Extension Mask property is griefin' me!

I'm trying to animate masks and get some results, I do not understand.  For one the masks are not include properly.  IE even with the mask expansion set to 0, no feather, etc. the mask seems to 'offset '.   I decided to animate the mask expansion as well as the path to try to work around it rather than to understand it, but suddenly the mask expansion property would stop working.  If I deleted keyframes and and messed about it would start working again, but as soon as I started to put keyframes, it seems to freeze upwards.

I'm trying to set keyframes only a setting apart.  Could that be causing the freak out? I hope that the video demonstrates what I say

Thank you

I guess you are trying to get the thing is going to be in front of the blue letter. I use two copies of your layer of green thing and put one on top. This should also make masking easier.

It's really hard to tell what you're trying to do. If you want to see exactly what the mask expansion is done then solo that layer and activate the transparency grid or put a solid underneath. Without further explanation, it's really hard see if something unusual occurs.

Maybe this project file will help: Dropbox - Threaded Vine.aep (Note: your browser may add a .txt extension to the file - just remove)

In this project, I used a shape with a very big race layer to create the background for the vine. Then I drew a mask to taper the race. I thought about adding the host connect traces of form to make the vine grow but I used mask expansion instead. Then, it was just a matter of dial before the growth of the vine and the text between the layers. I then used the very simple rough masks to make the layer of vine FG appear in front of the part of the text where I am they would go. PZ EZ...

The entire animation was done with 2 keyframes in 5 minutes approximately. In fact, it took more time to convert the movie file to an animated gif in Photoshop, what he has done to do animation. A few minutes in AE or better yet, the help of Illustrator to create the pasted vine and mask and animation would be much smoother.

  • property of format to the digital field mask

    Hi all. I'm on devsuite 10g.
    I have a little problem with the format of a numeric field mask property.

    I want to display like this:

    3,000,000,000

    But in the format mask property if I put the 9G999G999G990 I got this result:
    3 000 000 000

    I read that I should change the parameter NLS_LANGUAGE but surely, there would be problems with the other columns in the database, such as the columns date, ecc.

    How can apply a mask to format my field to see 3,000,000,000?

    Thank you all for collaboration,
    Fabrizio

    Oh, sorry; You must add it without the quotes:

    NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS=,.

  • From Firefox 8, I can't see the extensions.rdf file. Is that what it was replaced/renamed/obsolete?

    After Firefox 8, I can't see the file extensios.rdf as before. Basically, I used to get the key firefox for example {ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}, then get the FF version via em: minVersion / em: maxVersion.

    Extensions.SQLite has replaced the extensions.rdf file in Firefox 4.0 and later versions. It is not a simple ' text' file as was the RDF file format.

    Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by «get the key to firefox»

    If you are looking to change the extension maxVersion property, don't change in the file install.rdf for each particular extension.

    Usage Notes

    Valid format masks for character strings, numbers and dates are described in the following tables.
    Character Strings
    The following table describes valid format masks for character strings.

    Element     Example     Description
    FM FMXX99 Fill mode: accept string as typed, do not right justify. Allows end user input string to be shorter than the format mask.
    X XXXX Any alphabetic, numeric, or special character. End user input string must be exact length specified by format mask.
    9 9999 Numeric characters only. End user input string must be exact length specified by format mask.
    A AAAA Alphabetic characters only. End user input string must be exact length specified by format mask.
    Character String Examples

    Format Mask     Description
    XXAA Will accept: --ab, abcd, 11ab; will not accept: --11, ab11, or ab--(must use XX to accept hyphens and other special characters).
    XXXX Will accept any combination of alphabetic, numeric, or special characters: --ab, abcd, 11ab, --11, ab11, or ab--. Will accept 1234 or abcd; will not accept 123 or abc. (To accept input string shorter than mask, use FMXXXX.)
    FMXX99 Will accept ab12, ab1, ab followed by two spaces; will not accept 12ab or abcd. (To produce the Form Builder Version 3.0 Alpha datatype, use FMAAAAAA.)
    n To embed additional characters such as a hyphen (-) or a comma (,), surround the character with double-quotes (").
    n Embedded characters are separate from text item values and are not collated along with text item values, even when the end user enters them.

