Factory Reset/restore Slimline s3910t of windows 7 to vista

Product name: Slimline s3910t

Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1

I bought this computer several years ago, just before Windows 7 came out. I then had the ability to free upgrade to Windows vista (originally installed) to windows 7. I want to factory reset/restore my computer.

My question is, if I rest/restoration of the factory, it will go back for win vista correct? If he does that, I still have the disks to upgrade. I'm just able to level like how I did at the time or it will be a problem with using some sort of software key again?

Thanks in advance

If you perform a factory restore, your computer will be returned to the original Vista operating system. You will need to upgrade to Windows 7 using the free upgrade disk and product key Windows of the COA that is on the disc sleeve came.

  • Factory reset after re-installation of windows with a different key

    Hi all

    I bought a laptop HP dv7-7264ez, with 8 pre-installed windows ENVY.

After installing linux and messed with the boot settings, I need to re - install windows. Because I had not burned an iso of Windows 8 or extracted from my windows product key, I asked a friend to to burn me a DVD with his version of windows (Windows 8.1 pro). I did a reset of the PC of the utility of windows with this new version.

Now, I try to get my old version of Windows (normal, not pro) for reasons morals and because I can't "activate Windows" with the version of my friend.

To create a Windows DVD, I downloaded the Microsoft tool and extract from my current product key with this tool. The problem is that the extracted key is the version of my friend and it is not valid to create a .iso for Windows 8.

In other words, I need to get my original Windows product key!

Is it possible to do a factory reset 'real '?

Or y at - it a database with all affected Windows keys?

    Thanks for your help!

    You are the very welcome.

You may need to install the driver sata for your model.

    Try this...

Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed - 32 or 64 bit depending on the case).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&keyword=Intel+RAPI...

Extract the files on a usb flash drive.

With the flash drive and the installation of W8 media plugged into the machine, boot from the installation of W8 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and if this is the problem, install W8.

There is no way I know of to recover the product key.

It works with an OEM W8 as XP installation disc used for in ancient times.

You had to match the installation media with the type of product key (OEM, sale retail or upgrade).

  • Problems with Dell Factory Image Restore - Dell Inspiron 1564 - Windows 7 Home Premium

    Hello

My laptop (Dell Inspiron 1564 - Windows 7 Home Premium) slowed down a few days ago and I decided to restore the system to Dell Factory Image. The process started but stopped at most of halfway and gave the following message: "unable to apply the Image. I rebooted the system, but it would now not start, not even in safe mode! Perhaps, during the process of restoring a few essential Windows files have been erased.

I want to restore the Image of Dell and can not reinstall Windows because I lost the product key of my Windows 7 original installation DVD provided by Dell at the time of the purchase of the laptop. Your help / advice is solicited and would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

P.S. The system recovery Partition is intact and has factory.wim and other related directories / files intact.

If you use the Windows 7 Home Premium DVD Dell reinstallation it will automatically apply the Dell OEM SLP activation. In short, a product key is entered from the DVD and active if and only if the BIOS is validated by Dell to perform Windows 7. Therefore, you do not have the key 25-digit number on the certificate of authenticity. If you want to know the code then look under the battery.

  • Factory reset, it will find windows 7 upgade or roll back to Vista?

Hello, I want to install an SSD and need to do a factory reset first. When I bought this Vaio had Vista on it, and later I paid Sony for the upgrade of Windows 7 which is a download.

If I go through the factory reset on the recovery partition it back to Vista or Windows 7 will keep?

    Thanks for any help

IF it had Vista on it, then you guessed it the restore partition would be for this OS, unless you changed it so it would restore a vanilla Vista OS

  • How to factory reset or reinstall windows on HP Jet 7?

Tried to get in touch with HP customer care by phone several times, but I'm never here during the opening hours.

When I got my tablet, the following occurs:

I turn it on, and at the end of 5 or 10 seconds of the HP logo it will go black again. I can access BIOS menus, this isn't a charging problem (although the only time where I've been on the live chat with HP they said it was... it was obviously power)

When I went into the menu of the BIOS (Power + volume down) and you press the system recovery option, he would do the same thing (logo of hp for 5 or more seconds then go black)

    What I tried to do:

-The system diagnostic tests; they all say that the tablet itself is OK. This leads me to believe that I need to reinstall windows somehow.

-Rewrite of the BIOS (the volume + volume down + power); It will rewrite the BIOS, but the same problem will occur.

-Trunk network; same problem once more.

Accordingly, I am looking for a way of properly factory reset my tablet or reinstall windows on my tablet. I really need for College it is therefore essential that I can solve this problem.

Hi, I had this problem and others here did also.  The fix for me ran the battery all the way down so that the CMOS to reset.  One of the threads detailing this difficulty is here.  Once you get the tablet to the top, you can update for the last EFI firmware and that should hopefully prevent it from happening again.

