File to restore data without backup - how it works?
HelloI have a 10.2 database runs on Linux without a recovery catalog archivelog mode.
I created backup current controlfile.
Then, I created tablespace 'data' and a table with a few lines inside.
Then I deleted all the controlfiles and the data file from the tablespace 'data '.
I did the restore and recovery:
RMAN > restore controlfile from autobackupp
RMAN > restore data from the tablespace.
creating data fno = 6 name file = /...
restore not made; all files readonly, offline, or already restored
RMAN > restore database;
(...)
It's good, but I wonder how it works: I've restored a backup controlfile and does not know this controlfile tablespace 'data '. I have no current controlfiles (they were all lost), so there is no RMAN Repository.
Can someone explain this to me?
Thanks in advance,
Sousou
Sousou,
There is a complete recovery (which means your controlfile is up-to-date, and you get so far) and incomplete recovery.
If you do not issue
until the logseq | Yvert | date
Before you restore and recover
RMAN will review the latest situation.
In this situation, there is no data of tablespace, RMAN is unnecessary restore this tablespace.
Restore the controlfile doesn't help here, such as structural changes in the database result in an automatic backup of the controlfile.
You restore the most recent backup, so in this automatic backup tablespace has also disappeared.

How can I recover a data file if it drop without backup!
Dear friends,
I have a request.
In oracle database 10g, I created a database of test name 'medium '. I created a tablespace "support_ts" here.
In my absent mind, I deleted the data file that is associated with "support_ts" physically. Logically the tablespace information is in the database, but physically the data file is deleted.
'SUPPORT' database has no backup (export and rman), also the database is in noarchivelog mode.
Now, is it possible to recover or do I focely delete the tablespace for database information? While, in the next database startup search information tablespace "support_ts"?Hello
Recover the data file is not possible without the backup of the data file.
You can re-create the control file and the startup of the database.
Steps to recrete the control file.
1. change controlfile backup of database to trace in the "
";
2. open the control file and remove the entry from tablespace and datafile support partly noreset newspapers.
3. connect sys as sysdba
4 cancel immediately / closed stop
5 startup nomount
6. paste balls noreset controlfile content
7. After you have created the mount controlfile and open the database.Kind regards

HP TouchSmart 4-1223tu Ul ENVY: restore data from backup
Dear all,
yesterday I was accidentally reset my laptop at the base. because I accidentally push the F11 key.
and I just klik next and next and next. When the recovery menu came, I choose recovery for this portable partition recovery (without flashdisk or external hard drive).
and now I get confused how to restore my data backup in the recovery partition in this laptop.
Please help me.
Thank you
Irma
Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums. After what you've done, you'll need to order the HP support recovery media. Regarding your data, it is gone as soon as you start the process. You want to keep all the data should be stored on an external drive.
Here is the link so that you reach your recovery media for your system.
HP computers - get HP recovery disks or HP USB recovery disc
Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

Windows Vista. I can't restore data from backup after reinstalling windows.
Regularly, I backed up my Dell laptop Vista hard disk independent. I just had to reinstall windows and now when I go to restore my data, I get a message saying the backup location is not available. I ran a backup on the same drive as before, but the problem remains. Even backup always lists all the backups I made before resettlement. How can I restore my data?
Here's an article from someone who was essentially the same problem as you and finally resolved itself do the restore again (although some other suggestions can help more in your situation). http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaprograms/thread/f9d74b19-5eec-4453-a3b4-ff11940ec83a.
Frankly, at this point, I'm puzzled. I don't know what else to try. Maybe someone with more knowledge (a support technician or MVP) will read and respond to this topic. I suggest you try this announcement in the Technet forums: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itprovistaapps/threads. They are a little more technically oriented than here and may be able to find a solution to your problem.
Good luck and I hope you get your problem resolved and can recover your lost .pst files. Lorien - a - MCSE/MCSA/network + / A +.

