  • Failed to install Java plugin after a clean install of Java7 or java8

    Hello
recently, I saw my plugin Java was vulnerable and outdated so I uninstalled the old completely and downloaded the latest 8u45 of Java.
Now, after the installation, I don't see any mention to the new Java plugin on the plugins screen in Firefox. In java Control Panel the ability to "enable Java content on my browser" was already checked, but still Java not enabled on my browser anything.
I even tried to install the package SDK or earlier version like Java 7u80 the two gave the same result.

Here's my proposal: you have installed the 64-bit Java, but not 32-bit. Since Firefox is a 32-bit application, to get the dll works with all applications, you also need to install JRE 32 bit. See:

  • Unable to install Java, get error codes

My OS is Vista Home premium 32-bit with sp2 from Vista

Last night, I tried to install Java 6 Update 23. I had java 6 Update 22. So I deleted it via the function of Vista uninstall program. I rebooted after uninstalling. I then and manually removed all elements and Sun/Java files. I rebooted again

I went to the site of java and started the installation process

I was able to download the installation, but not able to install it

    The following message received

Cannot locate the network location %APPDATA%\protector.exe Error 1606

So I googled the Error 1606 and on the Microsoft site, it seemed to be a tool for the mistakes of 1606

So I tried to run this tool and then got an error code 2738, so was not able to run the tool

Error code 2738 looked up and he said something about the following dll files can not be registered

    They areandjscript.dll of vbscript.dll

So I joined two of them using the

Regsrv32 process. Both have shown now to be registered

But then when I went to run the correction tool to correctthe Error 1606, she always failed

I went ahead and even looked at the items of register which shall be fixed by the FIX IT tool for Error 1606 and the elements of the registry seem correct

I even tried to go back and install java and obtained once again that the errorcan not locate the network location %APPDATA%\protector.exe Error 1606

So I'm at a loss to know what to do next

It is the suggestion of Oracle/Sun: http://java.com/en/download/help/error_installshield.xml

This Fixit did you use http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2258121 orhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/886549 ? Have you checked the registry entries listed? (It may be legitimate differences on your system if you have moved the files like Documents). The FixIt must be performed on the account where you do the install. If you start in a standard user account and rise to an administrator by an account invite UAC, you must run the Fixit in the administrator account.

Java is happy to do an update on the spot; Perhaps you forgot something in the registry that is causing a problem.

  • 12.5.1 iTunes fails to install (new)

My Toshiba Portege running Win7 fails to install iTunes 12.5.1.  It's the same problem, I met years ago with 6464 installers, but found the installer for old video cards work perfectly.  Apparently someone at Apple decided to not (yet) offer Setup for older video cards for 12.5.1.  I spent 6 hours so far today tried a multitude of settings with installer 6464.  In the meantime I have remove all the Apple software in the prescribed sequence and restart.  I've got rights admin - so what happens?  I'm headed to 12.4.3 now so I can communicate with my new iPhone SE.

Okay - I found my own solution, but he was buried in the documents to help around to install iTunes on Windows. Apparently I can't find the version of iTunes for older video cards directly by Apple, but there was a link in the help to the 12.5.1 document version.  With the download of the iTunes64Setup (not the 6464), I was able to successfully install 12.5.1! Now, I can't wait for the next update see how much fun it will be to locate the 64 version...

  • 28.0 Firefox indicates that my installed Java SE 7 U51 is vulnerable (2014 03 20)

When I use: 'tools-> Add-ons-> Plugins' and select "Check to see if the plugins are up to date", Firefox 28.0 (said currently the last updated version) means that the detected Java version (currently Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U51) 'Vulnérable' is and suggests an update.

The Java Web site indicates that Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U51 is the latest version. Download and re-installing Java and do a reboot system does not change the behavior of Firefox, it continues to mark the
Java version as requiring an update.

Is there a vulnerability recently discovered in Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U51 or Firefox is just having a good time watching me try to argue a problem?

Java 8 comes out; could it be the problem?

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/Java/JavaSE/Overview/index.html

The design of the site check plugin (the last time I checked) don't accommodate several "current" versions So if the site has been updated to recognize Java 8 as current, it could lead to a lot of confusion.

Assuming that the Plugins addons page section has not disabled Platform SE 7 U51 (based on the block file that Firefox downloads regularly), then I think it's probably still good.

(I actually U45 on this computer, oops, so I can't test the response to U51 right now.)

    Hello

Try checking your version of plugins:

I don't see Java installed on your computer also.
    Where's the installer?

    Also:
Try going to Subject: config search plugin.state.java and change its truevalue, too, go to Tools > > Addons > > Plugins and look for Java and change his option still active or have active

  • It not install Java!

I downloaded the latest version of Java (8 v71) but it won't install. I open the file and enter the InstallWizard, however, when it opens, a loading turns wheel a little and then loading the next page (it seems to mention something about 3 million users?) then closes... I guess it hangs. I downloaded and tried to do so many times, I have tried via a different user account and it will not be installed.

    Thanks for any help.

Hello Nick, I guess you tried to install Java to the main site of the right Oracle? Try you also test if you have Java by going on safari and test it out (Java does not work on Chrome). In the terminal, make a Java version as what I typed below
