Failover for the RV320 router configuration

Hello

I have a RV320 router with a WAN connection to the office LAN and USB 3 G modem for failover.

However the switch is malfunctioning.

When I unplugged the cable to WAN it works as expected, the 3 G modem take longer after a few seconds.

But when I have trouble with connection overseas, WAN is still in place and the router is not switch to the 3 G modem.

Is it possible to configure the router so that regularly ping a specific IP address, and if the ping command fails, he move to the 3G connection?

Thank you.

The parameter you need is under System Management > Dual WAN

- Select 1 WAN, then click on modify.

-Under Network Service detection, you can specify an internet host to act as the trigger for failover.

  • Failover for a distributed cache configuration

    Hello

For the configuration of our production, we will have 4 app servers a clone by each application server. so there are 4 clones to a cluster. And we will have virtual machines Java 2 for our distributed cache - being a failover, these two will be in the group.

How do I configure failover for the cache distributed?

    Thank you

Right - for each plans closely defined cache would need to have the card high-units back where it could take on 100% of the value data.

More precisely, the near-scheme/back-scheme/distributed-scheme/backing-map-scheme/local-scheme/high-units value (take a look at the [Configuration of Cache items | http://coherence.oracle.com/display/COH34UG/Cache+Configuration+Elements]).

    There are two options:

    (1) no expiration - in this case you would have to the size that active storage JVMs that a single JVM could store all the data.
    or
    (2) expiration - in this case you would define high a units value you choose. If you want to store all the data, then it must be set higher than the total number of objects that you will store in the cache at any given time or you can set it lower with the understanding that once top-units is achieved consistency will expel some data of the cluster (i.e. Remove "memory of cluster").

OK, data fault tolerance is enabled by default (set to a level of redundancy).

  • Possible security for the Web-based Configuration

My colleagues and I found something very interesting today... Despite having configured the FTP security settings (which have been confirmed to set up and in funcitoning. I can't open an FTP session to our remote target without specifying a username admin and the password) If you open the configuration tool based OR web in a browser, you can send via FTP to and from the target using the file remote browser without being connected to all! Everyone knows this?

Apparently, these permissions are separate from FTP, but you can define these special permissions on the page of the security configuration for the web-based configuration utility.

my site IP subnet is 10.10.100.0/24 and HO subnet is 10.1.0.0/24.   Please find attached Config and advice it will be OK and works fine

    Hello

    For me, it looks like it has configured the route correctly;

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 fastethernet4 -> for all traffic to the internet.

Road 10.1.0.0 ip 255.255.255.0 Dialer1 -> for vpn traffic to HO.

The public_IP_HO must be defined according to the map of encryption using the set by the peers command.

I want to add is on the isakmp policy hash attribute, you can choose between sha/md5 or whatever available on your device. Make sure that the isakmp policy to match political isakmp of your HO.

The other thing is the acl for the internet. You may want to consider replacing the deny statement if you want to deny traffic only to your jar currently it is said to deny all traffic 10.10.100.0 10.0.0.0 network, not to the 10.1.0.0 HO (network).

  • Consolidation and failover for the uplink on the Distributed switch port group

    Hello

I have a problem with the implementation of a distributed switch, and I don't know I'm missing something!

I have a few guests with 4 of each physical cards. On the host eash I configured 2 virtual switches (say A and B), with 2 physical network by vSwitch using etherchannel adapter. Everything works fine for etherchannel and route based on the hash of the IP for the latter.

Recently, I decided to create two distributed switches and move the respective physical ports of virtual switches to this distributed switches. Once again, I want to configure etherchannel and route based on the hash of the IP. But when I open the settings for the uplink port group, aggregation and failover policies are grayed out and cannot be changed. Apparently they inherit configuration also but I don't know where!

You must set the card NIC teaming policy on trade in reality and not on the uplink group more expected.

  • How to plan the failover for the following scenarios in Flex-connect mode.

The following queries are against the AP high availability (no SSO failover or controller HA), which means that if a controller fails, the AP will be failover to the secondary controller that is in a different location than Geo. the AP will be to connect Flex with local switching and local authorization mode: in this scenario, here are my questions

1: if I have a SSID that has a set of interfaces that are connected to him, can I switch it on the other controller where there may be a single WLAN connected. ?

2:do, we need to subnet masks to match both ends?

3: if I have a SSID with open authentication, can I configure the SSID of the remote network without authentication?

4: can someone link me to the top with a document that explains the configuration of the case study of the flex-connect mode fail on scenarios.

Any help given would be really appreciated.

    Thank you.

1: if I have a SSID that has a set of interfaces that are connected to him, can I switch it on the other controller where there may be a single WLAN connected. ?

The groups interface works only for centrally switch not locally

2:do, we need to subnet masks to match both ends?