Confusion about restoring controlfile without backup
Hello
After you have created a controlfile manually without any backup the database how to a consistent state? Because the newly created controlfile does not have the SNA details as well as information of control point that had the deleted controlfile.
Also after you restore the controlfile is it necessary to open the database in resetlogs mode? If not why?
Please, help me erase these confusions. If the database was SHUTDOWN NORMAL or a cold restore backup (which included of Redo Log files online), the CREATE CONTROLFILE script doesn't have an OPEN RESETLOGS.
In fact, you can stop after you run the CREATE CONTROLFILE, and with the database is mounted but not OPEN yet, you can query V$ DATAFILE, V$ LOG etc. These points of view in the controlfile are met when the CREATION is made for CREATING had to read the Datafile and Redo Log file headers! If it was a hot backup or database required Media Recovery, you should use DATABASE with the HELP of BACKUP CONTROLFILE RECOVERY because the controlfile has no information about backups, SNA etc. which can be used for the review. Therefore, an OPEN RESETLOGS is necessary after the DATABASE to RECOVER.
Information about backups are never filled in the controlfile as it is not in the database (However, it might be in a catalog (repository) RMAN schema if you have in use).

I had a Blackberry 9700 and I made a back-up via Blackberry Protect App. My Blackberry is stolen and I want to transfer all data (approx. 600 phone numbers) from the back-up to my PC or to my Samsung Galaxy SII that I can borrow temporarily from a friend. Bottom-line: I need access to my back-up data without using a Blackberry device. How does this work?
Hey Sourbag,
Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.
You will need a BlackBerry to access these backup information. There is no way around it in BlackBerry Desktop Software.

Restore the control file and catalog items to backup using the command of CATALOGUE START WITH. Then I started the restoration
Don't know how it worked for Levi without %f or %U. So, I added %f$ rman target / cmdfile=restore.txt Recovery Manager: Release 11.2.0.3.0 - Production on Thu Jul 26 04:40:41 2012 Copyright (c) 1982, 2011, Oracle and/or its affiliates. As you can see, RMAN restore data files to the desired location. But the data file names ended up as$ vi restore.txt $ cat restore.txt run { SET NEWNAME FOR DATABASE TO '/fnup/hwrc/oradata/spikey/%f'; restore database ; } $ rman target / cmdfile=restore.txt Recovery Manager: Release 11.2.0.3.0 - Production on Thu Jul 26 04:45:45 2012 Copyright (c) 1982, 2011, Oracle and/or its affiliates. So I had to rename each file as below
I would have been better in execution of the order for each data below file$ mv 1 /fnup/hwrc/oradata/spikey/system01.dbf $ mv 2 /fnup/hwrc/oradata/spikey/sysaux01.dbf $ mv 3 /fnup/hwrc/oradata/spikey/undotbs01.dbf
Now, I think, there is no advantage in using NEWNAME SET of DATABASE to. Only the disadvantages. I did anything wrong above?SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE
Martin;
On the issue of the VALUE of NEWNAME FOR DATABASE, you must specify at least one of the first three of the following substitution variables to avoid collisions of names: %b f % U. see semantic entry for TO 'filename' for a description of the possible substitution variables.
You use %f
%b Specifies the filename without the fully qualified directory path. For example, the datafile name /oradata/prod/financial.dbf is transformed to financial.dbf. This variable enables you to preserve the names of the datafiles while you move them to different directory. During backup, it can be used for the creation of image copies. The variable cannot be used for OMF datafiles or backup sets. %f Specifies the absolute file number of the datafile for which the new name is generated. For example, if datafile 2 is duplicated, then %f generates the value 2. %U Specifies a system-generated unique filename. The name is in the following format: data-D-%d_id-%I_TS-%N_FNO-%f. The %d variable specifies the database name. For example, a possible name might be data-D-prod_id-22398754_TS-users_FNO-7.

