Fades the active window on the desktop

I am running Windows 7 Professional on a Dell Vostro 3500 laptop.  I work in a window when the window suddenly disappears and the screen returns to my office.  This embarrassing problem which happens frequently and does not appear depends on which application I use both.  It doesn't seem to be a power setting or a problem of low battery, as the screen goes - it just goes back to my desktop.

Need suggestions for a solution, please.

Stop putting your cursor at the bottom right on your taskbar, because it is Show Desktop in Aero.

  • The desktop icons and taskbar disappear when windows has finished starting - any of the usual things help

I have a Windows XP Home Edition with a breath main card computer.  Replaced the Board, PS and other items.  Then re-activated windows and everything was fine.  Until the last moment, I rebooted after activating it.  I have the problem that I have seen posted in a bit.  When Windows has finished initializing all the desktop icons and task bar etc. disappear.  Nothing works.

I can bring up the Task Manager and manually run programs, etc.

Believe me when I say I spent reviewing EACH reference to this problem... Yes 5 days and counting... Tried them all.

I also tried a repair of windows in place which ends without any problem (twice)... but still no icons or taskbar.  I also ran several controls of virus, including one for the virus, which is usually the cause of this problem.  (fsnimda3.exe), I tried all the ideas in another thread (page 9) and many other institutions.  Before I did the reconstruction of the material I've cloned the original hard drive and have used the disc cloned juggling his original for the back.  Even tried to reinstall the old disk and do a comparison of sector by sector, in the case where my cloning process missed something.  In the 30 years I've been in the computer business I have never had a re - format a hard drive to solve a problem.  BUT I think it will break my record.

  • Active window color problem - cannot change the background color

original title: Active window color problem

By right-clicking: Desktop, then click on: personalization / window color and appearance / settings (Advanced) appearance, Windows user can assign a background color of the active window in any application.  This is useful for those of us who don't want a stark white screen; We can assign a mild pastel tint which may be easier on the eyes for long term sessions.

At some recent point, I lost the background color of the active window within Windows uses 'household.  I still not my background color assigned in any application I run (Word, Mail, etc.), but using Windows Explorer to navigate through my hard drive, the active window is now always the default stark white Windows.  How this change and can it be forced to adhere to the assigned active window background color?

Step 1: Check if the problem continues in a new user account.

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in a new user account, then the old profile could have been corrupted. Try the following article to fix a corrupted user profile.

  • Stuck on blue HP Invent screen and not loading Windows not items on the desktop after you done a system recovery

Hello, this is my first time posting here, because I'm in desperate mode!  I have a HP Pavilion Slimline s5304y using Windows 7, desktop pc that I bought in February 2010.

After getting a virus on my computer, I ordered system of HP recovery disks, and made to factory settings recovery process (twice!), however, during the Windows install process, it never cross the blue HP Invent screen that says:

-Do not turn off your PC during this unique installation process

-Your PC will restart several times during the installation process

-Messages may appear on your screen. Ignore these messages until you are prompted to restart or shut down your PC

To the bottom of the screen, it keeps saying "Please wait...". "with a green scroll bar. What I see is the buttom to start at the bottom left corner but I am not able to access anything whatsoever and I never get my desktop screen or the desktop icons. I restarted and closed several times, and as soon as I log on windows, I just get the same blue screen.

The 2nd time I did the recovery process, I let him continue overnight (just in case I was not waiting long enough) and my computer never stop as it was supposed to when the installation is complete.  In addition, the whole process, I looked the first time around and my computer never restarted as he said he was supposed to; It seems to just be stuck for the rest of the installation procedure for windows.  There finally comes to switch to "standby" mode.

I have nothing plugged on the other except the power cord, monitor, and keyboard/mouse.  I have not installed new hardware since I bought the computer.

I did a test of diagnosis and everything going on.

I tried to get help from HP Support, but because I am out of the warranty period, they cannot help me and want to charge me $99!

I don't know what else to do at this point. Can someone please?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Assuming that maybe that's a problem with the recovery discs, it is a simple work-around if you have (or can borrow) an installation disc Windows 7 at retail which is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - IE if your PC comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, it comes to the exact retail version that you would need.

If you do not access to the retail drives, you can create an installation disk yourself - just download good picture disc from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/Download-Windows-7-ISO-official-32-bit-and-64-bit-direct-download-link...

