file limits

I have 02.02.26 running on a GB 4 rocket.  I use it only as a USB mass storage device (Linux is the host of synchronization).

I've only used to contain records of the albums under the pre-made MUSIC folder. I now about 40 files.  It seems that

Sometimes I'll add a folder, and everything seems to add very well, I take it apart (or sometimes called sync and dismantled) the

Rocket, but when I go to the for use, the new folder is not present.

There is no limitation on the number of records that can be made under MUSIC? The last time, I thought that maybe

was the problem and removed a couple of folders and renamed and rewritten later one and it worked.  In order to do not

sure if it was just a fluke, or if there is a real (and small) limit the number of file.

There are still a lot of space on the "rocket", BTW.

Thank you!

I got about 1 folder with 2 subfolders in it, so no, I was not nested.

After finding fsck.vfat on Linux, things ended up going wrong, so I had to make a new file system. Maybe it's not ENOUGH
back to the original content (with the demo stuff), but after some hacking on seems to be working again.
And now I know how to do it again if the file system is corrupt again. I suspect a session with my laptop
has been interrupted - judging from the file that has been corrupted.

Thank you, all!

I use in Labview 2009 real-time on a PXI-8130 controller.  I have set up the system with Labview RT to 2 GB partition, with a data partition (D which is a fat32 volume of perhaps 160 GB.) I record 'a lot' of data and my approach to them chunk files, so I want to be aware of any restrictions that I could meet.  I am having trouble that are perhaps related to the FAT, but I cannot definitevely claim that, so I would like to gather as much information as possible.

What are the limits on the number of files in the root directory or in an arbitrary directory, etc.?

In addition, is the limit of a single file of 4 GB? I just want to confirm that Labview RT support a 3.99 GB file, as opposed to only 1.99 GB file, like go limits signed/not signed.

I understand that certain limitations are inherent in FAT, but if some are implementation-specific, one of these limits change in newer versions of Labview RT?

  • Limiting enumerating EA6500 dlna file?

    Hello

I added a USB key 64 GB in order to have all my music database available via the Twonky server. I bought this router for this purpose.

But I discover more than 7998 file, I tried to rebuild the database and to rescan the file but nothing changed. Do you have advice on this problem?

More of that it seems that wma files could not be heard. It works from my computer, but not the Twonky server with the same files. Are there restrictions?

    Best regards

Routers Cisco uses the Twonky Media Server to manage the files and can be seen under my network places once the UPnP media server is enabled. It has a hard-coded parameter that consists of 8 000 files and it is not possible to modify or change this setting. The twonky media server settings is embedded in the firmware of the device is why it has file limitations. To work around the problem, you can just map the drive to display all files, but if you really want to use the twonky media server then you can purchase a license for the software of twonky media.

  • PSD Photoshop CS6 file sizes vs TIFF

I know that there are many threads there with regard to the advantages/disadvantages of savings in the PSD or TIF, but for the time being, I am still confused on some things and embarking on an exercise where I'll be editing or reissue a lot of images - that is why, I would like to do things the first time if I can.

My immediate question is if anyone can shed some light on the reason why an image that I save as TIF is 395 MB (in the Finder) - and the same image saved as PSD with no other change is "55 mb.

Over the years, I've almost always saved as TIF without compression - I never saved by any form of TIF compression.  But the disparity in this case between a TIF to 395 MB file and a PSD file 55Mo tells me there is something important, I do not understand.  Reason for the question is not only the huge disparity in the size of the file, but because I am also leaning heavily toward saving all my images under PSD as I advance in my project.

My concern is I missed something in a 55 MB PSD file vs a 395 MB TIF file or PSD just that much more effective than TIF?  I have many other images that I saved as a TIF and PSD where the uncompressed TIF file is maybe bigger than the file PSD - but nothing like this one, with a gap of 55-395 MB 50pct.

Would appreciate any comments from what seems like many who are well informed on the issue of PSD vs TIF.

When you save a Tiff file you have much more save option.  You can save files compressed or compressed, you can choose what compression to use. You can save flattened or with layers.

Save record PSD layers and you can set the size of the file with some of your preferences for the PSD in Photoshop files.   You can disable compression and save data options for maximum compatibility for older versions of Photoshop.

PSD has a 2 GB file limit, but you can save the file larger layers using Tiff limited to 4 GB and PSB files limited by free space in other words of large file with PSB.

Some applications can read a Tiff file, but not PSD files.  Some applications that can read the Tiff file will use the tiff full composite layer. They do not support the other layers. As Lighroom does not support layers other layers that are in tiff format are not used. TIFF with other layers have efect conposit layer lightroon conversions first changes is no longer can be adjusted to layer coposite necessitated changed by an image editior.

    The fine reference manual:

Say DBA_DATA_FILES STATUS and the ONLINE_STATUS of the files in question?

What does V$ DATAFILE must say?

