Fallout 3 / Windows 7

HI, I just bought Fallout 3 for windows 7, why it won't work? I changed the compatibility to Windows Vista and XP, uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but whenever I start the game it is said that Fallout 3 has stopped working windows is to find a solution to the problem.

Hello

That check for errors in Event Viewer about the game Crash?

Open event viewer

What are the information contained in the logs of the event (Event Viewer)?

As I see that Fallout 3 is not compatible with Windows 7, click here to check the compatibility. Try to install in Vista or XP compatibility mode and then try to run the game.

Try this step as well I hope this could help you.

1. start Fallout via the FalloutLauncher.exe

2. go to Options.

3. click on advanced.

4. replace the water section.

5. the full value of the low water.

Also make sure you have all drivers up to date.

Update a hardware driver that is not working properly.

If none of the above steps help, then you may contact the game manufacturer and see if they have new patches released for Windows 7.

Kind regards
Clement Kumar.

  • Freezing Fallout 3 with Windows 7 (64-bit).

    Hello, I have

just bought a new laptop (Lenovo T510) and I want to play Fallout 3 on it. I went through the installation, everything worked fine. But whenever I try to start a new game the intro video, but when it gets to the part where I choose if I want to be a boy or a girl it freezes. I searched around and some different forums and couldn't find someone else with the same problem as me.

I looked at the specs and my computer does not meet the requirements.

    My laptops features are:

    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
    Core i5 2.66 GHz (dual-core)
    nVidia NVS 3100 512 MB
    4 GB OF RAM
    HARD DRIVE 320 GB

I don't know if it's because I have windows 7 or maybe because I have a 64 bit system or perhaps another reason.
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps, salvation will continue to try to find a solution on my own as well.

  • Compadability issues with fallout 3 and windows 7

    I already tried to go under XP, XP SP2 & 3, Vista, Vista SP1 & 2

    I run it on a laptop with intel core i5 4 x 3GB of ram and geforce gt 520 m, 330 m 1 GB vram
It worked fine on my old computer laptop amd turion 2 x 4 GB ram ati 3200 m 256 MB vram
It will work fine on full setting up until I get to where I select my _ while it freezes
I also tried on minimum settings (set to low temperature preferably windowed 800 x 450) and it always fails at the same place
My drivers are as up-to-date as possible (nvidia didn't even pilots from the 300 series to the top yet) and I had the cpu running task manager was used only 23% and total of 1.4 GB of ram and video card gets warm barely im wondering if it could be a problem of compadability with the new 300 series?

I solved the problem I am running a core i5 520 m and geforce gt 330 m on a toshiba satellite p500-st6844 and it came out of the box with hyper threading enabled (the problem) fallout 3 would not run after a lapse of time or a change of scene sertai, I checked the permissions I even ran it under admin account I've updated to the latest version with a supposed windows 7 total compadability fix made sure I had the last ditectx taken care of by my gfx card, I also made, I got the latest nvidia drivers (nvidia still has not all drivers update for the Witch of the 300 series only makes no sense, because they have the same hardware/software as the 200 series) I finally decided to turn off hyperthreading to see if that had nothing to do with it and I seriously doubt that but to my surprise she has a great even better than my office upstairs with a 8800 gtx, so if you have a gambling problem where the game starts well but crashes after a short period of time or during a change of scene and you have active hyperthreading, that might be your problem

  • Windows 7 does not recognize Fallout 3 DVD - can not browse or run the Launcher

I have a version of Fallout 3, I could make it work fine on my Vista system. Now I have Windows 7 on a new machine and went for a new installation. The CPU does not seem to recognize the contents of the drive - unable to sail on him, does nothing when it is inserted into the DVD player. Ask me to format the drive if I drive to "run" then "D:\setup.exe".

    How can I fix it?

I've upated Windows Live, but don't think that is the question.

