several times before and never had a problem. I increased a LUN on the SAN of 700 GB GB 825. I re-read my adapters on the hosts. When I click on the data store and click on properties of Configuration-> storage on the host, I see the following.

  

  VMware can see so clearly that the storage is here. However when I click on the increase, it does not show the additional space.

  

  I tried a new analysis of many times, no change. I was able to expand a different LUN and extend the data store from this same SAN in the meantime successfully, so clearly, that there is nothing wrong with this side of things. I increased the storage on that store of data a few times before, but nowhere nearly 32 times, which I understand is the maximum number of extensions (this is a VMFS-5 data store).

  Anyone has any ideas or should I open a case of pension?

  With the increase in the data store, you made only resize the partition.  Extensions (32 degrees you mentioned) were necessary front of vSphere 4 or for data storage > 2 TB with VMFS3, where you resized data warehouses by adding additional LUNS (extensions).

  Anyway, try to increase the store of data by connecting to a ESXi host directly instead of vCenter Server to see if it works.

• After extending local RAID volume, additional space is not less add storage

  I have a Dell PE2900. It has 6 x 300 GB disks in a RAID5 volume.

  The other night, I added 2 extra 300 GB drives for the server, and then using OpenManage, I added these disks to the existing RAID5 volume. At the same time, I decided to convert it to a RAID6 volume. It's a converted / rebuild / not destructive process.

  It completed OK (took 2 days to get in the background).

  All of the above tasks were conducted with the ESX Server turned on and operation of the virtual computer. No problem here.

  When I look at my data stores, the is original VMFS volume 1.36 TB.

  When I go to the storage cards section and select the Dell PERC 6 / i adapter, I see 2 volumes of x. One of them is 1.63 TB LUN and the other is 278 GB.

  When I return to my data warehouses, I select the TB VMFS 1.36 and select Properties.

  In the new window, it shows (see screenshot):

  1.63 TB capacity

  Primary partitions: VMFS 1.36 TB

  If I click the button increase here, a new window pops up, but additional 278 GB DOES NOT appear here (window is empty, select No and click Next).

  If I try to add a new VMFS volume, the additional GB of 278 also appears (window is empty, select No and click Next).

  I haven't restarted the ESX Server again... downtime, I wish I had time for.

  Does anyone know of a way to make the ESX Server use the new free space on the disk?

  By default, the distributed cache system has the value of backup-count = 1, so you do not do anything, but if you want to have more than 1 backups for you cached data, and then change your system cache as below:

  Starting at $JAVA_HOME/bin, are running jconsole on the local computer (where node consistency with management = all is running) and you should be able to view the settings.   You must use the Bootcamp Assistant to create the Bootcamp partition.

  Please provide details on the total space and free space on your internal drive. Post screenshots of what you see in system-> storage information. In addition, select the drive in Finder-I press control and post a screenshot of the window read the information.

  You try to activate iCloud photo library for the first time on your mac?

  If you want to use iCloud photo library, the gall of your external hard drive system can be incompatible.  iCloud library cannot be enabled for the library system and the library must be on a disk with Mac OS extended (journaled) file system. If your external drive has a different file system, default Photos uses a system of Photo library on your system drive in the pictures folder and your system drive may not have enough free storage for your iCloud photo library.

  If the file system of your external hard drive is Mac OS extended (journaled), make sure that this library has been enabled in your system photo library.  "Use as Photo Viewer system" option should be greyed out ot, when you are in this library on the external hard drive.

  Akuma is right. Portege 3490 cannot be upgraded because you already have 256 MB of RAM.
