FAT32 library corrupted

Hi, pretty catastrophic issue here with my iPhoto and photo library.

Having had both my iPhoto and photo library stored on an external hard drive (since I'm on a 120 GB MacBook Air) to save space. Everything worked fine until recently.

Currently, all my pictures and videos bar as it is impossible to find the most recent import (s) - photo shows only the thumbnail of them.

The Master of the record, all these images and videos are of zero byte. The photo library also said 55GO (the total size of the photo library), but when trying to copy to a new position, only 9,77 GB is copied and also takes three to four times the rate of the normal copy. NB: 9,77 GB is the total of images and videos of the import (s) most recent are still correct.

The only mistake that I can't seem to remember is that I moved my iPhotos and photo of a FAT32 formatted partition on my hard drive external library. Imports I've done since located it on a drive to FAT32 format are the only ones not corrupt, all the previous pictures and videos are the affected.

Ive tried all repair and reconstruction of the library, but in vain...

When you view the images corrupt and videos in the library of Photos, they do not load. However video thumbnails always indicate the length of the videos, and when I right click on-> get info-> the file indicates this is the original size that is 66 MB. However, in the record master, right click-> get info on any corrupted photo or video - size indicates zero byte.

Since I have my library iPhotos and photos on an external hard drive, I have no backup Time Machine from them. I know it's a very stupid mistake to copy the library to FAT32, but I was not aware of the risks.

Any help, clarification of my question, etc. would be so so appreciated.

Thank you all.

Unfortunately, you have used a disk in the wrong format and will not work

If your library will not work and you have no backup (that's another really bad decision) then you have what you have - the bet you can make is to create a new library, Hold down the option key key by running Photos and create a new library) to a correct formatted drive (the pictures library must be on a volume formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) is directly related to a fast wired connection like USB, FireWire, or stroke, must always be available before photos being launched and cannot be used as a time Machine backup voume - and of course it needs to be backed up someway - Time Machine is a good way

Once yu have a library on a correct volume brake the low library to this volume, right-click and view the contents of packaging - copy the masters foder to the disk and their important pictures in the masters record for the new library

Hi Steve, this is certainly the WAV format that's your problem. WAV is generally very bad marking support: WMP only WAV files tags once wrote during extraction, and they is not editable later. For more information, see

    http://thewelltemperedcomputer.com/SW/WMP/wav.htm

There is no need to re - tear the relevant albums that you can only convert WAV files to another format using a tool like dBpoweramp. Recommended formats are MP3 or WMA Lossless if you do not want quality loss.

  • WMP 12 - music library on Windows Media Player questions

I see that many of them in the forum:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-pictures/how-do-i-stop-WMP-from-destroying-my-music-library/d4767d6b-BCFA-4AD0-b1ae-fe76a683cb4b

What is a good alternative to WMP for storage (cutting) and burning music (I like .wav or without loss, so what I have is as close as possible to what digital original CD quality). I use my PC as a failsafe to lose to say a fire all my CD do flow, but sometimes like to burn a CD for my taste with what's on WMP. And as for copy and paste my own choice of album art for a single copy of a song, or choose a different piece of album art for a CD, e.g. WMP also uses a generic image of "Blind Faith" from the album; I googled for the image of the 'Blind Faith' CD image gold OLA.

Bottom line is WMP either wants to stick his choice on what I choose, or finally the library seems to get corrupted. If I disable (uncheck) organize > Options > Library tab option: "Retrieve additional information for the Internet", WMP "sulking" and told me when I want to copy a CD again in the library (these are my own words, since I don't have a picture of the exact wording): «Can not help you get info for this rip of the CD to the library...» » !

It's as if WMP is said ' use what I want to see you, or your on your own boyfriend! "and then still too wants to write what he thinks I need. And the pop-up to the right click of "Find album Info" is about as useful for nothing - it's exactly, but cumbersome to change each song with info from the CD booklet.

You think after 20 years, there would be a way to do what the user wants to see, and then WMP could fill in the missing data.

Is there a free music, or even better cost store and burn the software product, which can take what I already have in my system Windows 7 WMP music folder, convert it with my album art to its library and give me more flexibility to store my music with the songs and album art I want, as well as all formats of music on there (or most popular as at least .wav .flac etc..)? At about 140 GB of music without loss on a disk as backup.

I'm old school and do not listen to music. I want my CD, with all the booklet (metadata not online) to manually but in a player, or make a CD to play with songs from my choice - what we used to call personal compilations on cassettes, cale-TI-in-your-hand - I heard laughter :) But there came a time records were all we had - and still my choice to use a physical product - not the cloud.

    Thank you, Grandpa

    Hi Jim...

I've read other reports here on the library constantly updated and also implement several entries, despite all the settings it seems to be correct. A poster has found that his update has disappeared when he took the photo library of wmp... I suspect that many library corruptions occur because not many people use wmp directly to view or manage their photos, so that the stuff gets moved around or changed in the library of the Explorer resulting in links to library wmp being broken.