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the sticker COST on your PC on demand, and when the installation is complete, use the 'method of phone", described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want just a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally delivered with OEM installations.

Additional drivers, you may need can be found here.

  • Windows 7 takes a long time to load the desktop after login

    Hello

I am using windows 7 on my HP 530 laptop. My friend who installed and activated, but I think that it has installed the cracked version. After installation, it was really perfect. but after a while when I connected to the internet, some updates have been installed, and then when I logged in the windows, he invites me that you are using a pirated version or something like that (I don't know more actually). then I restored to my previous state and then everything was fine. After that I stopped the automatic updates, but these days my startup window is having a few problems. After entering the password, its taking a long time to load the office and its keep on the list "loading, please wait...". »

I'm so sick of that, also, I have to restart my laptop by pressing the power button, and after the reboot, it works fine. But I need someone to answerwhy its taking a long time to load the desktop...?

Also, please give me some advice to solve this problem, keep this idea in mind that my computer is virus free and got a good processor and RAM. I installed my windows in the C drive, and in my C drive only almost 2 GB of space is left (or almost). and there is no program running auto in msconfig, other than gtalk, Skype, etc.

I'll be really grateful if someone please give me the solution.

HP would have provided your preinstalled laptop with win, they would also have provided a way to recover your laptop to the specifications of the factory, either through discs of recovery or a hidden restore partition that you need to access in order to make recovery disks. How do you access a recovery partition is an option of HP, is not dealing with a MS - visit the HP website, specific to your model for more details on how.

If an illegal win7 version has been installed, or you have to buy version of win7 you need, or you need to recover your laptop provided that the factory provided, by doing so, you lose everything on the phone, if you have lost or that you can not do the restore cd and then telephone HP support they would usually provide records for a small fee.

  • The mouse only works in the active window and cannot select drop-down menus (W7)

    Hello

I can't understand what is the cause. I can only select things in the active window with my mouse, I can't move the window, I can't click on anything whatsoever outside of it.

ATM by writing this, I can not open another program or select the bar of tasks or do anything outside that window. (unless I use CTRL-ALT-DEL and force to select a new active window with my keyboard)

Another thing is that everything works within the window, except one thing, menus drop down, I can bring up the menu drop-down but can not select anything on the menu.

I reinstalled windows to do this same thing. I can't understand why windows doesn't let me choose some things outside my main window, it's that I'm sort of protected mode.

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

    -What is laptop or desktop?
-What is the brand and model of the mouse? Is it wired or wireless mouse?
-Have you tried plugging the mouse on another computer?

Method 1: I would also say you update the drivers for the mouse on the computer and check if it helps.
Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

Method 2: Also, I suggest you use Microsoft Safety scanner to make sure that your computer is free from malware and check if it helps.
    Microsoft safety scanner
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for the use of antivirus software that offers continuous protection. For a real-time protection that helps you keep your home or small office PC against viruses, spyware and other malicious software, download Microsoft Security Essentials.
Method 3: I suggest you try to check with the other mice to make sure that the problem is not with the computer.

If it is a laptop, I suggest you to check if a FN key function is to to do this. As you are facing the issue after reinstalling the operating system, I also suggest you check with the manufacturer of the computer, if there is this key.

    Hope this information helps.
  • How can I change the color of the background of the active window in Windows 8 (and the text format/color window)?

In all versions of windows, we could change the color of the active windows (not just the border, but the color of real background in windows as well as the font type and color).  How can I do this in Windows 8?  The option does not appear in the Customization screen.

Found the fix. Right-click on the desktop and choose "Customize".  Under my themes, choose the high contrast theme (select all). Once this is done, under the themes is a box that will say 'color' "high contrast". Go in there, and you can now customize Windows background, text, hyperlinks, text disabled, Selected text, window pane, Inactive window tile and button. AKA, I have no need to watch a white background in my active windows, which is nice!

  • activated via the desktop experience, Flash still does not, why?

We have servers Windows Server R2 2012.

I activated the office experience via PowerShell, I checked the addon Flash is on, I cleaned the cache files, I did everything that I could find...

    Flash still does not work!

I even updated and rebooted the testing server - still no Flash when I visit the page using Adobe Flash.

    What should I do now?

It's on a test server that never had Flash on it before installing the desktop experience to enable Flash.

Other servers have had the IE plugin installed, and this plugin can be removed.

