Import IE favorites no matter all bookmarks
Using IE 8 and Firefox 14.0.1 on WIndows XP Pro. Import IE Favorites worked until the recent update for Firefox. Review of exact update which caused unknown problem.
1. delete the current folder of bookmarks into Firefox to reset any bookmarks to zero.
2 use history > history > import and backup > import data from another browser and follow dialogue to import all the bookmarks of the knowledge
3. instead of import all the bookmarks of knowledge, only some of the bookmarks are imported. In this case, all the files from A to E are imported and nothing above.
4. I have reproduced this problem on three different workstations running all XP Pro.
Workaround solution:
1. open for example and use export options to export bookmarks to a file: ex: bookmarks.htm
2. open Firefox and instead of import from another browser, import the HTML file created in the previous step.
3. all bookmarks to know now appear in FIrefox.
You have got it. This sometimes happens (example of the ongoing thread: only 1/3 of my bookmarks imported from IE.) How can I move the rest?). Could be linked to the number/depth records, but I'm not sure if someone has finally identified the cause.

Firefox 28A double of all bookmarks, a deletion removes the two
I have "Bookmarks Toolbar" and "Bookmarks Menu", all two twice registered in my side bar (which appears when you press 'Ctrl-b' and I can not remove duplicates, it removes both versions. I uninstalled and reinstalled FF and also tried to reset all settings in all: suppport.
I have Windows 7 and I have Add-ons are acrobat from adobe pro, roboform, tab mix plus, accuweather and adblock. Although the problem persisisted when all these add-ons have been disabled during the reset.
Hi all.
I had duplicates of records "Bookmarks Menu" and "Personal bar", with all the duplicated booksmarks under these. Here's what worked for me. (It is mostly a rehash of information from above, simplified.)
1.) disable sync on your desktop computer and phone
2.) save my favorites (view all bookmarks > import and backup > export bookmarks as HTML)
3.) remove all bookmarks under these folders. You will now be left with duplicate records, that I mentioned above, with any of the bookmarks in the.
4.) closing of Firefox
5.) go to the profile directory and delete everything beginning with "places.sqlite."
6.) restart Firefox
7.) now I have no duplicate directory. Success!
8) 8) bookmarks import saved above with display all bookmarks > import and backup > import bookmarks in HTML).Thanks for all help on this!

Impossible to import all bookmarks in the IE 11, only some. How to do it.
When you import IE 9 or 11 IE only a few bookmarks are imported. Why?
The format for the imported bookmarks has folders alphabetically with individual bookmarks. The desire of records that are in front of individual bookmarks.

If you don't have the menu bar in Internet Explorer, and then right-click on the toolbar above to activate the menu bar.

(1) open a library "show all bookmarks".
(2) search for any article you know is there, but you don't know where he is among the Favorites.
3) click on any element in the resulting list.
(4) you will see a lot of information about the item (bookmark), you clicked on.What you want * NOT * see is this very important piece of information: the LOCATION IN THE LIBRARY OF THIS BOOKMARK.
Where this bookmark is placed in the library? In what folder/subfolder?
I invite the developers of FireFox to add this info. Please...
Thank you!
There is an add-on for this:
https://addons.Mozilla.org/firefox/addon/show-parent-folder/
After installation and activation of the extension, Parent folder must appear on the list of columns in the Library dialog box.
If you want to see the full hierarchy the bookmark rather that just the name of the folder, you can set the page modules. Either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Find show Parent folder on the right, then click on the Options button.
Note: The extension was created more than 7 years ago and he's still not a built-in feature, so please don't hold your breath!

Hello
Import bookmarks HTML I think adds bookmarks. A faster way would be to set up Firefox sync:
- How do I set up Sync on my computer?
- How to choose what type of information to synchronize on Firefox?
If you want to remove quickly delete all your bookmarks, you can go to the library in Firefox:
- Bookmarks
> Show all bookmarks
- Double click to open one of the sub-menus (such as the Bookmarks Toolbar), press on Ctrl + A and Remove
- Press Back (back in the upper left of this window) and repeat for the other submenus

using professional XP, hundreds of favorites in IE 8. I can't their in Firefox, either directly by the Bookmark Manager (show all bookmarks/importing data and backup/import from another browser OR exporting favorites in IE 8 to an html (fact) file and then get back Firefox Bookmarks and using bookmarks/show all bookmarks bookmarks-import and backup/import html file.) I find the file, double click on open, BUT nothing happens in the bookmarks library?
It is not one case about others come more - nothing happens?
Have you tried a search in bookmarks (library) Manager since some know bookmarks?
Problems with bookmarks and history does not properly can be caused by a corrupted database places.sqlite file.
You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

