Failover for a distributed cache configuration

Hello

For the configuration of our production, we will have 4 app servers a clone by each application server. so there are 4 clones to a cluster. And we will have virtual machines Java 2 for our distributed cache - being a failover, these two will be in the group.

How do I configure failover for the cache distributed?

Thank you

Right - for each plans closely defined cache would need to have the card high-units back where it could take on 100% of the value data.

More precisely, the near-scheme/back-scheme/distributed-scheme/backing-map-scheme/local-scheme/high-units value (take a look at the [Configuration of Cache items | http://coherence.oracle.com/display/COH34UG/Cache+Configuration+Elements]).

There are two options:

(1) no expiration - in this case you would have to the size that active storage JVMs that a single JVM could store all the data.
or
(2) expiration - in this case you would define high a units value you choose. If you want to store all the data, then it must be set higher than the total number of objects that you will store in the cache at any given time or you can set it lower with the understanding that once top-units is achieved consistency will expel some data of the cluster (i.e. Remove "memory of cluster").

OK, data fault tolerance is enabled by default (set to a level of redundancy).

  • Distributed Cache configuration

    Hello

    I'm setting up a cache in my application system. Distributed of this regime will be in a separate JVM. We have 3 instances of our application to support several outputs and each instance has the same clusteraddress but a different clusterport.

    Example:

    App:
    clusteraddress = 123.456.78.9
    clusterPort = 12345

    App2:
    clusteraddress = 123.456.78.9
    clusterPort = 23456

    App3:
    clusteraddress = 123.456.78.9
    clusterPort = 34567

    I have 3 instances of distributed cache JVM? I don't know how I could distinguish the distributed JVM cache to manage each separately from the app by liberation.

    Thank you

    Hello

    You can also use a single cluster, but three names of service different, even if it means that when bring you down the JVM cache server, bring back you for all three versions.

    Regarding the cache server machines virtual Java, you must use several of them on multiple machines to ensure that the caches are stored and you do not lose data in the event of node failure.

    If you use different groups then you should use another set of JVMs for different groups, otherwise you would be facing the problem even to shoot down all clusters at the same time, to shoot a.

    I would also suggest using a different clusterport, but is also a clusteraddress different for each cluster, as we had some problems when using multiple clusters with only clusterport being different on the same box.

    Hi Zaw,

    According to my understanding of the question you posted "How to configure hardware failover for two NSA3600 with two Internet service providers. »

    If so there is no special configuration is required. It will be like the regular HA installation. the 2nd Internet service provider, you need a switch connecting the two NSA 3600.

  • Distributed cache limit size

    Hello

    I want to create a cache distributed with node 2.

    Each node can have maximum of 500 entries.

    Total entries in the two set of node cache should not exceed more than 1000.

    If the user tries to put more than 1000 items in the cache, then a few old entries from the cache (LRU, LFU) should be removed from the cache and new organizations must be added.

    Can you please help me with the schema for the above scenario.

  • Possible security for the Web-based Configuration

    My colleagues and I found something very interesting today... Despite having configured the FTP security settings (which have been confirmed to set up and in funcitoning. I can't open an FTP session to our remote target without specifying a username admin and the password) If you open the configuration tool based OR web in a browser, you can send via FTP to and from the target using the file remote browser without being connected to all! Everyone knows this?

    Apparently, these permissions are separate from FTP, but you can define these special permissions on the page of the security configuration for the web-based configuration utility.

    Assign the value of the 'context root' as element.

  • Consolidation and failover for the uplink on the Distributed switch port group

    Hello

    I have a problem with the implementation of a distributed switch, and I don't know I'm missing something!

    I have a few guests with 4 of each physical cards. On the host eash I configured 2 virtual switches (say A and B), with 2 physical network by vSwitch using etherchannel adapter. Everything works fine for etherchannel and route based on the hash of the IP for the latter.

    Recently, I decided to create two distributed switches and move the respective physical ports of virtual switches to this distributed switches. Once again, I want to configure etherchannel and route based on the hash of the IP. But when I open the settings for the uplink port group, aggregation and failover policies are grayed out and cannot be changed. Apparently they inherit configuration also but I don't know where!

    You must set the card NIC teaming policy on trade in reality and not on the uplink group more expected.

    Hello

    If you want to make sure that you would not have such problems. Change the HA admission control to "Allow vm can be powered on if they violate grouped availability."

    I saw that I check to restrictive and therefore give more problems using Quen.

    Also remove any reserve memory. Here are the most common reasons.

