  • KB2887069 Windows update fails to install, even with the audio drivers and uninstalled AV

KB2887069 Windows update fails to install, even with the audio drivers and uninstalled AV.

Background: I am setting up a pavilion of 500-164 equipped with OEM specs, specifically:

    -AMD/Radeon APU

    -Windows 8 6.2.9200

-See sysinfo below for more details

The PC brought to the specifications of the plant, with all Windows updates applied with the exception of KB2887069, which breaks down at the update.  With the exception of troubleshooting the failure of the update, none of the changes have been made.  The Windows KB2887069 update fails to install as well through the automated process when tried manually via a direct download.

Additional troubleshooting measures to date include:

-Uninstall the software OEM AV (Norton), then by restarting.

-Temporarily disable all the features of Windows Defender.

-Temporarily uninstall the audio driver (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) OEM.

-Realization of an analysis of the SFC system (with no error found).

Results: The Windows Update full KB2887069 with a failed State and produced the following results.

I find it peculiar that you just bought a HP computer brand new, still-in-the-box, which came with Windows 8, not 8.1, preinstalled Windows. That said, cross your fingers, roll up your sleeves and try the fix following multiple step, I cooked up just for your computer...

    ACTIONS

[You may want to print these instructions for reference offline.  IMPORTANT => NO SKIP & perform all steps in one uninterrupted session!  [If a step said to restart, restart! ]

1 right-click on the link, select SAVE TARGET as.... & download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above and select run as administrator to run the Norton utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    4. right-click on the following link and save the download to your desktop: ie8 - rereg.all.zip [1]

4B. right click on the file that you saved in # 4 has & select EXTRACT ALL. This will create a new folder in Office also appointed ie8 - rereg.all. The folder contains both scripts below (plus a third that will NOT be).

    Note-online scripts are good for IE9, IE10 & IE11, too,

    5. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the task bar), open the folder created in step # 4 b above & double-click on the file named ie8 - rereg.32on64.cmd to run the script.

5 b. Repeat this for the file named ie8 - rereg.64on64.cmd then restart.

    6. reset Internet Explorer by the MANUAL of instructions on this page-online http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

Note => for best results, check the option Remove personal settings .

7 run the Windows Update Troubleshooter from start to finish by the first paragraph on this page-online http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates [2]

    8. restart once more then test by launching a manual check of updates & see if KB2887069 any/all others updated and allows to install now. Follow all the instructions.

    9. assuming all went well, see if Windows 8.1 is available through the store Windows and, if so, if it will be properly installed. Still, follow all the instructions.

  • Update for Windows 8 (KB2822241) fails to install and has the error Code 800703F1

Greetings. My system Windows 8 found a major update, but it cannot install it. The update is called "Update for Windows 8 (KB2822241)." I try to install it and it installs and I see a screen that says:
    ________________________________
Some updates have not been installed.

    Failed: 1 update
    Examine the important updates

    Error (s) found:

Code 800703F1 Windows Update has encountered a problem. Get help with this error
    ________________________________

From there, I have the option to 'Try again', but when I try I always get the same result (error 800703F1). I already tried the Windows Update troubleshooting tool and whenever I run that he finds two problems and offers correct: "Repair Windows Update Database Corruption" and "repair the Windows Update components. I had it apply these patches every time, but the problem persists.

I read about this setting by using the function "sfc/scannow", but oddly, when I try even in an elevated command prompt he also fails. It scans absolutely nothing and says: "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."
The 'Windows Modules Installer"service is set to"Manual"and runs, as I read it is necessary.

What is really weird, is that in my list of installed updates, KB2822241 stands as one of the updates already installed with the name of "update for Microsoft Windows" (instead of "update for Windows 8"as one continues to try to install my PC), and when I run the independent for this update installer (I downloaded from the web site of Microsoft to try it) the installation program indicates the update is already installed, and it closes. This gave me the idea that maybe my PC is confusing one update for the other. After all, why he would find KB2822241 as an important update that it needs if it is already installed?

I know that I can normally solve the problem of update and the question of the SFC by resetting or refresh my PC via built-in tools of Windows 8, but I don't want to go through that, unless it's the only solution. System Restore didn't help, but it is an opportunity to reinstall some other updates.

As it is, then, the problems persist: "Update for Windows 8 (KB2822241)" settles "sfc/scannow" cannot perform the operation and not I ask.

For the record, my machine is a 900 Asus EeePC ha with an Intel Atom N270 CPU, 2 GB of RAM, and it is running 32-bit Windows 8.

I'd appreciate any help on this matter. Thank you in advance.

    Hi Michael,

You can follow this link if you want to refresh your computer.

Note: The applications that came with your PC or you installed on Windows Store will be reinstalled, but all the apps you have installed other Web sites and DVD is deleted. Windows puts a list of applications on your desktop after you refresh your PC.

    Thank you.

  • Intermtient his thundering on initialize toward the top of the Satellite P305-S8842

    All the:

I recently bought a P305-S8842 with Windows Vista. A few days after the purchase, I went to restart it, and this sound signal strong, smoke detector started emitting from my laptop.

When at last the booted system, it was as if a key has been blocked! Each icon, the cursor passed from launch. When I finally got that cleared up and clicked on Internet Explorer, it's like 20 pages or so open.

In the last two weeks, I removed the main of 200 GB HARD drive and upgraded to a Western Digital 320 GB HDD. Things seem very well until yesterday in which at start, the sound signal again.

Had a bar that says "Loading Windows files", but the machine kept beeping until start-up has been finished.
However, once again, all that the cursor was placed on starting about 20 times.

It was like a stuck button there somewhere and I'm not. Still don't know what was causing this loud beep when booting to the top (and re-boot). And Yes, I would get the System Repair window as well from time to time.

Today, I was able to reload everything from Toshiba recovery disks and now the machine seems to work very well.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this situation.
In addition, when the laptop was made the beep, the screen would be periodically flash like the F2 or F12 key had been pressed.

Looks like I'm good to go for now, I was wondering what to do if it happens again. It's kind of curious behavior comes with 2 separate hard drives. Thanks in advance for any help.

Since 3 days I have friends Satellite P300. I made some experiences with Vista and install of WXP and everything work fine.
It is not easy to say what has happened with your laptop, but you should be happy that this issue is resolved.

I put t think anyone here will be able to say with certainty why this happened.

BTW: Thanks for the info on HDD upgrade. This upgrade information is always helpful here. If possible, after the exact description of the HDD model.

    Bye and good luck!