All bookmarks to IE9 not filtered in 17.0.1 Firefox when they are imported from IE
I have countless amounts of Fav container and subfolders to the breast. When I go through the process of importing fom IE most of the content of the files is empty.
Try to export the EI in bookmarks.html IE format and then import this file into Firefox. This generally works better when multiple levels of subfolders are present in the IE Favorites.
In Internet Explorer:
File > Import/Export - Export to HTML filethen in Firefox:
Bookmarks > show all bookmarks-> import and backup - import HTML... = HTML file -
I am running Firefox 16.0.2 and IE 8 on my Windows 7 computer... I try to import the IE 8 'Favorites' in Firefox... I go through the procedure that Firefox has provided... but it is important ONLY part of my IE Favorites... it's only about 7 records with her subfolders where my save bookmarks are... I have a lot more than these folders (bookmarks)... any help?

I tried all the options under all items 'Help' to find my missing Favorites ("Favorites") from IE, and nothing has worked. When I tried 'Import of IE', he loaded a list of Favorites at least a year. I can't find the current bookmarks that are stored in the folder "From Internet Explorer". When I click on the Favorites (Star) icon in the upper right corner, the menu no longer displays the option to select "from Internet Explorer". The only thing I have not tried is the "Restore" option available in the "library" under "Import and backup" window: I don't know which of the files listed is correct, and the instructions careful that whatever files are chosen now will replace the previous file. I don't want to accidentally erase all my stored Favorites (hundreds of them) and end up with only the bookmarks I saved just recently - I don't want to end up with a set of (old) Favorites obsolete.
You can find the entry menu import into the Manager of bookmarks (library)
- Bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > import data from another browser
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/Import_bookmarks
If you can't find the IE Favorites in the folder ("Internet Explorer") or have problems with import favorites IE in Firefox, then export favorites in Internet Explorer to a HTML file and import this file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
This way also preserve you a sort that you did with the Favorites in Internet Explorer and the Favorites don't end up in a folder "from Internet Explorer", but will be added at the end of the file Menu bookmarks.
If you don't have the menu bar in Internet Explorer, and then right-click on the toolbar above to activate the menu bar.- Export Favorites in Internet Explorer to a file (bookmarks.html) HTML: file > import and export
- Import the HTML file in Firefox: bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > import HTML: from a file

I guess that something is corrupted your locked your bookmarks and history file. Try the instructions available in the bookmarks and toolbar buttons not working after upgrading
You must also switch to Mac OS 10.6.3

Something went this afternoon and when I started Firefox all my favorites have disappeared. I reinstalled Firefox and recovered my favorites. My bar on the top of the browser's back, and when I click on the bookmark icon, it shows all my favorites. However, if I click on show all bookmarks (ctrl-shift-B), none of my favorites appear. I have attached a screenshot to show what I see, but it seems that there is a corruption somewhere.
It is possible that they are all in a folder or hidden?
I hope that these help solve, please if you make changes to make a backup of the profile as well: back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox

I don't see "Show all bookmarks" when I try to organize my favorites.
The first is to organize the bookmarks: click the Bookmarks button, and then select Show all bookmarks to open the library window. I don't see "Show all bookmarks" when I try to organize my favorites. My desired final result would be followed by individual bookmarks in folders.
Finally found "Show all bookmarks" at the bottom of my list of bookmarks

There is no "Import and backup" button in "show all bookmarks".
I try to import bookmarks from an HTML file, using the isntructions to https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Importing%20Bookmarks%20from%20an%20HTML%20File?as=aaq#os=linux & browser = fx7
I click on bookmarks-> show all bookmarks.
The next step, said "from the toolbar in the library window, click on import and backup, and then Import Bookmarks in HTML... "
However, I don't see anything that says "import and backup". I use Firefox 7.0.1 on Ubuntu/service Ocelot, recently updated.
Ubuntu 11. XX shows the window menus in the control bar at the top of the screen with the switch to the window of the Unit Manager.
Click bookmarks/view all bookmarks, and then move your mouse to the upper left corner to the Firefox Web browser.
You will get a pop up menu (Organization, views and import and backup).

The window display all bookmarks and bookmark side are empty, even though my booksmarks are always accessible from the Firebox menu > bookmarks. Unfortunately, I can't manage my favorites through this option. How can I fix the windows display all bookmarks and Favorites aside to display my favorites?
One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.