  • failover for JMS

    Hello
    need help to make the failover jms in weblogic 10.3
    I have confugured
    two jms Server JDBC as a persistence store, jms module with factory connections, distributed queue targeted to a cluster, I want that if a weblogic server is down the other Active Server should have the message that was in the jms server failed.

    thnks in advance
    Schmitt

    In a judgment or a JMS server failure messages are unavailable until the restart of the JMS server. This is true regardless of whether the backup store is a JDBC store or storing files, and if the message is stored in a distributed queue member. For more information on one of the approaches to auto restart, see the white paper "Automatic Service Migration" to [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/weblogic/pdf/weblogic-automatic-service-migration-whitepaper.pdf]

    Here are the best config of highly recommended practice for WL JMS clustering:

    1 - set up a store on each server, each failing migratable target its server target

    2 - configure a JMS server on each server, edit the JMS server to refer to the custom local store and make sure that the JMS server uses migratable target of the server by default (so that it has the same target as his store)

    3. set up a target of cluster module

    4 - configure a subdeployment for the module and fill the subdeployment with the exact list of JMS servers that using your

    5. set up a distributed queue and target the distributed queue targeting advanced so that it is targeted to the subdeployment you defined above

    Once you have completed these steps, you can optionally use the automatic migration feature so that the stores and the JMS servers automatically restart and/or migrate as needed. Another option is to use 'migration of the server' for an automatic restart instead, and still a third option is to use a third-party HA framework to automatically restart failed servers.

    Please JMS related future post questions to the newsgroup JMS.

  • HP Pavilion g7-2004sd suitable for implementing SSD caching and upgrade ethernet card

    I intend to buy the laptop mentioned above, which comes with a 750 GB (5400 RPM) HDD, Windows 7 64-bit operating system.

    To make programs run faster, I want to do an upgrade of SSD with the Intel SSD 313 caching.

    The store where I buy the laptop does not support this, but I was told that the standard HP warranty is not null when done elsewhere. My question what is the best choice for caching, for example 20 GB (by the Intel SSD 313) or by implementing caching of Corsair SSD 60 GB, assuming that, on the motherboard, there is a space for installation of the caching.

    Is it also possible to upgrade the ethernet card and replace the default map with this one:

    Intel WiFi 300Mbps (6235 N) + Bluetooth 2.1, 2, 1 + EDR, 3.0, 3.0 + HS, 4.0 (WHEAT) (dual 2.4 Ghz & 5.0 Ghz band)

    to make the WiFi works best when more than one user.

    To be honest, I'm not sure that this system will support the caching of the WSSD.  Pagedownload of systems that caching of the WSSD to support have usually a driver Intel RST available under chipset on the software and drivers.  This feature is generally reserved for the final product lines more high as ultrabooks and some Envy laptops.

    Page 41 of this guide lists the available wlan modules that will work in this book.  If it is not in this list and was not ordered to HP, then the wlan card will not work.

    To be honest, looks like a Ultrabook as is this a more of what you are looking for because it comes with a cache of WSSD drive.  It does not list the technical details, but it appears when the customization of the laptop and it is not removable during the configuration of the laptop.

  • How to plan the failover for the following scenarios in Flex-connect mode.

    The following queries are against the AP high availability (no SSO failover or controller HA), which means that if a controller fails, the AP will be failover to the secondary controller that is in a different location than Geo. the AP will be to connect Flex with local switching and local authorization mode: in this scenario, here are my questions

    1: if I have a SSID that has a set of interfaces that are connected to him, can I switch it on the other controller where there may be a single WLAN connected. ?

    2:do, we need to subnet masks to match both ends?

    3: if I have a SSID with open authentication, can I configure the SSID of the remote network without authentication?

    4: can someone link me to the top with a document that explains the configuration of the case study of the flex-connect mode fail on scenarios.

    Any help given would be really appreciated.

    Thank you.

    1: if I have a SSID that has a set of interfaces that are connected to him, can I switch it on the other controller where there may be a single WLAN connected. ?

    The groups interface works only for centrally switch not locally

    2:do, we need to subnet masks to match both ends?

    See #1

    3: if I have a SSID with open authentication, can I configure the SSID of the remote network without authentication?

    If you configure an SSID with open authentication, then the all having APs SSID assigned to it will use.  Open authentication is identical to no authentication.

    4: can someone link me to the top with a document that explains the configuration of the case study of the flex-connect mode fail on scenarios.

    Do a search on Google for 'FlexConnect deployment guide It will have links to failover.

  • Postgrase vRA distributed deployment Configuration

    Hello

    We provide deployment distributed for vRA 6.2.2 and have question around the Postgres SQL Server implementation. Documentation talking about DB server between vRA device cluster. Does vRA mandatory distributed deployment requires vPostgres in cluster or can I separate a single instance of Postgres and post the two HRV to the same device.

    We do not want cluster DB server unless it is mandatory for the vRA.

    If only Postgres can meet the requirement, is there no specific configuration in DB let connect the two devices to HRV?

    Yes, you can use simple Postgres and works without any problem. And there is no specific requirement as such. He usually recommendation to have Postgres clustered for HA.