I have run Windows Update to download Flash and IE up to date.

    Thank you, Tom

    Hello

Have you tried to add the site to the list of "Trusted Sites"? I have enabled the desktop (via the Manager server and PowerShell) experience on a Windows Server 2012 and has been invited to add the site (helpx.adobe.com) to the list of Trusted Sites for the display of the page (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-8.html) the flash content.  Windows servers have stricter security restrictions and I often find that I have to add sites to the trusted to have content Sites to display list.

  • Windows 7 does not start directly on the desktop

    Hi guys,.

Need your help on this one... .my computer runs windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, I just installed VMware workstation 7.1. Problem is this

Before installation of VMware, when I turn on my computer, it starts directly on the desktop but now it starts until the windows login screen where I choose me as the user (Administrator) after having chosen only then it opens a session on the desktop. Please, keep in mind, there is only 1 user account created for this computer and it's me... what could be the problem? I don't want that... I want windows to load directly on my desk after turning on my computer.

I didn't mingle with the settings under VMware before asking you guys... as I am a first time user of VMware.

Would appreciate any help a little. Thank you

Workstation creates a user account for its own use. Even if this account is hidden (that is why you don't see on the login screen), it always results in that there is more than one account is activated, which in turn disables the automatic connect feature. You can reactivate autologinby following the instructions here:

  • How to configure the desktop or the taskbar icon/link to Firefox so 42 or more recent version of Firefox always opens in a 'new private window'?

I use Linux on my Acer laptop. I want to use Mozilla Firefox version 42.0 or more recent in the 'new private window Mode"always. When I click on the Firefox icon on my desktop or the taskbar, I want Firefox to open in 'New private window' always; no exception. When I click on the tab button or a link, all new pages should always open 'Private window' mode. In addition, I want to know that I am in a private window with privacy mask showing. Your help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you, Amos.

Hi Amos, assuming you want to get more protection, monitoring, there are a few options:

    • You can customize your firefox shortcut on the desktop or the taskbar to open firefox directly in private browsing mode: right-click the shortcut "mozilla firefox", go to properties, and at the end of the target line that should hold them the way to the firefox program folder add " -private"
    • You can enable protection followed not only during private browsing, but in normal windows as hollow a 'hidden' preference: enter on: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named privacy.trackingprotection.enabled. Double-click it and change its value to true.
    • You can set firefox don't remember history in the menu > options > sign confidentiality in order to always run in private browsing mode. However you will not be able to open all normal windows or record the history and passwords if you have defined this mode: confidentiality, and-not-track browsing history settings
  • I can't find the FF in 10 Windows anywhere... I downloaded, refreshed, etc... but no visible icon on the desktop, the icon taskbar, dosen't show at "all apps".

I can't find the FF in 10 Windows anywhere... I downloaded, refreshed, etc... but no visible icon on the desktop, the icon taskbar, dosen't show at "all apps".

See if there is a Mozilla Firefox directory in C:\Program Files (x 86). If so and there are files in this directory, you should be able to reinstall Firefox without losing your preferences.

Also, you should be able to run it by typing "Firefox" at a DOS command prompt. If it is running, then just create icons yourself.

  • How to make Thunderbird out of 10 Windows on the desktop homepage

My wife just upgraded to Windows 10 and Foxfire, and Thunderbird are absent from the Office home page. We rely on Thunderbird to our email, and I have no idea how to get the Thunderbird account on her computer now. He is hidden somewhere in this new Windows OS (I hate that already!)? Or do I have to go through the entire download and installation and configuration both programs all over again? My wife did not have backups of windows 7 as she should have, so it is not nothing saved which is useful for this purpose. What should I do BEFORE starting the process of upgrade on my PC (which I use now) or my laptop, which continue to run Windows 7? 75 I'm tired of all the current evolving, which none did calculation easier or faster, just more difficult. Give me Windows 98SE - was by far the easiest to use and easy to reinstall and not lose anything.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Changes with the upgrade to Windows 10 depends on the base of Windows. If you have Windows 7/8/8.1, all your programs and files reside.

For your wife's computer, maybe it's just that the shortcuts on the desktop were removed, but Firefox and Thunderbird are still installed. To check this, open Windows Explorer and access the C:\Program Files (x 86)folder. You can find"Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird folder.

For your computer, if you want to be more careful, take a look at this support article: back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.
