Ifollowed instructions and downloaded... it took about an hour to do. My first problem came when I had to choose between "win32.7z" or "win32.exe". I think I chose "32.7z"... I use windows XP. When I try to run the program, I get a 'windows' failed to open this message.

  You probably wanted to choose the exe.  I think that 7z is a compressed file that you will unizp to get to its content.  You should be able to install a utility to do this.  Here is a link to the 7-zip website, where you can get your hands on their usefulness.