    NUMBERS

    The following table describes valid format masks for numbers.

    Element     Example     Description
    9 9999 Number of nines determines display width. Any leading zeros will be displayed as blanks.
    0     0999     Display leading zeros.
    0 9990 Display zero value as zero, not blank.
    $ $9999 Prefix value with dollar sign.
    B B9999 Display zero value as blank, not "0".
    MI 9999MI Display "-" after a negative value.
    PR 9999PR Display a negative value in .
    comma 9,999 Display a comma in this position. For correct behavior in multilingual applications, substitute G to return the appropriate group (thousands) separator.
    period 99.99 Display a decimal point in this position. For correct behavior in multilingual applications, substitute D to return the appropriate decimal separator.
    E 9.999EEEE Display in scientific notation (format must contain exactly four "E"s).
    FM FM999 Fill mode: accept string as typed, do not right justify.
    n When you mask a number with nines (9), Form Builder adds a space in front of the number to accommodate the plus (+) or minus (-) sign. However, since the plus sign is not displayed, it appears as if Form Builder adds a space in front of the number. (The minus sign is displayed.)
    n To embed additional characters such as a hyphen (-) or a comma (,), surround the character with double-quotes (").
    n Embedded characters are separate from text item values and are not collated along with text item values, even when the end user enters them.

    NUMBER Examples

    Format Mask     Description
    FM099"-"99"-"9999 Displays the social security number as formatted, including hyphens, even if end user enters only nine digits.To create a Social Security column, create an 11-character column, set to fixed length, with a format mask of 099"-"99"-"9999. This mask will accommodate Social Security numbers that begin with zero, accepting 012-34-5678 or 012345678 (both stored as 012345678).
    99999PR     Accepts -123; reformats as <123>.
    999MI     Accepts -678; reformats as 678-.
    9.999EEEE     Displays as 1.00E+20.
    How Forms handles length mismatches

    If a runtime user enters a numeric string that exceeds the format mask specification, the value will be rejected. For example:

    Format Mask     User enters     Result
    99.9     321.0     Invalid
    99.9     21.01     Invalid
    99.9     21.1     21.1
    99.9     01.1     1.1
    In contrast, if a numeric value fetched from the database exceeds the format mask specification for its display field, the value is displayed, but truncated, with rounding, to fit the mask. (The item itself within the Forms application retains its full value.) For example, if the database held the value 2.0666, and the format mask was 99.9, the value displayed to the user would be 2.1. However, the value of the item within the form would be the full 2.0666.

    Dates

    The following table describes valid format masks for dates.

    Element     Description
    YYYY or SYYYY 4-digit year; "S" prefixes "BC" date with "-".
    YYY or YY or Y Last 3, 2, or 1 digits of year.
    Y,YYY Year with comma in this position.
    BC or AD     BC/AD indicator.
    B.C. or A.D.     BD/AD indicator with periods.
    RR Defaults to correct century. Deduces the century from a date entered by comparing the 2 digit year entered with the year and century to which the computer's internal clock is set. Years 00-49 will be given the 21st century (the year 2000), and years from 50-99 will be given the 20th century (the year 1900).
    MM     Month (01-12; JAN = 01).
    MONTH Name of month, padded with blanks to length of 9 characters.
    MON Name of month, 3-letter abbreviation.
    DDD     Day of year (1-366).
    DD     Day of month (1-31).
    D     Day of week (1-7; Sunday=1).
    DAY Name of day, padded with blanks to length of 9 characters.
    DY Name of day, 3-letter abbreviation.
    J Julian day; the number of days since January 1, 4712 BC.
    AM or PM     Meridian indicator.
    A.M. or P.M. Meridian indicator with periods.
    HH or HH12 Hour of day (1-12).
    HH24     Hour of day (0-23).
    MI     Minute (0-59).
    SS     Second (0-59).
    SSSSS     Seconds past midnight (0-86399).
    /. , . Punctuation is reproduced in the result.
    "..." Quoted string is reproduced in the result.
    FM Fill mode: assumes implied characters such as O or space; displays significant characters left justified. Allows end user input to be shorter than the format mask. (Use in conjunction with FX to require specific delimiters.)
    FX All date literals must match the format mask exactly, including delimiters.
    n When you prefix a date mask with FX, the end user must enter the date exactly as you define the mask, including the specified delimiters:

