Failed to open in a new tab bookmarks
Ten days ago I stopped being able to open bookmarks in a new tab. In fact, if I right click them at all, I get a little gray box. He goes with a reset, but if I try to install one of my old modules (even the ones I installed recently), it comes back. I looked for the programs installed, but I can't find anything that would have caused this.
If it works in Mode safe mode and normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) off and then try to find which extension is the cause by allowing an extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit ' (Windows: Firefox/file > quit;) Mac: Firefox > quit Firefox. Linux: Firefox/file > exit)

I selected the option to open the bookmark in a new tab, but it does that
Hi, as far as I know, bookmarks cannot be opened in a new tab automatically. However this add-on - Open bookmarks in a new tab will do it for you.
Alternatively, you can click the mouse wheel. Or, right click > open in a new tab. Or, hold down the Ctrl key when you click.
Hope that helps.

When I click on a bookmark, it will not open in a new tab
I just got a Macbook Pro and installed Firefox. On a PC, whenever I clicked on a bookmark, it opened in a new tab. The same settings do not work on a Mac. The bookmark opens in the same tab, I was sure. Help please
Hello
My understanding is that the default action for the left by clicking on a bookmark should open in the current tab. If you want to open in a new tab, the Middle click button is usually the way to do it.
You can also install the following extensions that will force all bookmarks to open in a new tab:
Or this extension which will provide further options for tabs (including you):

I just created my bookmarks bar with my URL more often used. However when I click on a URL of my toolbar bookmark, it opens in a sidebar on the left on my main screen and not in a new tab. The sidebar is heavy, because I have to scroll to see the entire screen. How can I get the URL to open in a new tab, not in the sidebar?
Opening in the sidebar is the default action for bookmarks created via a "Mark this Page" link or button on a Web site. Make sure you use many methods to "Bookmark this Page" located in Firefox instead.
Right-click on the bookmark and select Properties, then turn off the preference for the load this bookmark in the sidebar, and then click Save.

No matter how many tabs are open, I can't have a new blank tab by clicking on the tab '+' on the tab bar.
I can't get a new tab by mouse on another tab, the menu of the right 'new tab' button will not work.I CAN select a bookmark 'open in a new tab' works.
I CAN do the same thing on a link, "open in a new tab" opens in a new tab.Uninstall the Ask toolbar, it is known to prevent the open tabs.

How to set default to open in a new tab?
It was when I clicked on a bookmark, a new tab was opened. I did something, but do not know what, so now he opens in a kind of bar on the side of the thing (a smaller part of the tab, I was on). How to reset the bookmark to always open in a new tab without having to do it manually with a right/select click?
«... now it opens in a sidebar...» »
Open the properties for this bookmark and uncheck load this bookmark in the sidebar.
As much as to have bookmarks always open in a new tab - see the extension mentioned in the first answer.

See:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.link.open_newwindow (default: 3) 1: current tab; 2:new window; 3:new tab;
This pref defined the behavior of JavaScript links:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction (default: 2) 0:all; 1:none; 2:only special windows

Open in a new tab or window does not work. How can I fix?
I just upgraded to 36.01. When I right click on a link in the menu of options is long and confusing. When I select open in a new tab or a new window, it does nothing. What can I do to reduce the list of options and how to fix him open a new tab or window option?
Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.
See "create a profile":
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.
Try a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.
- Download the full Firefox installation program and save the file to the desktop
https://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/all/
If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.
- Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.
Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.
- It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.
If you keep problems also create a new profile.

Cannot not average or do a right click on Favorites to open in a new tab
I can no more middle-click a bookmark in the bookmarks menu to open in a new tab. No matter if I have left, middle or right click, it is considered to be a left click and open in my currently open tab.
PS I do this using Firefox 23, but goes the same for Firefox (obtained from Nightly Builds) 26.Bug in Firefox 748850 has a work around: you must use the terminal or a file browser. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.php?title=UserChrome.css in my case is the new required folder & new file are in ~/.mozilla/firefox/randomalphanumeric.default/ you have to create the directory 'chrome' and in the 'userChrome.css' with this text file:
Bookmarks-menu-button {}
display:-moz - box! important ;}
Then restart FF. -
How can I configure search to open in a new tab?
When I do a 'google' search I want to open it in a new tab... How is that defined?
Look at the topic: window configuration of these settings and change them:
- Browser.Search.openintab - if true, will open a search from the search bar in a new tab if you use the return key to trigger the search
- browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground - if true, bookmarks that open in a new tab will not fly goal
- browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground - load the new tab in the background, leaving to focus on the current tab if it is true
- browser.tabs.loadInBackground - not to focus new tabs opened from links (load in the background) If true
- Browser.Tabs.opentabfor.MiddleClick - if true, links can be required to open a new tab if middle-clicked. Useful for search results.

Until this morning, when I clicked on a website in my bookmarks menu, the new site is automatically opened in a new tab, preserving the site that I am consulting. I had no press the 'command' to achieve this. Now, however, I have to press the "Command" key to open a new website to my bookmarks menu and preserve the site earlier I was looking at one. In preferences that I ticked "open new windows in a new tab instead of this". Mac OS X 10.5.8.
You use an add-on for this before? I don't remember what is already the behavior for me. You can use this addon to add:

When I click on a url, it should open in a new tab; why it opens in the same tab?
I have my preferences of Mozilla implemented so that whenever I click on a url, it should open in a new tab, but every once in a while, Mozilla goes on the fritz, and open the new url IN THE SAME TAB! I checked my preferences, they are always well positioned. I checked the tools: Options: general: tabs: open the new window in the tab instead. and when I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately. If it is always well positioned.
What Miss me?
That preference refers to links that are coded to launch in a new window: start them in a new tab instead of a new window.
Unfortunately, there is no adjustment for the links that are coded to launch in the same tab to start them in a new tab instead of in the same tab. You would need an add-on for that.
Normally, I would you recommend checking out Tab Mix Plus as the 'Swiss Army knife' tab features, but lately, it has a small bug so it has not been last updated in recent days, could you hold off on using it.

Why this video keep opening in a new tab without apparent reason

I do not do anything. I just read that a web page and a new tab will be opened with this video game. Any idea what's going on here?
It cannot be the cause of your immediate problem, but I suggest strongly that you disable/remove your plug-in popular screensavers - a part of the troublesome MindSpark family.
Google for information and removal advice. You could start by-

For example, when I enter the search term "cabinets" and get a page/tab search results with suggestions such as Sears, JCPenney, or Amazon, I want to be able to click on Sears and open the Sears page in a new tab/page. I want to be able to close the tab to Sears and use the search results tab.
Google offers a framework for this. What it does, it adds a HTML (target = "blank") statement to every result link, which causes Firefox to open in a new tab. If you uncheck the preference to divert new windows in new tabs, Firefox will then open the result in a new separate window.
This preference is stored in a cookie, if you clear your Google cookies often, so you'll need to reset every time. You can do so here:
https://www.Google.com/preferences
(On this page, Google refers to a new window.)
Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.