It is a problem with your DVD player drivers more than probable. I try to download the drivers or the latest firmware from the site of the manufacturer of your computer and see if that helps.

  • Fallout 3 PC is playable on Windows 7 in compatibility mode?

The Windows 7 Compatibility Center lists Fallout 3 as being incompatible with Windows 7. It will not work in vanilla Windows 7 or Windows 7 even with the compatibility mode Vista/XP on what it means?

    Bingiton,
If you haven't already done so, then browse the thread that Hordie posted.  It doesn't have a lot of discussion on FO3 getting to work on Windows 7.  Officially since the Bethesda site, FO3 is not listed as compatible with Windows 7, but there are many people who work on Windows 7.  You can also check this thread.

  • Could not access Console in Fallout 3 in Windows Vista... How to disable MIRC?

I bought the game Fallout 3 a few weeks ago and has recently wanted to access the game console command line, but the game does not recognize the support of the tilde (~) key.  I spent many hours trying to figure out why this is the case, and I got three main answers:

    1. change the size of the screen that you can 'see' the console command line.  The size of my screen was already the right size, and it has not resolved the question of 'recognition of tilde.

    2. find Fallout Notepad, locate the line AllowConsole = x (where x represents a number any) and change x 1.  I found the notebook and the line, but the value was already "AllowConsole = 1".  I changed the number 0 and then back to 1, to see if that would be 'reset', but still no use of the tilde in the game key.

3 turn off the infrared remote Microsoft (MIRC) in the eHome folder.  It is the recommendation given to me by the works of Bethesda, the company that produced of Fallout 3.  However, when I asked what particular file searching (there nothing specifically named "infrared" whatever it is, nor do any application with a name sounding similar open when I clicked it), I was given the same two paragraphs already listed on the site Web of Bethesda, if there is no progress.

My question is this; How find/disable the MIRC involved with the Windows Media Center/eHome?  OR... there at - it another method to allow recognition of the tilde key (~) so that in games like Fallout 3?  Because he was such a topic posted on other forums by users of Vista (on laptops, for the most part), I hope there are a few out there who have faced this problem before, and have a solution.  I run with a laptop Asus M51 series with Windows Vista, if that helps at all.  Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello YoungSolshee,

In addition to what Jack said, when you press the tilde key, you hold the SHIFT key also.  Most of the time that the cheat console will not work unless you enter in the ~ symbol and not only hit / press.

Please let us know how it works for you. Zack

  • I need to stop windows to install the IR Transmitter/Receiver when I reboot so I can use the console for Fallout New Vegas

To use the console or a cheat mode on Fallout New Vegas, I need to uninstall my infrared transceiver. When I do that, I have to restart the computer for the changes to take effect. Once I reboot, windows pops up a window saying that it has installed new drivers. Happens if fast, I can not open the game before the pilot completed the installation. Help!

    Hello

If you want the windows do not install the infrared transmitter when Windows restarts you can remove the connection of the transceiver to the computer or try to disable it in Device Manager. You may consult:

    (a) open Manager devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click System and security, and then, under system, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    (b) search for the device transmitter/receiver IR, right click on the device and turn off.

For more information about the game, I suggest you to contact game provider support site.
  • Windows 7 Fallout 3 crash on startup, I tried patch, fix xlive.dll, ffdshow does nothing

My laptop should be a system good enough to run Fallout 3.
    Windows 7
    Core i3
    4 x 32/64 GB ram
    smartaudio cocoa 2
    Intel hd graphics card

I downloaded the patch on the site of Fallout, then got error xlive.dll, downloaded the patch to correct that, following the crash at startup, sought ffdshow could not find, when I found it in the registry allowing or disable it has nothing to do with the port of gameplay or fallout, read also this is another solution that does not work - particularly for windows users 7.  Tried running Vista and XP, I'm set to run everything as admin, none of this works _.  I bought this game in detail, since when a game doesn't?  AND when I paid full price for it?  It's stupid _.  Is it the graphics card - I do not think?  Please help, I don't play much games, was really looking forward to try this one.  But I guess that things are not only made the way they used to... to work.