  • HP 300-1360: reset HP 300-1360 with windows 10

    Hi all

I recently bought a HP 300-1360. I intend to do a factory reset, but the HP Recovery partition content has been removed.  D: is still there but shows 14.6 GB of free space left 14.7 GB.  I downloaded windows 10 who intend to use this recovery as reset tool, but now I don't know if it's the best way to go. Looks like I might lose much or all of the features of HP using this recovery. There is no files on this computer and yet so not concerned on this issue. A few features. The question and the questions are therefore:

    (1) a windows 10 restore will remove actually all HP applications. (I feel that the answer is Yes but if necessary, to ask in all cases)

I wonder if I should have bought a recovery CD set and done the factory reset before I take on windows 10.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

Personally, I would buy the HP's HP recovery media.  Here's a guide to help you.  This will give you a protection for the future and make the upgrade to win 10 much easier.  Once you install Win 10, you must run HP and Windows updates to make sure that all software and drivers are up to date.

  • System recovery against Factory Reset?

    Hello.

Start tx1217cl with recovery disc (F11 doesn't work is not a reason any).

Under "Advanced Options", two choices are:

-System Recovery (recovery of your computer to its original factory condition) and

-Factory Reset (restore your system to its original factory condition)

Anyone know what's the difference between these two options?    I seeks to do a destructive restore and do not know which of these options would do that, so either.

    Thank you

System recovery reformatted only drive C, while the factory reset reformatted the entire disk.

  • Factory reset for Windows 7 will restore my BIOS too to its original state when I bought it?

I now use Windows 8, I bought my laptop in JULY 2012. It came with Windows Home Premium and I have the recovery disc for Windows 7. I intend to factory reset my laptop because of my disappointment with Windows 8 and supprt for Windows 8.

I want to know if the "factory Reset" will restore the BIOS of the laptop in its original state. I mean I have my BIOS set to update to the latest. I want to return to its former State. How long is the factory reset also takes? I own edition HP DV6T Quad 7000 with 32 GB WSSD.

Intel RST does not have anything, my HARD drive is shown in non-RAID and there is no way I can change it to RAID. My last option is to try the Factory Reset and see if it helps. I'm sure that TSRI will work if my BIOS is restored to the original condition with everything so it starts to detect my HDD in RAID.

    Hello

A factory image recovery will not affect the version of BIOS or current settings. The duration during which the factory image recovery takes wil depend on what type of recovery media that you have. If you have a usb recovery media that it will probably wait maybe thiry minutes. Use you a recovery value disk while recovery might take a few hours to complete.

Once you start the recovery not to touch the keyboard.

Make sure that the wireless is turned on before commit you to the recovery.

    Best regards

I am very surprised that computer technology has not corrected other problems since the it had replaced the power supply and should have the knowledge necessary to get you up and ongoing enforcement.

If you do not have a set of external support of HP recovery, then you should consider ordering a set of HP as soon as POSSIBLE, you might have other issues that may require external support.

  • Cannot perform the factory restore, ThinkPad T530 with Windows 8

I just plug a new ThinkPad T530 with 64-bit Windows 8. I was playing around with it a bit, the installation of applications different but then decided to do a factory reset in order to get a clean machine again. I entered the recovery (F11 at startup) and utility of Windows 8 was launched recovery utility and I chose the "Reset Your PC". When the action has started the application asked me for the installation media THAT has NOT been PROVIED by lenovo. After I went back to Windows 8 and tried to make a rescue and the recovery disk using the Windows 8 feature, but again I got the same message asking me to insert the diskettes to install for Windows 8. I see that my machine has 2 recovery Partitions, so my question is WHY don't I RESTORE MY PC to FACTORY SETTING with the HELP of THE PARTITIONS on the DISK?

Guys, I think I found a solution for this problem (no reservoir of lenovo). Here goes:
Run diskpart (Win + R key)-> write DISKPART.
    A command-line interface will appear.
Volume of writing list (lists the partitions on your disk)
Look for the partition that is marked as Lenovo_Recovery (in my case was Volume 3, size of 10 GB)
Select which-> the partition using the command select volume 3 (as in my case was volume 3)
Display the partition using the command-> assign letter g (or whatever letter you have available)
Take any collection action you like. I tried the "Create recovery disk' and 'Refresh PC', in both cases before this fix I received a message where I was asked for the installation DVD, but this case operations past.
Final-> hide the partition using the command, delete the letter g. This will not disable the functionality of recovery but will hide you partition which is a good thing, so you don't mess anything.

  • Laptop HP g6 - 2183sr: Windows hangs at startup; How to do a factory reset?

    Hello

My laptop HP g6 - 2183sr has its windows crashing each time to the attempt to restart and goes in restarts without end

How to perform a factory reset? Is there a factory reset at all? or should I order a DVD recovery HP desktop system?

Any help, please? I tried to use F10 on startup, but it leads to wich BIOS that I don't need. When I try F11 he prays instalation DVD.

    Please, what happens?

Factory reset is made from F11. If it doesn't work not your recovered files may be damaged. HP support a call to order of the restore media.

If you live in the United States / CA, coordinated HP here.
