extensions.blocklist.enabled; false : disables blocking by preventing update

Extensions are not the same as Plugins, even if they are both classified as Add-ons, as well as themes. Essentially, the Plugins are installed by external programs and are made available to Firefox via the Windows registry. Plugins are not installed in the program files Firefox folders, which is the main reason the plugins cannot be uninstalled from Firefox, only disabled.

  • 'extensions.update.enabled' option does not

  • Difference between extensions.update.autoUpdateDefault and extensions.update.enabled

What exactly is the difference between these options? I did some tests but am not 100% sure. Currently I guess extensions.update.enabled just looking for new versions of addons, but it does not install them while extensions.update.autoUpdateDefault installs only addons if Firefox has already found a new version of them.

In this case affecting only extensions.update.autoUpdateDefault to false will disable automatic installation of addons and affecting only extensions.update.enabled to false will disable the automatic search for new addons which also implicitly disables the automatic installation of addons.

If my hypothesis is correct affecting false to only extensions.update.enabled would be sufficient to turn off any communication to a server of the addon.

  • Problem of communication series, ASRL end in zero votes and TermChar Enable false does not stop 0x0A character

    Hello

I got in touch ok using VISA series read/write with a patient monitor and have almost finished getting all parameters in need of the monitor; However I am stuck now and is missing a value which is coded 0x0A.

I googled and found that it is probably the message after this character, also yes I get the first 6 bytes or more.

I subsequently put TermChar Enable false and end ASRL in None on the property node to read but still missing the additional (after the 0x0A) byte I need to calculate the necessary pararmeter.

The attached picture shows the run configuration of VISA before the outside/front of the first major loop, then an inner loop where reading occurs. It seems that, even if I think I'll get the right pieces of the node property, I can't stop the playback stop character.

Here, any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

I would recommend a configuration like this.  The idea is to read a byte at a time until the sync byte is found.  Then you read the next byte to get the length and then read this number of bytes.  I recommend using a queue to send the data to another loop for treatment.

    Hello

To disable the list items, you have the right code in your title:

    enabled: false

However, items can still be selected, which is in conflict with the API:

  • Button.Enabled = false (but still clickable?)

    Hello dear Forum,

Got a button (any png defined as a button in the library).

You drag the button on the stage, given an instance name "btn".

By clicking the button triggers an eventListener that does all the right things, except...

    BTN. Enabled = false;

.. .only changes the cursor to a pointing arrow. What? It is still clickable.

My intention is to disable the button, so you can't click on it. But you can still click on it. Not good.

QUESTION: How do I disable a button and stop him from which is clicked?

    Thanks for your support,

    Johan

REASON: I'm temporarily disable the button so that you can not click on it several times while loading other stuff. Makes sense.

To disable the button (a homegrown SimpleButton) use its mouseEnabled property.  I think that enabled applies only to button in AS3 components.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

You will need to close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your display driver graphic card and search for hardware acceleration of related issues.

Even the obvious stop 'research suggests', the browser continues to send queries to the search engine chosen by me. It is a function of bug or spy?

Due to a completely different subject, I think I discovered the cause of this. Maybe you've already found it in the course of the last 5 months, but just in case:

When you click in the search box, Firefox opens a connection to your search engine. It is not send anything, but this allows you to get an answer more quickly once you submit your search. It's called a "speculative bond" and apparently appeared in Firefox about 15 of Firefox.

You can test the following approach for this turn off? This sets the cap on the number of these connections to zero:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste the speculation and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    3 double-click the network.http.speculative - parallel-limit and set it to 0 (zero).

  • How to stop to block Firefox plugins

    Hello

Until someone says something, the company mailing list means nothing to me. I don't have a lot of spam and super block quoted text.

I'm trying to customize Firefox with a deployment file (mozilla.cfg). I use detail 23 because 17.0.8esr is too old interface-wise... even if it works for my current purpose and is my unwanted backup plan. I don't want to reduce my deployment to the 17 tree.

I have an old piece of software that requires 6 45 java jre to run. Bonus is that it's only works in Firefox.

However, 23 Firefox has a plugin check utility that disables this version of java. There is a popup indicating it is expired blah blah then turned off automatically. (direct link on the thing, I'm not talking- https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2012/10/11/click-to-play-plugins-blocklist-style/ )

Is there something in the mozilla.cfg file that I can add to disable this check and just? I don't care if it is old and there is a security risk. I need this software to work. There must be no clicking on things or editing by users... it HAS to be perfect out of the box.

This thread is 6 months old, I have the same problem, and there is no resolution because it is a "novelty".

