Failure of KB974431 update with 8007000D on a clean install of Win7 Pro 64-bit

Hi all

I just finished a clean install of Win7 pro 64 bit and everything looks on with the activated product key.  I'm applying 50 some important updated via update, but I have one that fails each time, KB974431.

According to this thread: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/thread/27737d55-9c10-44b5-b701-6ba147c78364, another person having this problem had luck manually download and install the update.  But it did not work for me (I created a new thread because his son was in the installation forum).

KB94431 was also causing problems for people who concoct a C004F050 error as in this thread:http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/thread/ff57f326-0f1d-412c-a4d0-14de1eaf0836/ although I didn't have this error, I tried running sfc/SCANNOW and he did report that he "finds corrupted files but could not solve some of them."  I don't really know what I should look for in the CBS.  By suggestion of the thread, I installed 64-bit Windows Update Agent and Windows Update is represented nothing doesn't.

I think I have a corrupted file update is already downloaded that Windows is trying to use each time and it fails.   They seem to live in files Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and Windows\Servicing\Packages.  Although I can change the permissions to delete the file in Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download (and I've tried it without change of failure), access is denied whenever I try to touch the Windows\Servicing\Packages or its content.

The only installed software were the latest EVGA nforce and drivers for video card, Norton Security Suite and the SoundBlaster last for my sound card driver.

Any suggestions?

OK, start at the stop of the snap-snap-in services.msc WindowsUpdate service and rename the folder C: \Windows\SoftwareDistribution\ to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution_old\ restart the service. Now look again for updates. You are now able to install.

  • A clean installation of Win7 Pro 64 Bit OS SP1 maintains the search for updates. (Error 0 x 80070005 windows update)

Hi, I recently formatted my HD and clean installed with an older version of Win7 Pro SP1 x 64 OS, I more than a week now looking online for help, but nothing is. Windows Update appears to hang "search for updates". I don't presume that my Pc is virus free because of a clean install, so I'm not sure that Microsoft stopped providing updates for older versions of windows or not. I also tried to upgrade to OS 64-bit win10 everything works fine with the installation until it reaches "search for updates" which also hangs and does not download updates, I tried Microsoft stand-alone install also but who doesn't either. I also tried running "Microsoft Genuine Diagnostics Tool" results are lower. I also tried to reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on the Microsoft Web site and found a windows "0x80070005" error code also known as "access denied." Something to do with registry permissions I think. A boot minimum, then run the Microsoft fixit would fix the issue im having with windows update.

  • I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 - bit (Home Premium update) and I want to re - install Windows but in 64-bit. Will I still have Ultimate

I have a Toshiba with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 - bit (Home Premium update) and I want to re - install Windows but in 64-bit. Will I still have Ultimate?

I'm going to re - install from 32 to 64-bit via the loader of windows recovery.
This computer has asked ma to install 32 or 64 bit when I first turned on, I chose 32, but now I want to 64.

It depends on. Is the license of Windows 7 Ultimate, a full version license or upgrade, or upgrade Express?

If its an Express upgrade license, you will need to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, then make the Express Windows 7 upgrade Ultimate edition using the Express upgrade key, you have.

If you have a Windows 7 Ultimate full retail or upgrade version license, you can simply by using the 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate disc and do a custom Setup on the current installation of 32-bit.

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/07/using-Windows-easy-transfer-in-Windows-7/

Boot from the DVD 64 bit Windows 7
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

Or they are corrupt, try to get a new copy and try again.

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

  • Windows update fails to Downlaod after clean install

    Hello

Im having problem installing windows update after clean install (although it happned to me after GHOST as well)
On my new computer, I have 2 updates of isnatll 1:
    (1) Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)
    (2) update for Windows XP (KB898461)

When I try to install them by using "Windows Update" or "Microsoft update" I get the following error code: Error Code: 0 x 80246002

    someone meet souch problem?
When google for a solution based on this error code I found nothing.

Thank you very much for your help,
    see you soon

What were the problems you saw that you thought a "clean install" of Windows XP could solve?

This "clean install" included formatting the HARD drive?

The "clean install" left you with WinXP WinXP SP1, WinXP SP2 or WinXP SP3 gold (no Service Pack)?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a test free version comes preinstalled when you buy it and that would have been reinstalled, but invalid, when you did the clean install)?

You receive an error code "0 x 80246002" when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites to install updates:

  • After doing a clean install of XP Pro, I can't update Service Pack or Internet Explorer

no windows update support more is possible to install 2 and 3 and put sp1 at internet level exp.6 at 7 and 8, I can't do help

Original title: I installed the new copy of xp pro. Update cant that anything is itt later to install the pks service. or upgrade

no windows update support more is possible to install 2 and 3 and put sp1 at internet level exp.6 at 7 and 8, I can't do help

First - a tip - get hardware drivers with hardware manufacturers - not Microsoft.

Get SP2 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]

    Install it.

Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.

Get SP3 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]

    Install it.

Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.

Download at least Internet Explorer 7 (if it is not Internet Explorer 8).

    Install it.

    Reset.