    See #1

3: if I have a SSID with open authentication, can I configure the SSID of the remote network without authentication?

If you configure an SSID with open authentication, then the all having APs SSID assigned to it will use.  Open authentication is identical to no authentication.

4: can someone link me to the top with a document that explains the configuration of the case study of the flex-connect mode fail on scenarios.

Do a search on Google for 'FlexConnect deployment guide It will have links to failover.

The E1000 router is equipped with a default security setting when installing using the supplied CD?

When you install the E1000 router using the CD, it will create a secure for you wireless network. Also if you install the router successfully using the CD, it will also create a network of comments for you.

The main network will be secured automatically using WPA/WPA2 mixed mode security.

After the installation of your router using Cisco connect, go into settings of the router. You will find the name and the password of your wireless network.

I was able to push wrong that this problem still today. API calls to register with the PSC, where never making it out of the appliance of vRO. It was the tool of eggs during the deployment does not meet the /etc/resolve.conf virtual machine file. Once I edited the file and add an entry for server names manually, I was able to configure the authentication provider. It is interesting because all other configurations of the virtual machine network properly taken into account by the deployment tool. Once I get some free time I'll deploy another vm and take a look and see if the same problem arises.

  • Next hop for the static route on the VPN site to site ASA?

    Hi all

I would be grateful if someone could help me with my problem ASA/misunderstanding. I have a VPN site-to site on a SAA. I want to add a floating static route to point to the VPN on the ASA. Note that the traffic in this way is not with in subnets cryptographic ACL that is used to bring up the VPN. This VPN is used only as a backup.

The static route with the next hop add local public address or the remote public address of the VPN? The next break maybe local ASA isp internet facing interface? I intend to do on the ASDM. I'm sorry if it's a simple question but I found no material that explains this?

    Concerning

    Ahh, ok, makes sense.

The next hop should be the next jump to the interface that ends the VPN connection, essentially the same as your Internet connection / outside the next hop interface.

    Example of topology:

    Site B (outside interface - 1.1.1.1) - (next hop: 1.1.1.2) Internet

    The static route must tell:

    outdoor 10.2.2.2 255.255.255.255 1.1.1.2 200

    I hope this helps.

  • Suggested for the RAID level configuration

    Hallo,

I have a server 4core, 16 GB of RAM and 4 SAS 140 GB discks whith fiber channel EMC SAN. What is RAID level suggested for reduncancy and performance?

RAID 1 + (a single disc advanced to other uses)

RAID 10 (is really necessary for an ESX configuration?)

    others

RAID 5 (suggested for VMFS, but not for a simple configuration, ESX)

RAID 6 (not suggested because that too slow)

    Thank you

As for local storage (as opposed to the EMC SAN) I'd go with RAID 1 + 0 for optimal performance. If you have an EMC SAN you probably store most of your VMs on the San. Your local storage space will be for your ESX installation and perhaps a data store for testing. Thus, you do not want to go with a RAID that offered high performance and redundancy, even if she does a high-cost disk, because the size is not you primarily on local storage.

As for your EMC (Clariion AX regardless), you will want to cut LUN based on the needs of performance of your virtual machines.

LUN RAID 5 for your regular VMS

LUN RAID 1 + 0 for SQL (Oracle or Microsoft SQL SERVER) or machines virtual Exchange

Just my two cents on the views of storage vary, and the right answer for you depends on your environment.

  • Engine for the mobility Service configuration

    Hi all

I try to incorporate a MSE 3350 to an existing Toilet, and I run through questions that I can't understand.  Basically, I went through the initial installation of the MSE and assigned an IP address in the same network the WLCs I installed... it is also connected to the same switch that the WLCs are as well... I don't know how the port must be configured, but I tried to define an access port as a trunk port and I am not yet able to ping or see if I'm doing a cdp neighbor cmd on the switch.

I looked at the configuration several times and it says that the service is running and intellectual property, SM and GW are all correct so I don't know what else I can check this get up and work.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated... I tried to look at all the config and design guides, but they tell you mostly what to do once you get the MSE integrated with the WCS.

    Thanks in advance!

    Martin

The Switch port must be an access port.  Are sure you you have your cables connected to the port correct eth on the MSE?  In my view, there are two, but only one is used.

  • How can you add more options of basic research for the Service Profile Configuration Directory profile

In the CUCM, under Service Profile Configuration.  I created a service profile.  In the profile directory section, I can only have 3 Research Bases.  I have 6 domains I have to link them.  They are in a forest.  How can I extend the search to users?

It is with regard to the Jabber Clients.  I can't find the users in the second research base.

IN the LDAP authentication, it allows only 2 additional redundant LDAP servers.  Why not add each of them?