Will you be able to create database objects in the database files?   How much does it cost to try and see for yourself?  Provided that you cannot specify this file directly an object goes in.  You can specify that a tablespace.  If this tablespace has only a single data file, the test is simple.  If the tablespace contains more than one data file, it becomes more complex, because oracle will use files of data within a TS as seems it.

  • Upgrade of the fourth Gen Time Capsule

I have one Capsule 2 TB fourth generation model A1409) and it turned out to be very reliable.  Unfortunately, the installed HARD drive is finally running out of storage space and so I'm looking to upgrade.  I searched the web and found a lot on the Time Capsule hard drive upgrade, but the results are usually on other models and with smaller discs etc..

If possible, I would like to install a reliable 4 TB drive in my fourth Gen T.C. to be used as a primary backup for my MacBook Pro retina and my machine to Windows 10 ASUS T300 CHI 2-in-1.

Are 4 TB of HARD drive is compatible with the fourth Gen Time Capsule?  And someone has nested together that they can recommend please?

I keep reading that the Hitachi drives are the best players generally ultra low failure rate, but all Hitachi drives seem to be 7200 rpm disks and I have also read that drives to 5400 RPM 'Green' are the best for the time Capsule as they run cooler and consume less energy?

I also read that drives Apple used to use the Hitachi drives but now sometimes use Wester Digital Caviar Green, who seem to have fail decently low too, although not as good as Hitachi?

If I install a reliable 4 TB of HARD drive, I'll be very happy.

    Thank you

4 TB hitachi (but they belong no longer to hitachi, it is now divided between Toshiba and WD) are a green car. IE 5400 RPM.

But the 4 TB WD Green are very good readers. These are now available in sizes up to 6 TB... Although I'd stick to 4 TB because it's as much data as you want to lose in a go. One of these drives work ok in the TC.

Remember that all drives fail eventually. If you use the TC for something else that backups... also use a secondary backup as well.

Also, Windows is not super great on a TC... It reads the disks in FAT32 and have 4 GB file limits. It is too slow... much more slow than buying a good NAS drive, or an external drive that can be in NTFS format.

The drive used in the Gen4 is a WD Green. If it worked very well for now... That's already 3-4years or more, then it should be ok.

Note the Gen4 may die suddenly... do not think that will happen if the real TC gives out.

  • StepProperty Loader and subsequences

    Hello

Usually, we charge our limits and - settings (inBuf) to a SQL Server with the database followed by a property Loader. Because we have a few PCs with a bad network connection we want to load the limits from a local text file. Everything works fine but the StepProperty charger generates a run-time error in the file text-limit is a Stepname which does not exist in the main sequence. With the old concept (DatabaseSteps) the shipper of property ignored who and showed the State of affairs. With the new concept of loading from a text file the PropertyLoader indicates the error status (which I cannot ignore, but the user sees a red step). Is it possible to configure the bootloader property to skip the Stepnames that do not exist in the sequence? (these stepnames usually exist in a sous-suite)

I have attached the file MySeq and the TextLimitFile.

    (We use TestStand 4.2.1)

    Thank you for your help

    Hi Paul,.

I have looked into this and I've seen the behaviour you're talking about. If you load a database limits, they load without error, even if the sequence contains all the steps of the database. However, if you load a file limits, a runtime error occurs if the sequence does contain all the steps of the file.

We are currently investigating this option to determine the best way to solve the problem long term, but I wanted to show you a solution that is us venus with that, in my view, would you allow to use the shipper of the property the way you want.

If you set the property Loader step to 'Ignore the Run-Time Error', the error dialog box will not appear. This allows the sequence to run, but as you said, the property stage Loader will display a red "Error" step. To change this, we can use a Custom Action after market the property Loader. See the following screenshot:

This custom condition sets the stage of 'Success' that long since there was no other error or the error code was - 18 (that is the mistake that we see when there aren't all of the steps in the sequence file). In the case of any other error, the sequence ends.

I hope this work around will help you with your current application, but if you have any questions or concerns about this, please do let me know.

When you set the paging file size in Windows, the documentation states that the swap file biggest that you can select is 4 095 megabytes (MB). This limit is imposed by the mapping of the page that we use on x 86 processors. These processors cannot handle more pages per the pagefile. It is the limit set by volume; You can create paging files this big on one or more readers if you need a larger swap file. If additional drives or volumes are not available, you can create multiple paging on a single hard drive files by placing them in separate folders.

    Hello Peterde,

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay in response.

If it is not necessary for you to share files on your computer with other users, disable file sharing.

Otherwise, if you need to allow some users access to certain folders on your computer, you can configure permissions to allow sharing of files limited, protected by password.

    Disable file sharing

    1. On the Start menu, select Control Panel, and then click network and sharing Center.
    2. In the left panel, click on change sharing settings, advanced and then click the arrow next to home or work.
    3. Check the following settings:
      • Network discovery: Off
      • File and Printer Sharing: Off
      • Public folder sharing: Off
      • File sharing connections: use 128-bit encryption...

