  • Failed to start Windows Media Player - Version problem

    Hi all

When I try to start Windows Media Player, I get the following error:

the wmplayer.exe file has a version number of 12.0.7601.18526 where 12.0.7601.17514 was expected

I used WMP on this machine before with no problems, probably most recently about a month ago. I have automatic updates on so I don't know exactly when this problem started. I tried to uninstall/reinstall WMP, but this has not led to no success.

Here, any help would be great.

  • When you start Windows Media Player I get error: "Server execution failed".

    Hello

When I try to start Windows Media Player by double-clicking an audio or video file, I get the error "Server execution failed" for this file. Can someone tell me what this means and what I can do about it?

    Thank you

    Christi

    Hi Christi,

You may receive this error if you try to open a file media shortly after the closing of Windows Media Player (WMP).  When you close WMP, the user interface is closed immediately, but WMP continues to be in a State of "shutting down" for a few seconds, and the process is still in activity during this period.

To avoid this problem it should be enough to wait a few seconds before Windows Media Player opens, 2 seconds at least.

  • Mysteriously some 150 songs + if is presented as a playlist on my Windows Media Player without getting anything to create playlist, even if my kitten had passed through the keyboard of my laptop not too long ago.

The songs are a random mix of many / most of the albums that I backed up on my system.  What happened twice, but the second time that the kitten was not involved and the list, various songs from the first game, just showed.  I really like this and I would like to create more random lists such as these two without having to go through all the hassle to use the AutoPlay list feature to enter so many songs.  Here are the parameters of my system, copied from the version of Windows Media Player that I use on a laptop Gateway under Vista Home Premium: Windows Media Player Version 11.0.6002.18111

    Hello

It seems that music files are added to the playlist in the folder of all music. In the list of non-registered, you always have an option to drag files to the playlist or click favorite game, when you click on the favorite game, the music files are added to the list at random.

New playlists can also be created on the fly using the Shuffle Playlist feature. This feature makes it a one-click process to create a new playlist of your favorite songs. With a simple click of the link Playlist Shuffle, Windows Media Player generates a list of tracks weighted by highest ratings. With each click of the link, a fresh and completely new track list is generated.

For more information on "Create or change an auto playlist in Windows Media Player", see these links:

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows media player security update

I can't upgrade to the windows media player security upgrade for my overdrive media player. I go to tools and hit the upgrade of security and nothing happens. Went to the online version to be upgraded and I do not see anything to upgrade for windows 8 (which I hate!) All of the suggestions. I want to download my audio book. I can download MP3 format, but not WMA. Any help would be grateful!

I had the same experience in trying to follow the steps of the OverDrive.

I managed to get the upgrade by following the steps in this document.  Step 1 has a protected DRM file that you can play using Windows Media Player.  If missing the upgrade, since the upgrade button was grayed out on the site, you will receive a pop-up window to upgrade the DRM.  This should be the upgrade which does not work on the site.  Just make sure to play using Windows Media Player as my default player has been set up for a different program and it does not work.

    Let me know what happens.

  • wmpkc32.exe and 0xC00D1199 error code when I start Windows Media Player

    Original title: wmpkc32.exe

I run Windows XP.and my PC shows 0xC00D1199 and wmpkc.exe at different times or places. Are these interdependent? This happens when I want to launch Windows Media Player.

    Hello

-Did you change your computer, after which the question began?
-What version of Windows Media Player do you use?
-Does the problem occur when you try to read a particular file or type when you launch Windows Media Player?

wmpkc32.exe process belongs to malware and may violate your privacy. Please, scan your computer and remove potential threats using the Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Note: You may lose the infected all data by eliminating malware.

    0xC00D1199: cannot play the file

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because:

    1) you try to play a file that is NOT supported by the player.

    2) you try to play a file that the player does not support, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is NOT supported by the player.

    3) the file type is supported, but you try to play in a way that is not supported by the player. For example, you may have attempted to drag a DVD file with a .vob to DVD to Windows Media Player icon.

I would recommend look you at this article and check if you play the file meets the criteria.
