failed to install/update iTunes wins 10 64-bit

I can't get the last update to install on my machine 10-64 victory.  I get the following errors:

Event ID: 1013

Product: iTunes - there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your provider to support personal or package.

and

Product: Apple Software Update - error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your provider to support personal or package. Action: SoftwareUpdate_UnregServer, location: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Apple Software Update\SoftwareUpdate.exe, command: /UnregServer

Any suggestions?

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, and then reinstall iTunes.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

I am currently using Win7 Ultimate 64-bit. So, can I get speed by installing an OS Win 7 32 - bit OS 64-bit instead?

In some instances Yes, I got Windows 7 64 bit on a computer with 2 GB of RAM, I noticed after some time, he was not optimal. I decided to try 32 bit Windows 7 and seen improving overall performance with regard to the execution of applications and operating in Windows 7.

Windows 7 64 bit comes in handy when you need to deal with at least 4 GB of RAM or more. Windows 7 32 bit can use up to 3.2 GB of RAM. Because the address space of memory is much larger for 64-bit Windows, this means that you need two times more memory than the 32-bit Windows to accomplish some of the same task, but you are able to do much more, you can have more apps open, do things like run a virus scan in the background it will affect the performance of your system. 64-bit Windows 7 is safer too, malicious code cannot easily infiltrate it, drivers are more reliable because they must be signed before it can work with 64 bit Windows 7.

Regarding compatibility, you need device drivers 64-bit hardware devices, you may have. In addition, there is no 16-bit subsystem in Windows 7 64-bit, which means, your applications must be 32-bit only, not 16-bit Installer or programs uninstaller.

  • KB3034344 Windows update fails to install, update is broken and cannot be fixed

I am running Windows 8 on a machine that has been upgraded to Windows 7 (and initially Windows Vista).

My current problem is that updated that kb3034344 fails to be installed. When I run the troubleshooter for update, he finds 2 questions and correct, but the same items are found whenever I run a convenience store. I downloaded the latest update problems resolution, and after running it then windows update also mistakes trying to find new updates (a 8024, 000). I was able to fix this before, but it always comes back to this specific update, do not install. I ran through several steps: any attempt manual repair windows update, reboot with all the services of the disabled package (clean boot), sfc, ongoing execution and one or two other thing I don't remember. I'd be happy to do a fresh install of windows, but I don't think I can do that with my Windows 8 upgrade disc, which may also be damaged and the cause of my problems. I don't have any running antivirus software.

Any suggestions on what to do next? I can't install the update to Windows 8.1 due to failure of the update pending, and I think that is required to qualify for an upgrade to Windows 10 when possible.

    Hi Timmus,

You receive an error message when IE or Windows crash updates? Does IE crash on all other sites? Follow the steps in this document to check see if there recorded events that correspond with the accidents.

Also, try the following steps to see if you can install the update in safe mode with networking:

    1. Restart your computer and immediately press the F8 key until you get to the Recovery Console.
    2. Select Mode safe mode with networking
    3. Install updates

I'm sure you have a number of installed updates then I suggest to install in small batches instead of trying to install them all one at a time.

Let us know if that helps.

  • Satellite L750D - update in Win 7 32 bit for win 10 64 bit

    The installation was successful?

Well win 10 came and I changed a few things in the start when the laptop computer just restarted.

Windows 10 tried to solve the problem and said that it was impossible.
I tried various recovery options that are offered by Windows 10, but all have failed to solve the problem.
It seems to be a screen driver problem.

The laptop was initially under Windows 7 32-bit before the upgrade, so so, the pilots would have been 32-bit.
I have Windows summise 10 is now only 64-bit.

See attached picture to screen before it fails.
Screen splach windows at the start of the 4 blue pane window is correct, it's just, then the windows logon id screen supposed to show that you get the example attached.

You perform an upgrade or a new installation?

As much as I know it should not possible to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to win 10 64 bit... you need the 64-bit version to get win 10 64-bit.

In case you have made a 'upgrade', you could try to turn the clock back 10 Windows to an earlier version of Windows:
    Settings > update & security > recovery.

If the options to go back and restore the factory settings are not available, you can use Setup Toshiba recovery media to install an earlier version of Windows

    Hi Jeff,

Welcome to the Microsoft community. According to the description of the problem, you are not able to download and install service pack 3 (SP3). Provide the following information:

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You are able to install other updates successfully?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         You use a third-party security software?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Follow the steps in the article.

Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.

    Hi zsaire,

Let us know the updates that need to be download.

First go through all the steps and then start troubleshooting.

Click Start, type services.msc in the start search box, right-click to services.msc, and then click Run as administrator.

    Check the above services below:
    (a) Background Intelligent Transfer Service
    (b) cryptographic service
    (c) Windows Update

Step 2: Rename the Catroot2 folder

To rename the Catroot2 folder, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type cmd in the search box and right-click on cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
    2. at the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each line:

    net stop cryptsvc
    Ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 oldcatroot2
    net start cryptsvc

    % systemroot%\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}

If any of the files that begin with tmp exist in this folder, do not remove any other files. Files .cat in this folder are necessary for installing hotfixes and service packs.

Important: Do not rename the folder C:\windows\system32\catroot. The Catroot2 folder is automatically recreated by Windows, but the C:\windows\system32\catroot folder is not recreated if is renamed the folder C:\windows\system32\catroot.

Step 3: Reregister DLL files that are associated with Cryptographic Services

To register .dll files that are associated with Cryptographic Services, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type cmd in the search box and right-click on cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.

    2. at the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each command:

    Hi Marco

As I can see from another thread, you Satellite L50-A-1CU. According to the specifications of the laptop this laptop was offered with pre-installed 64 bit ML WIN8.1.
Preinstalled OS contains all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities, so I want to ask you if there is a problem with the feature.

Please don't get me wrong, but I use laptop 4 years but always with the original substance of preinstalled and everything works perfectly so I don't see the reason to change anything if the machine works well and pre-installed OS is stable.

One last thing. Do not use the Microsoft drivers. Some of them are offered as optional Windows updates. Don change anything. Use the original Toshiba drivers only.

I just installed Acrobat Pro XI Pro on Windows 10 Pro and have two problems 1) Acrobat browser print print driver crashes and updates 2) fail with the error code 1328 (Config.Msi update failed). How to solve these problems?

It saddens me. I'm afraid you've been scammed. This seems to be a pirate site, selling stolen software. A clue is that she sells older versions of Acrobat to download, when Adobe stopped them. And the prices are really too good to be true.

One of the things about pirate software is that it often contains malware, to steal your credit cards, bank details, or whatever. So what you download is changed, rather than the original Adobe. This is why the update fails, it can only update the real thing.

I encourage to get a refund from your credit card company and block the card, wipe your system and do a clean reinstall to get out this dangerous software.