How to restore a previous backup on a new install of XP Pro and HARD disk?
I have experienced HARD drive failure last week and has spent a lot of time trying to retrieve the data. I have a previous backup on an external drive, but when I try to restore the files to a new HARD disk with a new installation of XP Pro - files copy them all, but none of the programs or features network work?
I was going to just to reinstall everything from scratch and just use the recovered data and log files after all the programs I use for my business back... Is there an easier way? Why Windows does not support a backup feature when it does not replicate the system on a new HARD drive correctly or I do something wrong? I can access is no longer the disc HARD death after that I got everything I could out of it (2 x backup and a copy of all important files) before it just completely fried.
I bought a new HARD drive and installed XP then tried restoring the system to a new HARD disk and all the files are there, but not where they all should be (My Documents is empty and aka 'Of Joe Documents' are stored in a separate folder elsewhere in the new HARD drive) and none of my programs work properly - my antivirus software (CA Security Suite 2009) is , but continues to tell me that none of this is installed. Microsoft Office does not work - tells me that it's just a trial - and Outlook will not retrieve my emails, Outlook looks like not even the same. None of my networks will work with other office machines, but somehow, I have access to the internet through the network...!
I have to format the new HARD drive in the same directory that the backup was of? (he's currently: / instead of C: / for some reason any) And the name of the account PC should be accurate? (he is currently Documents of Pete Peter's Documents instead).
I feel blurred by microsoft because I myself prepared for something as it happens and now my company is still paralyzed because the backup does not restore the functionality of my system. Please tell me if I did something wrong and I don't have to buy all my software licenses again after reinstalling ALL my software that has already been restored from a backup. I spent the last few days to Google search without result.
Hello

MSINWINPC - FBW files and restore, backup Dec 2009 concerns, concerns given PC June 2011
Dear Sir/Madam,
I did a back up of my data in December 2009 and I was wondering what is happening during a restore because I read that FWB is an extension for the backup file that is created. It compresses all the saved data and it incorporates in a single file so that it develops the files when performing a restore.
What happened to my computer from my backup, it's that I had to install the Windows Vista Service Pack 2, which has consistently failed. To cut to the Chase, I contacted HP and everything they suggested the partition of hard drive HP factory reset factory reset, does not work properly and therefore all erased my disk hard but does restore all apps doing so my computer a brick. But since then, I contact Microsoft who kindly helped me with my cmputer and it is now working very well. (Thanks a lot).
In any case, since the restore will be expanded I have 3 fear and would like advice on how I should go about restoring:
1. the data amounts to 35.8 GB is currently on my external hard drive and free space on my drive hard is only 38 GB. If the files are all developed the 35.8 GB of data will take over 38GB?
2. If I wanted to restore only certain files (I have a master's thesis I want to find and restore), copy the data to a file on my C drive before using the backup and Restore Center on my computer to find the file and restore?
3. I'm worried that the old files that are saved can conflict with existing files I have been restoring my computer (like copying and pasting a file with the same name). I have to worry about this at all if I had to restore my backup data?
Thank you
Hi Densebrains
Yes, the files get expanded after a restore of the backup is performed and the free space, you mentioned not be enough to restore the backup. When restoring files is performed on the computer disk files with the same name are replaced and you will get a prompt notifying replace it taking place.

Windows will not use the disks of backup file to restore, get "unknown error."
Backup done recently will not work when you try to restore the files. System indicates an "unspecified error" has occurred. No clue on what is blocking recovery? Thank you

Restore data from a CD after format hard drive. Backup and Restore Center.
I had a virus problem in my system. I was asked to back up the data before they formatted my hard drive. I used the backup and restore - 33 CDs Center. After picking up my computer (they have reinstalled the operating system - Vista), I was unable to restore my data. When I try to restore it, I get this message "there are no backups available on this computer.
Hi happythinker321,
1. How did you create the backup?
You will need to use the advanced restore feature and check if it works.
1. open the Center to backup and restore by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then click backup and Restore Center.
2. click on Advanced Restore Options. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. click on files from a backup made on a different computerand then follow the steps.
