extention of modified accidentally word doc

I can't find a document, in my view, that I accidentally changed the file name extension? I'm not sure about that either. I hit two keys at the same time, I think, and the document was gone! I don't know the date of the day, I did but can't find the document or I find a doc but it does not open so I can read it. I get an open document that looks at the coding or something? How the coding looks like on the screen is the way I have the document created in word. I use an old program "word for windows 97.

I also have a message about some doc I find that Word can't convert?

Can anyone help

How can I activate a PDF to a word doc

    Hello sam1178,

I wonder if you can take a few minutes to explain how you came to post your question in this forum?  What link you click on what page?  I ask because this is not the right forum to ask questions about the use of PDF, but for some strange reason, many people end by posting questions just like yours... almost identical for some.  So I figure there must be a link somewhere that needs to be changed.

The extent of the turn a pdf file into a doc Word will, there should be an option "save under" in Adobe Acrobat which allows you to specify a Word document in the output file.

  • Page Word doc and docx conversion

I use a portable MacPro OS X 10.9.5 with Pages 5.2.2. When I convert to Word doc or docx, the copy becomes a hyphen, although he was not in the Pages. When I try to remove the hyphens, the document converted Pages. How can I avoid this?  I don't want to update my software because I have my previous files become inaccessible.

When you export to Word.doc/.docx leave v5.2.2 Pages, what exactly Gets a hyphen? Pages is not a clone of Word, and export to Word is a translation process for which Apple offers absolutely no guarantee of accuracy.

Pages v5.2.2 is the last version compatible with the Mavericks. Pages ' 09 v4.3 still work on El Capitan. What are the previous files?

  • How can I embed fonts in MS Word doc sent to somene

Hi all.  I installed and used a font that I downloaded on the Internet.  Everything is good.  Documents look great, and normally I create PDF files from Word documents.  But, when I send a Word Doc (not PDF) that has my custom font (Ubuntu, it's the police anyone is wondering) is not "coming through" to the recipient.  End result is that the recipient opens the Doc they can't read the text.  I had described me as looking like a cursive, but unreadable font.

    El Capitan

    Word for Mac 15.22.1

I saw something "Save using an embedded font" and a checkbox when registering, but I don't see that in my version of Word for Mac.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks a ton.

Word does not incorporate fonts. You will need to send it with the document, or save it in PDF format and send that.

  • ? How can I work on my MacBook Word Docs on my iPad?

I just bought an iPad because I'll be traveling abroad and will not take my MacBook Pro with me since it is my main computer. I used Word for my teaching documents. I bought an iPad, so I can work on them while traveling. The Apple seller assured me that this would not be a problem. However, I can't figure out how to get my Word Docs on the iCloud MacBook in order to access it from my iPad. I have read several posts on the forum, but I have still not found the answer probably because they are dated. It said, for example, save my Word Docs in the Section "Documents and data" icloud. But I didn't not just on mine. I just did the last software update on my MacBook Pro and just bought my iPad last Friday.

I would really appreciate help on this. I want to return my iPad in the period of 14 days full refund if it in fact that is impossible, because this is the reason why I bought the iPad.

    Thank you :-)

Don't know if you're aware, but if you use Word on the MacBook and iPad, you can either save in iCloud or OneDrive. As you use Microsoft Word, you will find easier to use Microsoft OneDrive - but their isn't a huge difference and either will work.

If you use Microsoft Office for Mac 2016 on the MacBook, you can save on OneDrive by clicking "Online sites" in the file menu in Word to save the window. If you want to save on iCloud you must make sure that the menu Apple > System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud unit is running. It's also a good idea to go in the Finder preferences > sidebar and put a checkmark in front of iCloud Drive in the Favorites section of this window. When you save a document in Word 2016 on your Mac, you can then click iCloud Drive in the side bar of the Finder window and save on iCloud drive.

  • How to transfer an entire conversation of 'Messages' to a word doc?

My iPhone was stolen, but I still have my iMessage conversations on my request for "Messages" on my Macbook Pro. Unfortunately, one of the message conversations is necessary (cited to appear by the Court) and he is one of six month long conversation. Is there anyway to transfer it in a Word Doc or something without having to scroll through literally for an hour to recover the entire conversation?

Try this in the messages with your selected conversation...

    "File menu > print"

Click on the PDF button and save as a PDF.

Normally, you should be able to simply open the .doc with Pages and then save it again in .pages format.  Have you had a problem what do I do?  Of course, you want to keep it as a .doc so that MS Office can always read (it cannot read .pages).

    Hello

-What operating system is installed on your computer?
-What version of Microsoft Word you are using?

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if they help.

    a. save image scanned in *.gif, *.jpeg.

    b. open this image in paint, go to ' file-> save under "and name it"xyz.tiff"in" TIFF ".

    c. go to "Start-> programs-> Microsoft Office-> Microsoft Office Document Imaging Tools"

    d. go in "file-> open" and open your scanned document that has been saved in *. TIFF format.

    e. go in ' tools-> send text Word.» You will get a prompt indicating that this process will take time, click OK. This will take some time depending on the speed of your computer (a minute or two at the most).

    f. when it's done, it will open Microsoft word on its own, and the scanned document will be in editable mode.

I got a new open word doc and is logged when Windows Vista did an update automatically and restart, now I seem to have lost! Any suggestions? A system restore wouldn't work?

If you have not saved the document before the reboot - and Windows always give a lot of warning before restarting automatically - while the file disappeared.  There is no way to recover; System Restore does apply to system files, not data.

I was working on a microsoft word doc and all of a sudden all paragraph marks and points between each word that presented themselves.  How can I get rid of these?

You click the Show/Hide in the Standard toolbar.  The location of this button may vary depending on the version of Word that you have (that you did not state).  Click the button again to make the marks disappear.

Some scanners have the ability to convert the image to text, check your scanner manual for the exact procedure. You can also use your search engine preferred for a tool to convert.

  • Convert Word Doc-rich text file

Scanned document using the ABBYYOCR program, which saves the file in rich text. I need to get it in Word doc format. Does anyone know how to do this. I managed, but it took 20 steps to do this, which means that it is faster to retype the document.

    Thank you very much

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

    Follow these steps:

    (a) run Microsoft Word.

    (b) open the RTF (Rich Text File) document in word.

    (c) click on the "File" menu

    (d) choose "save under" and make sure "Word Document" is selected in the box "save under".

    (e) enter the name of the file you want or leave as is. This will keep the name of the RTF document, but convert to Word format.

    (f) click "Save".
