  The 'expensive' is subjective. The external drives that I've seen recently are <70 bucks="" per=""> terabyte. You can pay more for the bells and whistles of an external box which was dazzled, and you might get a player with a better fault tolerance.

  According to the description of the problem, I see that you are unable to perform a backup and the error message "Backup has encountered a problem; "C:\Users\UpdatusUser\Favorites can't find file error specified 0 x 80070002.

  I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. We are here to help and guide you in the right direction.

  This problem occurs if Windows Backup tries to back up files in folders LocalLow, Contacts and research and that these files are not present on the computer.

  Note: These files are only created if certain applications are installed on the computer.

  Method 1:

  The FRA drive is formatted using Linux x 83 put on Diskgroup + FRA system.

  Backups are stored outside on an ext3 file system.

  Suppose now the database gets completely crashed and I need to recover by continuing external backups.  I will copy the external backups to the + FRA disk and then perform the recovery from there.

  My question is, given that external backups are on ext3 file system, while the FRA is the Oracle ASM filesystem, there will be a problem for the use of the file systems of the two difference?

  First of all, the reason for multiplexing online redo logs and control files is not the same as that of multiplexing archivelogs. Do it online and the control file are actually a part of the database.  The database will not work without them.  This is why it is so important to have multiplex.  Archivelogs, on the other hand, are part of your backup strategy.  The database itself really doesn't care if you have any archivelogs at all.  The archivelogs multiplexing is much less common.  I have never multiplexed mine, but I do not have a task that runs every hour to copy any newly created on a server off-site.

  If your database is on ASM, at least a control file and a member of each group of redo log must be in ASM.  Technically, is not having to be, but it's really foolish not to do so.  Where to put the second copy?  Probably several schools of thought on this.  If your FRA is on ext3, so it seems a simple decision... a FRA copy, a copy in its default location in ASM.

  Thank you for your time and effort, but I had to get a local engineer to fix it for me, he did leave the old files.   I did as you said in regedit as there was no policy of storage device, but it does not remove the write protection. My backup disk is a connected via external usb port. If I turn off the external hard drive and turn it on then I can move or copy folders on disk for a few minutes the write protection turns. It started only with windows 7. In vista, alol was ok re backups. I read on the manual for this player and they don't even mention protection against Scripture. How do I know which drive to remove the register write-protection? I think I solved my problem. I had my backup disk connected to the computer via a usb hub. I changed it to connect directly to the back of the computer and now the backup drive is not protected in writing and I can copy and send the disk to backup with no problems.
