• Feature Transfer Error 1612

  Trying to install a new driver for a USB adapter wireless from a CD, the installation program stops with a message "feature transfer error:-1612 the installation source for this product is not available." Verify that the source exists and that access you. The reason that it is said that the source is not available, it's that his tent to read in the 'A' driving instead of the Conference on disarmament. I downloaded a new copy of the installer from the manufacturer of the adapter and it ran from the 'C' drive, but with the same result.   I finally got the installer to work. It was a relocation of an already corrupt driver. I made a backup of the complete registry and then used regedit to find and remove all the references I found to the previous file. I rebooted and ran the installer, and it worked.

• Error receipt-1639, I installed a program and a box popped up saying that I had a feature transfer error

  Specifically it read: error-1639 invalid command line argument. See the windows SDK install using the detailed command line. It was a box with a button that says ok.   1 did you change on your computer before this problem?

  You can try the following and see if it helps.

  Method 1

  I suggest you unregister and re-register Windows install and check if that helps.

  un) Click Start and the run.

  b) In the Run box type msiexec /unreg then ENTER.

  (c) click Start and the run.

  (d) in the run box type msiexec/regserver , then ENTER.

  Method 2

  un) Click start.

  b) in the search box type services.msc.

  c) locate Windows Installer.

  d) right click on it and go to Properties.

  e) in the Startup type , click the menu drop down and set as automatic.

  f) click apply and OK.

  (g) restart your computer.

  Method 3

  You can run the System File Checker to repair the corrupted system files.

• Cannot download BAR file for PlayBook. "Transfer error".

  I tried to download my file .bar for playbook for 3 days now, but I keep getting errors. My .bar file is 50 MB in size, I don't know if the size is causing this problem. I tried several browsers: IE, Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

  Ok. I put in a ticket and received a response from Blackberry that there is currently a problem with the download of large files.

  If the person supported offered Blackberry download my file for me and my game is finally approved and live on the PlayBook. Thanks to all for your responses.

  Blackberry support said they are working on fixing it so if someone runs into a problem of downloading a large file (don't know the size limits, my record was 50 MB) don't forget to put in a support ticket, so you don't waste a lot of time

• Simple transfer error - 'some of the files you transfer could be in use'

  Upgrade Windows 7 RC to the final version - since I'm on the Ultimate RC version, I had to do a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium.   Files transfer easy to recover after the upgrade.

  After completing the upgrade, I'm trying to transfer back, my files and I get the error above "some of the files you transfer could be used" and a list of files of 1802.   Some of them have not been consulted over the years, so it is obvious that the error is not correct.   I restarted and run again with the same results.   I selected a handful and tried to transfer them but they all failed again.   Any ideas?  Two questions:

  1. is there a way to know what is in each segment of the transfer - easy transfer created 9 files when I ran to create my backup - I wonder if it was bad.

  2. I have another set of easy transfer of files I've created about 3 weeks ago (intends to run the upgrade and have fun).   98% of records between the two are the same - is smart enough that if I ran the old game, he never again not all of the files that I have already recovered the easy transfer?

  Open the transfer Assistant, then browse through your files using the 'Advanced' options and transfer to 2 GB size limit or less.  It could be a tedious job, but it should work.
