I've been scammed before, I'm embarrassed to say, and I know that Cardinal rule number one of the Internet is never buy or sign up for all that has been done to you, rather than you start looking for the product. I received a phone call this morning from an outfit in area code 213, (even if ALI read 131 as Captain) saying that I had been hacked and needed to fix my network. I was directed to open Terminal on my MacBook which I could see a list of IP addresses, preceded by the prefix tcp3 and under the heading < State > reading connected or something like that after each of them. The representative on the phone worked with me for a couple of hours as it solved the (apparent) problem while in control of my computer, and in the end offered firmware that would prevent further attacks to succeed, so that provides protection against viruses, etc.. Company URL fastsupportec.com, which is also his name. Is it normal for a third person monitor network traffic on the individual computer at random (although the representative said that I was getting this service because of some other security protection that I already had) and inform them of hacking related parties? I should add that the rep was very polite and knew my details. A I really screw up, once again? Thank you and please, be gentle.

# It is not normal for them to monitor network traffic. It is impossible for them to say what you do on your Mac.
I suggest at this stage, at a minimum, you change all your passwords, call your Bank and tell them that you have been victim of a scam and need to have new credit cards issued.

802.11r is available only on AP which is attached to the WLC. WGB does not support and does not connect to a WLAN with 802.11r active.

Video stuttering on Satellite P100
Hello..
I had a Satellite P100-347 (PSPA6E), with the center of the media as the Windows XP Home edition operating system. Whenever I want to watch a DVD with media player, real player, media center or WinDVD video is stuttering and the video and audio are not working well.
If I want to use the fast support (stop, pressing the button quick media, it does not start windows, it will start the media section) then the screen freezes for a few seconds after the start of the DVD. I have to hold the power button until the laptop turns off.
Any suggestions please.

have you ever tried to install a codecpack like K-lite codecpack which is free and contains all the need of codecs to watch movies any format (Divx, Xvid, DVD, etc...)
If not, try (http://k-lite-codec-pack.softonic.de/) and by the way: update your display drivers, if it isn't already. It sometimes... really helps. :)

Cannot install Windows 8 on my new Ultrabook. Get the error message " error has occurred during Installation, the system will be restarted" to try to update via the installer under Windows
I tried to burn the ISO on a USB media (cause obviously Envy6 isn't a DVD player) and I tried to make the day & clean installation, making who has not worked or the other. I've got zero of the partitions on the disk selection window and could not find storage error message drivers.
I tried to download various packages on the site of HP support for storage/disk hard/that it is, extracted for the key in separate folder, but still Windows has not found something there.

The key issue is a key - USB loading in UEFI mode (right?). In which Windows could not do anything. I pressed F9 at startup and selected USB Drive Legacy (or sth like this) and everything worked like a charm.

Elan Touchpad problem, after Windows 8.1 unsuccessfully
I recently updated to Windows 8.1 and noticed that my features Elan Touchpad not working at startup and the dynamic icon was missing from the toolbar. I went into the settings 'mouse' in the control panel and noticed that the driver was still charged. More interesting still, after hitting OK, the dynamic icon appears and gestures worked.
Of course, I tried to update the drivers of the momentum, but after that, I noticed that the gestures were different, and specifically, missing four fingers gestures to switch in between the desktop and the start menu. For this reason, I uninstalled the driver and tried to return to the old with four finger gestures. Any time I tried to install the older driver, however, installation would break and the system would be self-repairing return to the former State of Windows where the characteristics of momentum Touchapd was missing until I loaded the menu of the mouse and click OK.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem, in addition to placing a shortcut on the desktop to make it easier to load the menu 'mouse' in the control panel? Is there another available driver where to work the four finger gestures?

-In the Device Manager, under "mice and other pointing devices, right click on" Port of PS/2 ELAN Smart-Pad "choose uninstall. Dialogue in the "confirm device uninstall", box ticked the ' remove the software driver for this device "and press OK. Restart the laptop.
-Unzip TouchPad_ELANTECH_11.6.4.001_W7x64_A
-Launch the Setup.exe in TouchPad_Elantech_11.6.4.001_W8x86x64 (which is in TouchPad_ELANTECH_11.6.4.001_W7x64_A)
-Restart.
The momentum (dynamic) pointing device icon appears in the system tray as it did before you update windows 8.1.

Huawei sd usb storage
Applies to: Windows | Windows Vista | Hardware and driversA month before, I let a co-worker install a modem Wireless USB as Huawei to use my laptop somewhere without wifi service. Subsequently, I uninstalled the software drivers because I don't think I'll ever use this modem again.
Now, I noticed that there are several registry keys for different devices of e/s as:
Huawei_sd_storage_usb
and
Huawei_some other drive typeNone of these registry keys can be deleted, I get an error saying that "year error occurred during an attempt to delete the key. Same thing if I try to write data in the registry key. This behavior resembles a persistent virus and not a register legitimate supporting a legitimate PnP device.
I then rebooted in safe MODE, thinking which should pick up anything the malware is hung. No go, same thing, cannot remove the key and cannot modify the data in the key.
None of the malware scanners were able to detect this, including:
Paid last AVG
Windows Defender
Microsoft Security Essential
Spybot S & D latest
Malware Microsoft FixitI don't trust Huawei, and what look like these keys are to monitor my laptops I/O activities through any player or the USB port.

Note, however, that you have an overload of running security software and some should be deleted. If you use Microsoft Security Essentials, you must disable Windows Defender in Vista and AVG should be removed, preferably using the AVG removal tool. I have no idea what is the Microsoft Malware Fixit.
You should never have more than one security product installed on the PC, providing active protection / scan. This can cause performance problems, system instability and may adversely affect the effectiveness of these two products to provide protection.

The scam reported in the 2012 forum is still ongoing. I get 4-5 a week phone calls telling me to go to the event viewer and look at things, and then type a random URL in my box of Run. The first time I started to follow their directions, and, noting that it was a scam, I reset my computer. But it has happened since then.
In addition to my name, number, personal information, Dell serial number, express service code, and date of purchase, this guy could tell me as MY HISTORY of COMPLAINT. He could tell me the questions I had when I had specifically called Dell in the past.
This is ridiculous. The calls come from lots of different numbers to all sites. Worse still, they often come now a hidden private number!
I was already too disappointed by the Dell customer service as they failed to repeatedly fix the problem of my computer, and then for the last 9 months I have received these scam calls.
Needless to say, I don't see purchases from Dell in my future. In fact, I enjoy to tell every person I can how horrible my experience was.

I have a problem with connecting through Secure Gateway.
The following error occurs when access to the content environment using Secure Gateway
-L' environment manages 2 servers Secure Gateway (load balanced using Fortigate)
-Secure gateway servers are configured to run Connection Broker and RDP using the same IP address
-Its configured to use an ssl wildcard certificate
I cannot pntsc use with success (from the outside) and retrieve the office setting (on Secure Gateway).
The client is configured as below (same FULL domain name is used that matched the wildcard cert)