    Date Examples

    Format Mask     Description
    FXDD-MON-YY Will accept 12-JAN-94, but will not accept 12.JAN.94 or 12/JAN/94 because the delimiters do not match the mask. Will not accept 12JAN94 because there are no delimiters. Will accept 01-JAN-94 but will not accept 1-JAN-94.
    FMDD-MON-YY Will accept 01-JAN-94. Will also accept the entry of other delimiters, for example 01/JAN/94 and 01 JAN 94. However, will not accept 01JAN94. Will accept 1-JAN-94, converting it to 01-JAN-94.
    DD-MON-YY Will accept 12.JAN.94, 12/JAN/94 or 12-JAN-94. Note: Any delimiter characters will be accepted, but if delimiters are omitted by the end user, this mask will interpret date characters as a delimiters. Will accept 12-JAN94, (but will erroneously interpret as 12-JAN-04); but will not accept 12JAN94, because "AN" is not a valid month name.
    n Use of a format mask only affects how the data looks. Form Builder stores full precision, regardless of how the data is presented.
    n Embedded characters are separate from text item values and are not collated along with text item values, even when the end user enters them.
    n To embed additional characters such as a hyphen (-) or a comma (,), surround the character with double-quotes ("). Note, however, that double-quotes themselves cannot be used as a character. In other words, trying to achieve output of DD"MM by specifying a mask of DD"""MM would not work.

    Format Mask     Description
    FMMONTH" "DD", "YYYY Displays the text item data in the specified date format: JANUARY 12, 1994, including the appropriate blank spaces and comma.
    FMDD-MONTH-YYYY     Displays as 12-JANUARY-1994.
    DY-DDD-YYYY Displays as WED-012-1994. Note: for input validation including day of the week, a mask that allows specific determination of the day is required, such as this example or DY-DD-MM-YY.
    n When you use day of the week formats, be sure that the data includes day of the week information. To avoid illogical masks, display also either the day of the year (1-366) or the month in some format.

    Format Mask     Description
    DD-MONTH-YYYY     Displays as 12-JANUARY-1994.
    DY-DDD-YYYY     Displays as WED-012-1994.
    DY-DD-MON-YY Displays as WED-12-JAN-94. Be sure to include month. Avoid masks such as DY-DD-YY, which could generate an error.

  • To access the data of mask

    Is there a way to return data mask in a way that I am able to export and analyze in nuke?

    For example,.

    app.project.activeItem.selectedLayers [0]. Masks.Property (1) .property (1) .valueAtTime (current Frame/24.0)

    Returns the path of the mask of the first the first layer mask selected on the first image, assuming that my computer is 24 frames per second. But when I alert(), I went back "Shape object." Now, I do not deny, it is a form of the object, but I was hoping to find the data that I can at least try to work with. Any ideas?

    Note: I'm fine with a solution that leaves the Béziers baked. The masks are already cooked in the first place for these purposes.

    Say you do the following:

    var myMask = app.project.activeItem.selectedLayers [0]. Masks.Property (1). Property (1).valueAtTime(0,false);

    myMask will be a shape with 4 attributes:

    myMask.vertices gives you an array of points in 2D, in layer space, one for each vertex.

    myMask, inTangents gives you an array of the incoming tangency points, compared to each vertex.

    myMask.outTangets gives you a picture of outgoing tanget points from each peak.

    myMask.closed is set to true if the shape is closed

  • Inline mask is used only with explicit width and height?