    Hi litleredpoetess

I suggest you to check with the manufacturer about compatibility with Windows 7.

You can even check the compatibility of the link below: Windows Compatibility Center: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

Try to install the configuration file in Windows Vista or in XP compatibility mode. Steps to follow:

    i. right click on the game (on the .exe file)

    II. click on properties

III. click on the Compatibility tab

IV. Select run this program in compatibility mode and select windows vista

Link for reference below: make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If the program or the software is not compatible with windows 7 and if you are not able to run the software in compatibility mode then you should contact the manufacturer of the software or program, as there is no upgrade or patch for Windows 7.

  • I have problems on windows 7 64 bit of fallout 3 Please help me

Fallout 3 for windows 7, I bought some time ago and before that I could play, but now it crashes when I try to start a new game someone please help me

What are your system specs? FO3 will run on Win7 with compatibility for spe SP or sp1 for Vista.
There are also one couple of other fixes not related to Win7.

    (1) the game has a problem with the quad-core processors
Open the fallout.ini file in My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 (make a copy first to backup)
    Find the line:
bUseThreadedAI = 0 (open the ini with Notepad file - click on Edit - can find - copy this line and paste it into the find what box)
    her take: bUseThreadedAI = 1
-Add another line (press ENTER on keyboard) after him and insert: (copy and paste the following line)
    iNumHWThreads = 2
-This limit the set for 2 hearts and prevent the engine bug to cause the game to freeze.
    (2) download and install Windows 7 Codec Pack - this will fix a problem with ffdshow codec.
    http://www.windows7codecs.com/
    (3) install the latest drivers for you graphics card and audio of the mfg web site.
    (4) updated Direct X with the installer of X Web live - should be done even if there is no problem with Direct X with FO3.
    Download details: DirectX end-user performance

    (5) install all the Windows Update 'important', but don't forget to setup as Windows updates in order to not
install "optional" without you updates by selecting, in particular drivers graphics.

  • Impossible to play Fallout 3 on Windows 8-42 Ordinal not found in xlive.dll

Hello, I just bought the Double Pack Oblivion and Fallout 3 and I'm launching Fallout 3 on Windows 8.  I installed it, but when I click on 'play' I get an error message stating "the 42 ordinal not found in the C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\xlive.dll dynamic link library.   Now, I tried to make it work for almost 3 hours now.  I have studied this problem on the internet, which suggests that I should download GFWL.  I tried.  I ran the installer, but I have another error code: 0x800b0003.  Help, please. :(

You need to reinstall windows live, that the game is optimized for it.  You can download and install here, ignore the prompt of compatibility. You can run Fallout 3 mode compatibility windows 7 as well.

  • Problems of game Fallout 3 in Windows 8.

    Original title: Fallout 3

The URL below supposedly provides a solution to the problems of Fallout 3 game in Windows 7 and later versions. FOR INFO.

As seen here and in the Steam games store, Fallout 3 does not work in Windows 7 and later versions. Many would like to play this game and buy it due to the recent release of Fallout 4. Steam is full of comments which States that the game does not work. I have a copy of the disc, and it does not work.

He said that the Bethesda developers do not fix the game. But Microsoft would provide a way to get the game to work? A question is the Games for Windows Live: I downloaded and installed, but it does not work.

The solution claimed in the URL below modifies / inject DLL of DirectX (only), making suggestion that DirectX can only be blamed.

    http://www.nexusmods.com/Fallout3/mods/20371

Microsoft provide DirectX injector/configure layers because the injectors are very popular these days? I hope that the DirectX developers investigate these issues for a broader solution more.

    Hello

This seems to be a compatibility issue with the game and the operating system, you can try to run the game in compatibility mode.

Install the game in compatibility mode and check.

    2. Click on Properties.