I suspect that there will be a ton of ESR arrived 24 annoyed admins without a good workaround. Thank you.

    TLDR;

Within the facility there is a blocklist.xml

    C:\Program files\mozilla firefox\browser
    OR
    C:\Program files (x 86) \mozilla firefox\browser

This block is there by default and blocks a lot of stuff. You have two options. If you like living dangerously just remove blocklist.xml

If not, change all the references to java in blocklist.xml

    For fun also add in

    --

    Disabled Plugin Check defaultPref ("plugin.scan.plid.all", false); defaultPref("plugins.update.url","");

    Disable the plugin blocklist lockpref ("extensions.blocklist.enabled", false);

    --

So he is not actively scan or try to update. I suspect that on a updated version, you will need to re - edit or re - delete it's in the installation program.

  • Flash Player Plugin disappeared from FireFox 11.0 - 4 times per day

    Hello

I must say first that I use w2000 SP5. It is a clean install, with no male ware. I understand that the OS is not supported. But, my other computer has a motherboard defective and unable to replace it now.

I use the latest version of Firefox, which was available for w2000, (ver 11.0)

I modified Firefox plugins UPDATE NO. (Because only; the new plugins work in W2000. Firefox 11.0)

I installed the latest version of Flash which works also in W2000. (fp_10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0_archive)

All works as usual. No crashes. No problems.

Except, the installation disappears as magically as a Firefox plugin.

She disappears in 3 or 4 times a day. Usually after I open Firefox, a few hours later.

But it is still in the list of programs installed on the computer.

I was re - install every time, which is VERY annoying.

I also disabled Flash to automatic updates.

There must be something that is checked to install a new version, and the removal of my current install.

    But I'm not.

I tried several versions of flash, and all do the same thing.

So, I think that the problem is in Firefox.

I post my Adobe problem also.

    Please help me. TIA

Firefox should find the Flash plugin via the registry key.

Try to create a plugins folder in the current Firefox profile folder and copy the NPSWF32. DLL and the file flashplayer.xpt into the plugin folder.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: opens showing the file

Have you tried disabling blocklisting and delete the blocklist.xml existing in the folder of Firefox application and the current Firefox profile folder?

  • How to install blocked plugin?

Hello. Until yesterday, I still use java 6 u 17 (32-bit) and the plug-in to Firefox (ver 40) works very well.
A day at the end of development that I had to uninstall my java and install java 6 u 45 (64-bit). The java plug-in disappear suddenly Firefox. After Googling for a while it seems that Firefox can't figure it out because he was in the blocked list. Is it possible for me to install updates java 6 45 for Firefox plugins?
FYI, the java plugins is detected and works well in IE 11.

    Thank you.

There is a blockage: configuration feature that you can turn false, but it will open the flood gates for others. extensions.blocklist.Enabled

  • Is there a way to disable Firefox from telling me that Adobe Flash Player is out of date?

We run a program that does not allow students to update programs or make other changes. The problem is that Firefox thinks that it NEED to update Flash Player whenever there is a new version. It is simply not feasible with as many computers as we support. 99% of the time, the update is not necessary.

Is there a way to disable Firefox from telling me that Adobe Flash Player is out of date?

You can disable the blocking of modules in Firefox and remove the file blocklist.xml in the profile folder.

    Disable these prefs.
Extensions.blocklist.Enabled = change this pref to false
Extensions.blocklist.URL = delete the url if Firefox can't find the server where this file is sent from

  • How to re - activate a blocked Java Plugin?

First of all, let me explain. I work in a supporting role for a company that uses some element of management systems to monitor and troubleshoot network problems. Due to safety and the application of our enterprise support policies, we are forced to use a version of Firefox and Java to access the Web server of the EMS.

    The problem:
With the recent update to Mozilla blocking, the version of Java policies we use is blocked and access to the site no longer works correctly. We need a workaround method that will allow us to get around the block.

Hey creation: we actively and voluntarily recognize the risks that are inherent in stocks such as I ask. I would ask that discussion on the subject that we need an immediate solution to access our tool and a long term solution - safe - will be concocted with the help of our business processes.

I am pleased to provide you with all the details that may be necessary.

    Thank you!

EDIT: I solved the problem myself: see answer below.

I solved it. Proceed at your own risk

    1. Open a new tab
    2. Go to Subject: config
    3. Accept the security warning
    4. Replace extensions.blocklist.enabled to false
    5. Restart the browser

This prevents the verification of the red list that you have configured to extensions.blocklist.detailsURL firefox
