FaceTime grab CPU & battery

Hello

My Facetime recently developed a problem. He nearly took the CPU performance when you use a video call as pictured and cause noise fan.

My Mo is Air mid 2013 version with a Capital of El updated a few months ago, but the case has happened these last 3, 4 weeks.

Did you know this problem and how to solve?

Thank you

Tan

Hi NgocTan!

I can certainly see where vives fan would cause a problem with a FaceTime call since it would make it difficult for the two parties to hear.  Normally, FaceTime will not use so many resources when running so that we can understand what is happening with him together using the following troubleshooting steps and testing after each of them.

The first thing we need to do is to reset the system management controller (SMC).  By resetting SMC, as long the MacBook Pro is well ventilated (as on a desktop or a solid surface rather than on your knees or the pillow), then that should take care of it.  Take a look at this article to find out how the SMC reset: reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac.

If they still run high after this reset, we want to test mode without failure.  When you start the MacBook Pro in Mode safe, it will load only certain things which are needed to run that he and will love a "repair" of the system.  To get into Safe Mode to test, follow these steps here: OS X El Capitan: boot mode safe

When those who have been completed, if fans are always vivid and FaceTime shows a great use, then we need to isolate where it is exactly.  The first thing to do would be to test it in a new user to see if it happens here too.  That would tell us the path we need to take the next one.  This shows how to create a new user on your computer: OS X El Capitan: Configure users on your Mac

Make it a great day!

  • Satellite Pro L20 - CPU / battery upgrade

    Hi all

I have a L20 the Satellite with the Celeron 360 Pro. I have seen that you can get another satellite pro L20s running Pentium m 730 1.6GHZ CPU. I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the processor in this machine. The power of thermal design of the Celeron is 21W which is slightly lower than that of the Pentium-M 27W, but should not running too hot as it has speedstep, the only problem is that the Pentium versions seem to have Intel graphics and the Celeron have ATI x 200, it's a different motherboard or the same?

If anyone knows if the upgrade is possible can you please post and let me know. Thank you!
Also, I noticed there is a battery 4300mAh who would last longer 200mAh battery I have, it works on 14.8V where as mine is 14.4V would this work in my laptop, im assuming that it should?

  • Battery drains very quickly on Satellite A300D-17F

    Hi brothers!

I install windows 7 on my laptop. It is so useful and quick, but a problem today.
On the battery. A warning as this "changing your battery can useful."
    He performs very fast power.
So, what should I do? (A300D-17F and used only one year)

    Hello

You should know that battery working time depends on the use of the laptop. Run powerful applications and use of disk HARD, ODD brightest decreases or high display graphics card, CPU, battery working time!

On the other hand, that the performance of the battery will decrease during the time that this means the older battery is that less would be the performance

My old battery is dead I can use the laptop only for 1 min with battery.
In this case, only the replacement of the battery can help.

  • Battery drain incredible during the eve logged onto a windows Tablet 8 clovertrail