Any questions on another multimedia player - another poster has been gratifying, and you seem to be happy about how to navigate between the rocks of the tp software so it might be worth - various links here...

    http://getmusicbee.com/help.html

Depending on how you have the music, another look review creates a new user account for your high quality music files. That's what I did. I keep all my music on an external hard drive hq to avoid cluttering up my internal HD..., and the music library links directly to that - not videos - no pictures other than a folder for album art. With wav files, we're pretty much stuck with the work that goes in when a cd is ripped, so I prefer to use wma lossless (my ageing ears cannot spot the difference!) allows me to control the metadata.

If I think of anything else I've seen on this topic, I'll post an update... A soon R.

  • Why my indesign crash when opening a shared library?

    Hello

In my work, we create the library files so that we can share images and assets between all members of the workshop. My boss recently made a library that blocks anyone outside its own machines. We all similar computers and the library is not too big (1, 309KB) for malfunctions. Other libraries (which are of larger size) open very well. All the images in the library are shared on our server, so there is no problem of link. Anyone know why it might be crashing?

    Thank you

    I have a Pavilion a4310f Prod Nr: race AY014AA-ABA, Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I just found out that Windows Media Player does not recognize the songs, I recently downloaded from Wal-Mart music download Site.  The songs can be seen in the music library in a folder called 'Downloads' and I can open each song and he will play when double-clicked.  The problem is that I can't create a playlist containing the new songs and burn a copy of the reading list, because the songs are not listed in the Media Library Player any hot it is sorted (artist, Album, Genre, etc.).

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Problem solved!

Went to: start == > Control Panel == > troubleshooting == > view all == > and ran troubleshooting on the library and the settings of WMP.

Convenience store detected library corrupt and "in media files appear in the WMP library.  Then ran convenience store on WMP settings which reset OMP to default settings.  After that, everything worked as announced.

Thanks to Big_Dave for putting me on the right track.

    Cybil,

You raise a good point... If something happened to the backup on your phone, you may lose some of your assets. Forty years is not too bad; It's handy to move say more than a week, just do a few per day.

But first I want to try something for me... I want you to share the library corrupt with me.

    Open the app

Open the library that is not synchronized

In the upper right corner of the screen, tap the selection icon (...)

Choose the share link to library

Send me this link to susang at adobe dot com.

  • Photo library becomes corrupted transferring to NTFS?

My iMac has been slow, so I decided to clear some memory.  I bought a Toshiba 1 TB hard drive, and the file format is NTFS.  I had to use the Tuxera NTFS converter to be able to copy files...  So I basically copied all my files on the hard disk without problem (including the photo library).  After that all copies were complete, I've completely cleaned of my hard drive and reinstalled Mac OS x iMac.  And my library of Photos on the hard drive.  When I tried to open the pictures library, that's when I realized that NTFS is not compatible for applications such as the library of Photos Mac...

My general question is photo library become corrupted when converted to NTFS?  All my photos are now on the NTFS hard drive, and I don't know if I'll be able to convert it to the Format HFS + Mac on my iMac drive... (Without losing my precious photos)?  Would the software (Tuxera) corrupt Library of Photos when converting to NTFS hard disk format?  I'll be able to convert in HFS + without problem?

    Yes

The photo library must only be on a volume formatted Mac OS extended (logged) - any other format does not work

You might or might not be able to copy it to the correct format - if you're lucky, it will work, but he can't - put the library on an inclrredcly format drive can corrupt permanently

as for support to Tuxera or other third party software, that you will need to contact their support team-, which means no pictures somehow

I have a large Aperture (430 GB) library, I keep several copies on different disks and Macs. Recently, I applied the operation "reprocess photos" to all my photos in order to take advantage of Apple's latest image processing technology. I had found applying this to a number of photos (versions actually) that there is no significant improvement.  I don't know if that had something to do with my later issue. I'm under El Capitan GM (Build 15F34) on my Mac Pro (mid-2012) with 32 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC, with four drives internal, all with a lot of unused space.

Have you tried to see the previews generation?  You can have an image corrupted in your Aperture library, which cannot be treated.

To test this, start opening everything and now the SHIFT key. This will stop the treatment to generate previews in the background.

Opening again, crash, when you start this way? If this is not the case, try to find the image that cannot be treated.

  • (Corrupt) 12.3 without updating iTunes library

Today when I opened my iTunes library it saids me that iTunes library was damaged and about 2500 titles and almost all of my missing playlist (it seems that iTunes uses a previous library of mine, like 6 months ago or not). I tried with the last iTunes Library.itl file in the 'previous iTunes library' folder, but given that I haven't had an update, I found the file most recent was December last year (and I have downloaded more than 1000 songs and made a lot of new reading list since then). See the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library. Is there the .tmp files in the iTunes folder? You have a Time Machine backup? It is quite easy to import new songs. It may be possible to recover playlists if they have been synchronized to a device.