    As the subject says, a simple question I could not just handle set % in width and height, so I think that the inline masking is not a parent. That's why with resizable layouts I link the mask property = "{", another group of the layout. I'm doing this right?

    Why is this? And how is it possible, logically?

    How can I do a search on the entire clip unhidden on a stage (and see if the mask returns null)? If there is a hidden clip and his own mask on the stage, I see that one is the mask, and it is hidden.

  • Masking and start/stop drag in AS3

    I'm trying to convert a project to AS3 from AS2. Does anyone know if the cacheAsBitmap and bitmapcaching functions are still supported?

    If this is not the case, what can I use for the equivalent for the 3 first lines below?

    Here's the code I used in AS2.

    Maskee.cacheAsBitmap = true;
    dragger.cacheAsBitmap = true;
    Maskee.setMask (dragger);

    This.ratio = 0;
    dragger.onPress = function() {}
    this.startDrag (true, 0, 0, line._width, 0);
    this.onEnterFrame = function() {}
    switchMC._x = this ._x;

    ratio = Math.round(this._x*100/line._width);
    _root.volume = report;
    }
    }
    * dragger.onRelease is dragger.onRelease = stopDrag; * /.

    dragger.onRelease = dragger.onreleaseOutside = stopDrag;

    In AS3, the cacheAsBitmap property is always the same, but the method of bitmapcaching is now a mask property...

    Maskee.cacheAsBitmap = true;
    dragger.cacheAsBitmap = true;
    Minesweeper = Maskee.Mask;

  • How to re - apply a mask after changing the alpha channel?

    Hello

    I am writing a plugin that modifies the alpha channel of the layer.

    My problem is I want the mask effect to apply after my own effect.

    For example, I found a few pixels that were originally invisible (their original alpha is 0 and I put it to the maximum), but I don't want to reveal the pixels that are killed by the mask.

    I tried to use PF_MaskWorldWithPath, but how do I find the values that are used for the feather and opacity?

    It seems possible to find them using AEGP_GetNewMaskStream, but I could not find any description of how to interpret the results, not to mention that it's very complicated to get all the handles that are required to use this feature because my plugin is not CEAP.

    And on top of that, it doesn't seem to be a way to simulate the extension mask feature.

    No idea how that was possible?

    Thanks in advance!

    My friend

    you have stumbled upon something large and problematic.

    Let's start the bad news:

    You can not PF_MaskWorldWithPath make the expansion of mask for you.

    It doesn't have this entry. to re-create a master expanded, you will need to make this mask on your own.

    given there is no extension on one of the masks, you could use PF_MaskWorldWithPath on each mask and composite in transfer mode right on top of the other.

    finding the original matte for the layer masks.

    Yes, it's an awkward process, but it's the only way to use the mask data for a cache.

    to read the pen, opacity, all other values of the mask, you use AEGP_GetNewMaskStream or AEGP_GetNewMaskOpacity (I don't know what functions separated for the opacity).

    and then AEGP_GetNewStreamValue to access the actual numeric value.

    There is another method, you can use, which is not perfect, but much easier to use.

    get you initial pixel in the layer using a hidden layer param and PF_CHECKOUT_PARAM (or checkout_layer for smartFX).

    compare these original pixels (which have no masks applied) to pixels in entry of the effect (with masks applied to them).

    the difference between the two alpha is (for the most part) the matte of the masks.

    assuming that your effect is first in the stack (or the first affecting the alpha), you should get one if bad no solution that would allow you to save a world of hurt.

    trying to recreate precisely the masks.

    There are even more complicated shapes, involving layers dummy and artificial effects, but it sems to me as if he didn't miss the point.

    I hope this has helped.

