Failed to start Windows Media Player

Windows Media Player stops working

My bodyguard Windows Media Player stopping and removed it from the program from the desktop? Although I keep trying to access this program, "over and over again", it is not possible until I restart the PC, which often means it will be strop working again? It's very frustrating to say the least!

Can anyone help please?

  • Failed to start Windows Media Player - Version problem

    Hi all

When I try to start Windows Media Player, I get the following error:

the wmplayer.exe file has a version number of 12.0.7601.18526 where 12.0.7601.17514 was expected

I used WMP on this machine before with no problems, probably most recently about a month ago. I have automatic updates on so I don't know exactly when this problem started. I tried to uninstall/reinstall WMP, but this has not led to no success.

Here, any help would be great.

  • When you start Windows Media Player I get error: "Server execution failed".

    Hello

When I try to start Windows Media Player by double-clicking an audio or video file, I get the error "Server execution failed" for this file. Can someone tell me what this means and what I can do about it?

    Thank you

    Christi

    Hi Christi,

You may receive this error if you try to open a file media shortly after the closing of Windows Media Player (WMP).  When you close WMP, the user interface is closed immediately, but WMP continues to be in a State of "shutting down" for a few seconds, and the process is still in activity during this period.

To avoid this problem it should be enough to wait a few seconds before Windows Media Player opens, 2 seconds at least.

  • wmpkc32.exe and 0xC00D1199 error code when I start Windows Media Player

    Original title: wmpkc32.exe

I run Windows XP.and my PC shows 0xC00D1199 and wmpkc.exe at different times or places. Are these interdependent? This happens when I want to launch Windows Media Player.

    Hello

-Did you change your computer, after which the question began?
-What version of Windows Media Player do you use?
-Does the problem occur when you try to read a particular file or type when you launch Windows Media Player?

wmpkc32.exe process belongs to malware and may violate your privacy. Please, scan your computer and remove potential threats using the Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Note: You may lose the infected all data by eliminating malware.

    0xC00D1199: cannot play the file

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because:

    1) you try to play a file that is NOT supported by the player.

    2) you try to play a file that the player does not support, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is NOT supported by the player.

    3) the file type is supported, but you try to play in a way that is not supported by the player. For example, you may have attempted to drag a DVD file with a .vob to DVD to Windows Media Player icon.

I would recommend look you at this article and check if you play the file meets the criteria.

After the relocation, the program works very well, BUT after 1 restart then amounts to giving this error. It seems no disernable it model.