I do the exasperating experience draining the battery during 'connected' on a windows Tablet 8, Samsung Smart PC 500 T. I bought it 2.5 months ago, the problem has been for more than a month, after a few big OS against MS updates... I tried to diagnose any way I can, but this it it, thank you, not interested by this day before thing all connected, will no longer be a Guinea pig. I want to just turn it off.
-How to disable connected standby mode? Don't tell me 'it is part of the windows experience' blah blah 'experience' is half cooked so far... (to put it very diplomatically). I want to close standby connected, completely - and use the sleep windows 7-style good, old, normal. Is there a service, the registry key, all I can do to disable the standby connected?
Connected standby mode, I've got battery drain with flight mode, no user apps open (anything that can be taken out of service - shutted down), most apps metro removed, only 4 left (metro IE10, Windows Store, music, Photos, S-camera), no nfc, no bluetooth, no usb, no keyboard accessories don't dock, all the stuff from Task Scheduler not only not allowed out the computer , but disabled at all, no auto sync anything in widndows 8 (not sync tiles, tips of user account, no email push in outlook 2013), no auto updates of OS, whatever it is (except for samsung s-implementation to date clean service - weather, it was long before and it has not caused any problems) anytvirus, disabled windows Defender...
Nothing interesting in the event viewer, with which it is related to food filtered logs of the system...
I mean, the man... What the...? ! How to find that something that drains my battery? I was watching cycles cpu (Task Manager and ProcessExplorer) and it is not conclusive, the most programs is OS stuff... some "material interruptions and DMCs, but not nearly enough to cause this brain drain...
I suspect drivers wifi a little... some weird newspapers I saw in the viewer the same... But I won't standby connected . WiFi off. I even checked, I disabled the wifi driver in Device Manager and on the standby battery drain connected yet,
Yes, I updated everywhere. I would even say updated too much em... It works well in advance.
Some powercfg - batteryreport (s) in the links below. Well Yes, played with powercfg /waketimers, power of Device Manager and parameters of wake, powercfg /devicequery wake_armed (everything is turned off, nothing here awhile loong) and powercfg-query. Clean.
On these photos of powercfg - batteryreport, the columns are date/type of activity/lasted for how long/battery drain in %/battery drain in mWH. Which suggests you take a look at the last. That's a record... of 18% in 4 hours battery drain. "Sleeping."
The Tablet is lying on my desk, just sitting there, doing so I have no idea what, and 4 hours more later boom, where all this battery juice went?
! I have a problem with the windows start button, it fires in my bag accidentally when I wear the autour tablet, but that's a separate problem how disable this button windows at home. The backup battery drain is a different thing.
    Much more serious.
    So:
    QUESTION 1:
-How to disable this thing crappy connected standby that drains my battery and makes me crazy?
    QUESTION 2:
s ' it is not possible to disable directly, how to go around that? I don't have a button for this. Saying what to do with the windows registry is good enough.
    QUESTION 3:
-If connected standby cannot be disabled in some way - how to diagnose what app/process uses cycles cpu, battery juice? I've been everywhere ProcessExplorer and observer of events, but maybe you know something I don't know...
And please spare me the clean boot suggestions, when I go back to the 'normal' State I have a ton of bloatware I don't need running with the OS... There is a reason why a little more savvy people use these things as services.msc. Bloating! No, I didn't touch the system services... Yes I know it can cause a ton of problems, it is not.
I do not need a clean boot, I need a way which device in the Device Manager uses so much power, which driver, what app, what service, what is the process, this thread, where it has located in the file system, when he was active, how many cycles on the CPU, it has obtained since then...
And if MS doesn't already have this app in windows, it should be a cause of issues of power on windows tablets 8 of clovertrail are... plague. For example - this is exactly the problem (a similar review victory 8 connected tablet with the same question shall) here - http://www.umpcportal.com/2013/02/connected-standby-battery-life-problem/
When even comments from bloggers and tech write about it, you know that there is something in it.
But I guess that applications like freshpaint stupid finger paint are more important as a selling point.

Just to let you know all I found the registry key to disable the standby connected. So you can all stop rage and take a sigh of relief.

    Reach:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power. There is a DWORD value called "CsEnabled" that you should find the value 1 and change to 0 will turn standby connected power off.

I have a Surface Pro 3 and can confirm that since making the change in my battery life has improved considerably. Also on the battery meter, before he just showed the remaining percentage, but now it shows the time remaining (for example 8 hours, 30 minutes) as well.

The only drawback to it is when I close the type of cover and re - open, the logo (logo windows normally blue) surface appears and performs the old style wake up from its sleep. Of course this should not be a problem for some of you so as most laptops normally do...

Already when I opened the hood, the screen will come back and I'll be back at my desk (or metro app, no matter what either was last opened) just like before - similar to press the lock and turned off on an iPad, tablet or by phone.

I hope this helps all the world all that. Please like and mark as solution if it solves your problem :D

  • NB500 - what can I do with him?

The Toshiba NB500 can really work with multimedia desktop, internet? I can watch the movie without any problem?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

Generally the series netbook offers a perfect mobility to go with maximum autonomy and he weight only about 1.15 kg.

With NB500, you can do everything: surf the Internet, read emails, watch movies on Youtube, etc. So, to fundamental factors it s enough.

If you want a little more performance check out NB520. He already has dual core CPU, battery life, better speakers, etc. If you have enough money, I'd rather NB520 because he has the newest and most powerful money. The price different isn t so much and you can get it in different colors. ;)

  • 8 slate Pro audio problem: headphone output

    Hello

I bought my slate 8 Pro (model 7600US) to replace my Blackberry playbook. It is the great Tablet (screen perfect last Tegra 4 CPU, battery in good condition, good speakers integrated), but after the use of the Tablet for several days, I am surprised by problems with audio quality of the headphone output. I use mainly compressed with headphones (audio books, Netflix, music, etc.), so when I connected my Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Pro (headphones ultra-sensitive 119db/mW, 12 Ohm), I got very sensitive background noise, artifacts and, what is very annoying - variable pitch tones when changing tone based on the activity of the Wi - fi and load CPU, especially on low volume levels.

So I tried using headphones from Shure (109db, 29 ohms), less sensitive 4ca as KOSS KTXPRO (106db, 60 ohms) with the same results. HP Slate 8 Pro is not powerful enough to Sennheizer 555 (105db, 120 ohms) but I also had the artifacts and noise of not. Finally I tried junk headset $2 and found the sound sounds and tones perfectly acceptable ground level, but the sound quality with these phones is terrible.

