Failed to load Web pages. Have network connection.

Hello. I have a HP Pavilion with Windows 8.0. I've updated to 8.1 via the MS site a couple of months.

Windows did an automatic update yesterday and now none of my browsers will take care of all the pages. I'm in Chrome and IE. My network connection shows good being, with internet access. I can connect to the network with my other devices. I ran the connection network and network adapter troubleshooting. The resolution of NIC detected problems and correction of an error, but still no pages will download.

Help?

Hey Kevin,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that Internet Explorer does not load Web pages. I can imagine the disadvantages suffered by you and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem.
However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

  1. This happens with all sites or with any specific Web site?
  2. You make changes to the computer recently after the upgrade to Windows 8.1?
  3. What security software is installed in the system?

The question may arise for various reasons, including firewalls third program antivirus is blocking the connection or proxy connection problem. In the order

Method 1:

I suggest you run the troubleshooting Internet Explorer Performance Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

  1. Drag from the right edge of the screen (if you use a mouse, press Windows + C ) and then tap or click Search. Enter the Troubleshooting in the search box, and then tap or click settings.
  2. Press or click Troubleshooting in the search results pane.
  3. In the window of the incident, tap or click view all.
  4. Press or click Internet Explorer Performanceand in the Performance of the Internet Explorer window, press or click Next.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to run the troubleshooter.

If the problem persists, try the following method.

Method 2:

The question may also arise if Internet Explorer moves all the graphics and text rendering from the CPU to the GPU (Graphics Processing). So, you can check the Web sites after enabling or disabling hardware acceleration for hardware or software compatibility with some websites display.

Please, try the following steps:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click on the Tools icon in the upper right corner, then Internet Options.
  3. Click the Advanced tab and under Accelerated graphics, select the checkbox made software use instead of GPU rendering . Clear the check box if it is already selected.
  4. Click applyand then click OK.

If the problem persists, try the following method.

Method 3:

Add-on Internet Explorer, such as ActiveX controls and browser toolbars, are used by some Web sites to provide a better browsing experience. An error may occur if an add-on is damaged or if an add-on conflicts with Internet Explorer. To determine if the error is caused by an add-on, run Internet Explorer in "no Add-ons" mode

Here are the steps:

  1. Press the Windows key + R, type iexplore - extoff and click OK.
(Internet Explorer opens in mode without modules)
  2. Test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly.

If the problem occurs not in Mode modules no., then check out the link below.

To manage add-ons in Internet Explorer, you can consult the following link:

Manage Add-ons in Internet Explorer

In addition, see the procedure for Internet Explorer on Windows 8 was provided in the following article:

Can't access some Web sites in Internet Explorer

Note: The steps for Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8 also apply to Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 8/8.1

  • FF goes through periods of refuse to load web pages

Since the last 7.0.1 update, Firefox repeatedly through periods of obstinancy. He started with a short time but now is quite persistent.

What is happening is that the web pages just refuse to load. Any page. FF is sitting there as it tries to connect, but it never does. FF restarting can sometimes coax brief connectivity for the tabs saved, but the refusal to load pages an almost immediate return.

Finally, FF comes out of his snit and I can browse normally for a few hours-but then, apropos of nothing, he'll go back to being themselves.

I am running Windows XP and CA Security Center Firewall. FF was going well until it update 7.0.1. Internet Explorer and other Internet programs work very well.

Even though I am connected to the internet, web pages does not load. Fault-finding, he said: I have "limited access" (I tried the rigid cable and the woman - same deal, no go).

Thought it could be my ISP, I was on the phone with support from AT & T and we conducted tests and ping showed packets leaving and entering normally and I can connect to the line I play, but does not load Web sites. No home page, no email, nada.

I'm not a geek, so I have little expertise.

Interesting that AT & T support could not help.  When this problem occurs, it could be a virus or malware.  It can also be caused by your antivirus software - imagine that.  But first try to reset the battery.  SEE HERE for a discussion.  Reset in the last section also applies to Windows 7.

  • Cannot open Web pages well that connected to internet

I just bought a laptop from Samsung with Windows 7 and I can connect to internet but cannot open Web pages (occasionally) - of ideas?

You have McAfee? McAfee has been updated at the same time as the last batch of updates from Windows 7 and this is the cause of problems of internet connection for most, if not all, users of McAfee.

See the communication from this "criticism" - McAfee

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

You should make the fix McAfee, if necessary. There are corresponding communications for their enterprise products.

I had to run the removal of McAfee Development tool a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

I got McAfee, but the connection has started working again on its own so I thought I was clear of problems. However, when I checked it says he was doing routine checks the updates in vain when I told it to do a manually. So stick with McAfee you don't follow their procedure of fix would have upgraded my PC at risk by not updated and, like other McAfee ads have since explained, the application did not refer to its database of threats correctly [and this could explain part of the variability of the symptoms of failure but all involved loss of internet connection]. Actually, I removed McAfee then installed Microsoft Security Essentials rather & my answer IE is faster I knew it [even though I had the Add-ons McAfee disabled for centuries].