Now, try to get the updates through the normal web page (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) and see how much more you can get (100 +) and keep checking until you no longer have.

  • Unable to connect to the internet with my Compaq Presario CQ5500F after a clean install of Win 7 64 bit

    Hello

I recently did a clean install on my Compaq Presario CQ5500F desktop, but when I finished, I realized that I could not connect to wireless internet almost anything. To clarify, my internet worked before the clean install. I know exactly of what readers have been installed, but I do not know the network controller has a yellow question mark on it now. (See attached image)

In addition, it seems that the computer does not have a wireless card although I was previously using an omnidirectional antenna external wireless connected to my wifi.

I have already visited the HP/Compaq site here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=4209... to install the drivers, but it seems that the network controller, it does not install correctly.

Can someone help me please? I am very frustrated.

In fact, I just solved it!

I looked up the material ID I had just posted on Google and found that someone had the driver on his Skydrivefiles. Then I followed their instructions and went into the Device Manager and selected Update driver the driver of your properties of network adapters tab and pointed on the expanded files.

Turns out I need files for Ralink RT61 Turbo Wireless LAN Card.

    Everything works again!

Thanks for me direction in the right way, Paul!

I hope that someone else has acquired this too!

  • Install Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with UEFI mode

Hello world! So I'm here to talk about the installation of Windows 7 for the UEFI mode and I know a lot of people said it stucks on "Starting Windows" during installation, but I have a few question that my opinion:

    1. If a hard disk has come to Windows 8/8.1 with OEM or retail as installed, it should disable Secure Boot?

    2. If Windows 7 it remains stuck, the solution most is all in a hard drive format after Windows 8/8.1 backup partition and install Windows 7 with UEFI without getting stuck? I need to install it with TPG...

    Hope will understand. ;-)

Secure boot is integrated in the firmware, not the installation hard disk.

You can just boot from the installation media and format the hard drive.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

  • problem to get internet with SIM card on the probook 6550 b win7 pro 64-bit

    Hello.

I'm trying to connect to the internet with a SIM card on my Probook 6550 b with win 7 Pro - 64 bit

I tried an external USB (called Globesurfer icon) device that works on computers running XP, but I can't make it work on mine.

I tried to put the SIM card directly into the location corresponding to the battery. Nothing happens when I start the computer, and there is only two options in the wizard wireless (WLAN and Bluetooth)

I tried to download and install a file (called sp53068) on the HP support site which was supposed to install the drivers for internet cell phone. It is a DOS window, and he said a sentence. Then it just closes.
I also tried to install all the application files that extracts of the sp53068 in c:\swsetup\SP53068, but they have the habit of work.

Please help me with this problem. Right now this is my only option to connect to the internet from my laptop.

In advance, thank you for any help.

Hello. I just wanted to say that the "mystery" is solved. Simply the USB device doesn't work because it only supports cooperative systems up to Win7 32 bit and no further details. I have 64-bit, so it's a 'no-go '. Thanks for you time.

  • GTC trusted source recon - failure of the update with the Login Id duplicate

I've seen a few similar posts on this topic but cannot get to the bottom of the problem...

I do a recon reliable source using an RCT of a simple CSV file. Creates the job perfectly without error.

If I can raise wth exactly the same entry then, according to the docs, it must conduct an update and change nothing, but I get the following:

ERROR, 28 January 2010 16:22:05, 380, [XELLERATE. SERVER], class/method: tcUSR/verifyUserLogin error: User Loginid is doubled.
ERROR, 28 January 2010 16:22:05, 411, [XELLERATE. SERVER], class/method: tcUSR/eventPreInsert error: user login is not correct.

There is no mention in the doc of the need to manually configure recon so few rules, I'm stumped on this.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bernie

  • Updates security 2/2011,37 for my win xp pro 64-bit os had already downloaded and 20 failed. How this issue is resolved?

Since February, 2011, there have been 37 security updates and only 17 have downloaded and installed properly. Some of my applications require net framework 1 for working with these aqpps. I have installed net framework 2 and higher.

I didn't know so many updates failed until I recently saw my history of security update.

    Here are the updates by starting earlier - KB951847 failure 02/02/2011, KB983583 failed on 03/02/2011 KB983583 failed 06/02/2011, KB2483185 has no 25/03/2011, KB2479628 failure 25/03/2011, KB2478960 has 25/03/2011, KB2482017 failure 25/03/2011, KB2393802 25/03/2011 failure KB971029 failure 25/03/2011, KB890830 failure 25/03/2011 KB2481109 25/03/2011 failure, KB2483185 failed on 12/04/2011, KB2479628 failed on 12/04/2011, KB2482017 failed on 12/04/2011, KB2393802 failed on 12/04/2011, KB971029 failed on 12/04/2011, KB890830 has failed 12/04/2011, KB2481109 has failed 12 / 04 / 2011, KB890830 has failed to 18/04/2011 and KB2506212 does not 4/18/2011.Were these default updates because net framework 1 has never been installed? What needs to be done to correct this and in what order.

Thanks in advance for any help.