To compare, I tried all my headphones with Nexus 7, Samsung Note 3, IPhone 5 and Playbook without problem.

I have returned the shelf at the store and replaced it for the new, but I had similar problem.

Please let know us, what I have to try the third time and replace the Tablet, or it's problem of hardware design, which cannot be resolved. Is it possible, that developers of HP can fix it in software configuration in a future update?

I understand, this tablet is not an audiophile device, but when the HP Web site indicates to this tablet: "Tuned by Dr. Dre himself, Beats Audio™ allows you to hear the music the way the artist intended.", it must at least provide acceptable audio quality for most listeners. I love HP Tablet a little, but if audio problem cannot be solved, I have to look for another option like Samsung or LG.

Updated my slate 8 Pro to KitKat 4.4.2 and looks, that his problem slipped.  With this update, noise and less noticeable artifacts, sound quality is acceptable now, even for sensitive headphones.

  • Z3 blackBerry android player consumes a massive amount of data

    Hello!
I'm the kind of person who won't complain about all this and that. But when a problem is to take the attention then it's resolve. BlackBerry is a name that I've always wanted to be with and I'm sure there are many people with the same thought. Well, it's a value. But now, one day, it seems that the community is not taking seriously except company holidays in countries like here in India. But even improvements are in the form of the OS upgrade and BB 10.3 is a nice update. But according to the rules of nature, nothing is perfect, there are still a few bugs.
Support android apps is a good step, but please do it well if you took something. There is an application called DRIVE ANDROID when I open the Device Manager my Z3 and this app uses a lot hell of data, memory and cpu usage! I don't understand what is this to. I also googled for a solution of it but in vain. There is no solution to him even on the support forums. There are so many complaints about the use of data and you people say that usage is also same compared to Apple and Android available on the market. Isn't that kind of an answer, would be expected to explain by comparing the service to competitors. I think that if you explain something you lose. So please you need in the operating system updated to explain about the bugs in the forums instead.
And if you can't solve the problem of the use of data, then, please develop such an option in the permissions by which we can determine whether a particular application may use data or not, because we have such an option in androids.
I look forward to your response as soon as possible.

Hey don't feel sorry. I've heard many things from you. My knowledge has become more impressive on the device. So I want to thank you for all the thought sharing.

And the problem with data consumption, it is now resolved. I just removed the PlayStore and flaky! No data has been consumed by Android player since then. Even my battery performance has been improved. But that means that Google game store is such a software, that we cannot invoke. It does nothing by his own name rather haos player Android to make all this CPU, battery and same data usage.

Maybe it's not logical at all blaming Google Playstore but it happened with my camera so I share with you all. I would like to hear from you for a better understanding.

  • Drain battery/CPU Safari on El Capitan? (2013 retina MacBook Pro)

Recently, I noticed my retina MB Pro 2013 has worked a bit warmer than usual, and when I check the process it seems as if web content safari uses a lot of CPU.  Moreover, when I check the impact of energy, web content safari appears to use a large part (99 +).  It's even when I'm on simple Web pages, such as this one or google homepage.  I tried to delete the caches and reset PRAM and SMC, nothing helps.  This results in significantly reduced battery life and life while they inspected the power in the information system, much of the energy consumption (values of my to--1500 to 2000).   The Estimator gives me an estimate of less than 4 hours when fully charged, when I'd get easily 7-8 before what is going on has begun.  I noticed that when I boot on a guest account, resource consumption does not seem to be messed up like this and Firefox power impact seems to be normal.  Any ideas?

Are you sure, that the temperature of the CPU is only raises only when you charge the battery?

Can you tell what temperature is before?

  • EliteBook 8560w: battery slows down CPU

    Hello

My 8560w Elitebook has been extremely slow operation. After trying many different things, including getting a new HARD drive and install a new version of Windows 7 on it, without solving the problem. I finally found the source of the problem to be associated with. If I run the computer with the battery inserted, as now 94% complete, with the AC/DC adapter not plugged, the CPU is loaded at 50-100%. If I insert the AC/DC adapter, there is no change. If I can get the ut of the battery, on the fly, CPU load instantly falls to 2-3%. If I re - insert the battery, almost instantly reached 50-100% CPU load.

Searching the Internet, I find that I'm not the only one to see this problem on a HP laptop.

I ran the computer for a long time without the battery without the problem again, and it's very easy to recreate as explained above, + other reports similar questions, so I'm very certain about the problem as described.