  • Determining the size of the resultset query

    Oracle database version: 11.2.0.2.0

    OS: OL 6.2

Requirement: When we run a query for example 'SELECT id, name FROM customers WHERE id < 1000000' I would like to know the size of the data that will be returned. Based on this information, I'll have to decide whether to send the output to the client requesting data or to generate the output file. For testing we can assume that if the size is more than 5 MB then a file must be generated otherwise output should be sent to the client directly.

To further clarify, this is a Web service that is consumed by many clients. We want to avoid too much traffic due to the huge amount of data requested by the consumers of the Web service. So what we think that if we know that the size is say 5 MB per request limit then send data or generate a file that can be placed somewhere on the Web server and the applicant will be provided a link to download.

To complicate matters further, please note that the solution is developed using .NET and queries arrive to the Oracle database server via SQL server using linked server. In Oracle, we use UTL_DBWS to the Web service.

Ideas, suggestions for help are highly appreciated.

It is not practical to send any more data to the client that the client can reasonable expect to scroll.

At best, which can be a few hundred lines.

You must provide a user two possibilities: 1) receives a game limited to rows nnn (where nnn may be different for different categories of users) of results or 2) to receive a file limited to lines of ppp (where ppp can be different for different classes of users).

For some users, it makes sense to allow them to create a gigantic million lines, whenever they feel like it.

You may NOT know the number of rows that will produce an arbitrary query. All you can do is provide a break when you reach a certain number of lines.

If you use a PIPELINED procedure it could limit the number of rows returned. It could also dynamically calculate a size of each line and limit the number of bytes. But the row limit is the thing to use.

Even this procedure don't know how many lines there will be in the end.

I'm more concerned that you have not really us said the WHOLE question.

Allowing even a line to be returned can be disastrous if it is the result of a Cartesian join and/or uses an order of. Who would use a huge amount of resources which would then just get put away after only one row is returned.

Are you sure that you don't need also to limit the resources that a user can require?

Safety management for users of database Oracle - 11g Release 2 (11.2)

  • Placeholder data warehouses

    Hi all

I am confused on how to use the placeholder data store... What is best practice?

I knew that do not give very large store of data right the placeholder?  For example, is enough 5 to 10 GB of space reserved datastore? What is the size that we should use recommend? I have 200 VM replicated. Data store space how much should I use?

Would you advise me to use space data stores for which stored virtual machines?

    Thank you

Best, designate a data store size smaller than please datastore, say a 10 GB. More than enough with couple of hundreds of virtual machines.

When your virtual machines are replicated site protected to the recovery of the site either you use replication or SRM, Arraybased replication in addition to that vSphere helps you create Protection groups and then create recovery Plans using the same set of Protection groups. as part of this process, your site recovery (destination), your placeholder data store will be used to put placeholders VM [file vmx VM, file, file vmsd vmxf, etc.] based VM, by

because these files limited are involved in the creation of your placeholder VM, it is not consuming too much space, so better to have more small datastore as space reserved Datastore.

Actual VM is being replicated to the data source and destination store. So failure during recovery, these placeholder VMs will become actual VMs.

In addition, I should also mention that if you do replication from Site A (Source) Site B (Destination), ideally you configure Datastore space reserved to the only destination site, but please also configure a data store space for your Source site too, so what'Re-protect' and 'BACKSPACE' would work fine.

I have 200 VM replicated. Data store space how much should I use?

A data store by site as a placeholder data store with minimum possible range would be sufficient to store these placeholders 200 VM.

Would you advise me to use space data stores for which stored virtual machines?

No, please use a separate data store as a placeholder

  • Question of moving from virtual machine

Hey everyone, I have installed virtual machine I need to move from one hard drive to another.  The problem I have is that the destination drive is formatted in FAT32 and cannot send the VM on this disk because it is on the 4 GB file limitation.  I changed the settings to the hard drive to divide it into sections of 2 GB but can't seem to find where these files moved to.  I then looked in the file vmware-vdiskmanager-r sourceDisk.vmdk t 1 targetDisk.vmdk option, but it can not find the hard associated with the virtual machine.  It turns out that when I installed the virtual machine, it all packed in a .vmwarevm file.  I don't know how I can do this now. Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

If you have already selected a 'Divided into 2 GB files' in the settings of the Virtual Machine, you can now copy/move the computer virtual package (.vmwarevm) for the drive/partition/volume formatted FAT32.

A Virtual Machine package (.vmwarevm) is actually nothing more then a folder containing files (and other files).  Despite its size, as shown in the Finder, as long as 'Divide into 2 GB files' is selected in settings of the Virtual Machine, it can be copied/moved to a FAT32 format volume/partition/drive.