    :-)

  • My current Firefox version is 20.0.1. However, when I go to the Firefox addon site, it says that the version I use is Firefox 13, can someone help me?

    I always upgrade to the latest version of Firefox. When I want to install addons, it says "not compatible with Firefox 13" but I'm on Firefox 20.0.1

    Hello austin.z, you have installed the extension masking agent which is by replacing your agent user by 13 of firefox version. go to firefox/tools > addons > extensions and remove the extension. where the same issue is still present after reset your user agent as described in the sites say that Firefox is obsolete or incompatible, even if it's the latest version.

  • Keyframes does not

    I'm working on a project in After Effects and I'm having a problem with them, keyframes. Basically, they do nothing. I have keyframes enabled for the position of a mask, and generally, every time I move the mask, while the vertical line is at a certain point in the composition, it creates a new keyframe at this time here. Instead, it changes just the position for all previous keyframes. What I am doing wrong? I made this a million times before and I've never had this problem. I really need help because this is an assignment that should soon and I'm damned if I can't make it work. Thank you!

    The keyframe, you are showing is for the position of the layer . Properties of the mask are not even spinning down still.

    The mask property, you need alterations is the property of the shape of the mask.

  • To access layer information in International Versions of After Effects?

    Hey guys,.

    Small question about how better design scripts/write code that works on any system running AE, US or otherwise.  I know that by using the name of the game is the best option but was not sure if this scope rule to the properties of the object in Javascript as well.

    So I know we do not want to do this:

    layer.property("Masks").property("Mask 1").property("Mask Feather")

    And should instead do this:

    layer.property("ADBE Mask Parade").property("ADBE Mask Atom").property("ADBE Mask Feather")

    But what happened in this case:

    layer.property("ADBE Mask Parade").property("ADBE Mask Atom").maskFeather //instead of .property("ADBE Mask Feather")
    //OR
    layer.property("ADBE Mask Parade").property("ADBE Mask Atom").maskMode

    Is the property called maskMode only in the American version?  This code would crash on a German version of the AE? I ask mainly because I couldn't find a match for maskMode name but it could be a special case since it was driven by a drop-down list and the MaskMode object constants (MaskMode.SUBTRACT, MaskMode.ADD, etc.).

    In general, within the environment / script code, the properties of the accessible object naming scheme will be the same between different versions?  MaskPropertyGroup.maskFeather will still be available with this naming scheme?

    I know it's more than one internal/on the issue of the hood, but if someone has a preview of this, I would be very grateful!

    Thank you

    Hello

    you do not find a remove for maskMode because he is not a "good" (in the sense of ExtendScript) but an "attribute" (such as .rotoBezier, .propertyDepth, .propertyIndex, etc.).

    So, as long as the layer has a mask (1), .maskMode layer.property("ADBE_Mask_Parade").property ("ADBE Mask Atom") is defined.

    For .maskFeather, it's different because it's a property, not an attribute.

    Apparently, all of the ADBE properties that are not indexable (ie. parentProperty.propertyType! == PropertyType.INDEXED_GROUP) have a compact name.

    These compact names do not appear in the object reflect so they are not so easy to identify. Jeff Almasol GimmePropPath, you will find a partial (but big enough) list of these compact names.

    Apparently they are also languages free of charge, if, for example, layer.mask (1) .maskFeather works in any language and so is shapeLayer.content("Group_1").transform.position, etc, etc..

    Properties that are indexable (children of indexed groups) do not have a compact name (they are renamable).

    For properties within the third party plugins, I don't know...

  • Please show or ask how to create the value of arrayOfValues of setValuesAtTimes parameter?

    Hello AEScriptComm,

    I have a few small scripts that use the method setValueAtTime successfully placing a keyframe on the existing layers of maskPath, but as you can see in the scripts below, results of setValueSatTimeS errors using IE: "Array is not of the correct type", "value is not an array" or "Null is not an object", depending on ,...