What exactly is causing the problem, and why it loads CPU?
A battery replacement will not solve the problem, or is it related to internal hardware? (It is clearly a HW problem as a completely new and fresh win7 on a new HARD drive installation did not help)

    Thank you

    Thomas Nilsson

Today I received the new battery. Inserted on the fly and he showed plenty of 84%. The computer just don't continued to run normally, no slowdown as down with the original battery. So, I pulled out adapter, and the computer just don't continued to run normally, no sloing downwards. It worked like this for a while now without any problems.

Conclusion. The battery is somehow responsible, even if the computer reports no problems with her and she is almost fully charged.

No icon volumn - no sound since replacing battery to the CPU. I have a Dell Windows XP.  I tried to solve this problem for more than 6 hours, it must help.  If I try to install an icon of volumn - message is - not installed Volume control program.  In the Web sites that I'm not sure that you can trust, they say I need a file Sndvol32.exe (?), or a microsoft update download driver (?).  My computer is 7-8 years, but I installed more Ram.   Appreciate your help.

Windows Explorer is not to be confused with Internet Explorer (which I think you open).

On your desktop, right-click on 'My Computer' and choose the second option in the menu drop-down (not on my XP PC, so don't remember his name). Who should then open WIndows Explorer and you can follow the instructions in my other post. Or double-click my computer, and you get a simpilar window.

  • Why the CPU frequency will be just said to 1189 MHz when the X 230 had AC power ONLY (battery removed)?

    Dear all,

I bought a X 230 (i7) laptop.  I found that has removed the battery from the laptop and use only the power supply with the X 230 Notenook.  The CPU frequency will said to 1189 MHz.  It will not change no matter how the laptop program is running.  The CPU frequency will increase to 2.9 GHz or up to Turbo when the laptop with battery or battery and AC power.  Why the CPU frequency will be just said to 1189 MHz when the X 230 had AC power ONLY (battery removed)?  This is not good.  No matter which setting in X 230 Notebook need to change?  Help, please.

    Welcome to the forum!

What you feel is the factory default setting. You may or may not be able to get around using an adapter 90 w instead of a 65W one, but I've generally not recommended to use the ThinkPads without a pile of work.

  • Bad battery will cause a high CPU usage?

Recently, my computer became VERY slow.  I have a Dell XPS 1330 with windows vista.  Computer ran great and all of a sudden, everything had been delayed.  When I type, it takes forever to actually appear on the computer.  I looked online and saw that it may be due to the high utilization of the processor (mine was about 95%).  So I did what one of the solutions was and typing 'msconfig' in 'run' and some of these disabled startup options.  This has contributed to some but it's still very slow, and the CPU usage is back after only 3 to 5 days.

I wonder if that means that I may have a virus, or whether it could be due to a defective battery.  I have the original supplied with the computer (WR050) battery and it has reached its limit, now works only if it is plugged.  I work on the search for a new battery, but I was wondering if this could be the problem with my computer SLOW terribley or if it's something more...

Try to uninstall all of the programs you don't need and if it does not restore your system (backup your data first) to your oldest restore point. It is almost certain to succeed.

Antivirus how do you have? If more then one, uninstall those that you don't use often. This should speed up your system from 20 to 50%.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery drain with High CPU (v6.0 Bundle 3049) because of the net.rim.io.impl module

    Hello

    .

I have improved my Torch (9800) a week ago and have been noticiing battery drain issues.  The problem is NOT persistent, but is most of the time that goes well.  I am currently on OS v6.0 bundle 3049 (v6.0.0.706, Devils 6.6.0.246).  My Wifi and Bluetooth are always TURNED off.  Only by using the Bell network, for which I have all 5 bars available.

    .

I investigated further and found that the Blackberry system software was running with more than the processor - usually in the 1970s high, 90 same high.  And this corresponded over the hours until the battery was dead.  I have since deleted all the apps I have suspecpected - such as the Office of Nice and LinkedIn.  But the problem persists.

    .

Battery pull was made several times, as I checked and there is no update of the OS.

    .

Now, currently, only the Basic apps are loaded (Alt-Back): home, BBM, phone, Messages, Borwser.  All other applications are closed or exit.

    .

Further study in the modules of the system software of BB, I found that the net_rim_io_impl, is her consuming ALL the CPU.  I don't know where/what this module does - so I'm not clear on this service within the BB I can disable (OFF) to get rid of the issue.

    .

Please see the following screenshots, the CPU for the system a little, drops as Options use a part, otherwise it goes back 90 years, if left alone: -.

And in the system software of BB: -.

    .

Please help and guide, with either a fix to the module, or via a workaround solution, in which some service can be stopped or a setting can be changed to avoid this battery drain.

    .

    Thank you!

I think it could have been resolved in a second thread.