    (A) what variable is used as the value of parameter IE:

    .maskPath;

    . maskPath.value;

    . maskPath.value.vertices

    (B) what kind of table is used as the parameter value as in:

    var addTheseKeys = new Array ((1,2,3,4);    (as a parameter of the time)...

    (with either)

    var keyValues = new Array([10,10],[100,100],[15,50],[100,120]);             ...." ]) "

    (GOLD)

    var keyValues = [[10.10], [100 100], [15.50], [100 120]];                               ... (Array of arrays? RE: " ]] " )

    I just read a 'push' of the values in a table may be necessary?, but I was hoping someone who knew setValuesAtTimes could show it please...

    1) .. How to create the value of arrayOfValues of setValuesAtTimes parameter?

    1 (a): WORK setValueAtTime script...

    App.Project.Item (1) .layer (1).property("Masks").property ("mask 1");

    var app.project.item = myProperty (1) .layer (1) .mask (1) .maskPath;

    myShape = app.project.item (1) .layer (1) .mask (1).maskPath.value;

    myProperty.setValueAtTime(1.0,myShape);

    1 (b): If there is no script setValuesAtTimes...

    prop1 = app.project.item var (1) .layer (1).property("ADBE_Transform_Group").property ("ADBE Position");

    var fourKeys = 4;

    var addTheseKeys = new Array (1,2,3,4),

    var keyValues = new Array (10, [10], [100 100], [15.50], [100 120]);

    var app.project.item = myProperty (1) .layer (1) .mask (1) .maskPath;

    myShape = app.project.item (1) .layer (1) .mask (1).maskPath.value;

    var myVertices = app.project.item (1) .layer (1) .mask (1).maskPath.vertices;

    myProperty.setValuesAtTimes (keyValues, addTheseKeys);

    app.beginUndoGroup ("Keys");

    ~ for (var k = 0; k < fourKeys; k ++)

    //~ {

    ~ prop1.setValueAtTime (keyValues [k], addTheseKeys [k]);

    //~ }

    myProperty.setValuesAtTimes (keyValues, addTheseKeys);

    app.endUndoGroup ();

    .. Thanks for any advise\suggestions,

    J

    (A). maskPath.value; It's always a Shape(). (maskPath is a property, not of a shape on its own, and maskPath.value.vertices is only a part of the shape data).

    (B) nothing of what you propose... that is why your failed script fails.

    var keyValues = new Array([10,10],[100,100],[15,50],[100,120]); and

    var keyValues = [[10.10], [100 100], [15.50], [100 120]]; are just as good as arrays of points, the only thing is that keyValues are arrays of objects Shape().

    Read the guide and script for how to report a form of this post (just wrote it...): http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1419866?tstart=0

    Your keyValues array should look like this: [keyValues0, keyValues1, keyValues2, keyValues3], where each entry is a Shape().

  • EAP allows in win 2003 Enterprise 32 bit on ESX 3.5

    Hello

    I have several VM with Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2 (32 bit) and spend/PAE in boot.ini that I defined 4 GB of RAM, but of them appear 3.75 in windows.

    Geeral tab on my computer & gt; poperties we see "Physical address Extension" but property computer show 3.75 GB of RAM!

    anybodu can help? Whats is the problem?

    I have several VM with Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2 (32 bit) and spend/PAE in boot.ini that I defined 4 GB of RAM, but of them appear 3.75 in windows

    Without going into a technical discussion, this is a limitation of the Intel chipset.  Some chipsets solve this problem, a few years later, but it is a known issue.  You can't go around it, unless you purchase NEW equipment.

    And also the EAP only means that the memory that would normally not accessible by a virtual machine with more than 4 GB of memory, will be insured to use a feature.  It is a feature of Windows, and it should detect it.  You can even not need EAP at all.  Use you it only IF you are not seeing 4 GB or 6 GB or everything that you allocated to the virtual machine, it doesn't have to be on just because, if you have problems to identify the memory beyond 4 GB then you can use it.
