Files accepted in first Elements 8

I plan to get a Canon Rebel T2i camera that has video. It saves files in MOV whish uses H264 compression format. His are 3 frame rate, which I use 1920 x 1080, 30 p. First Elements 8 installation should import these files? I suspect that the compression ratio is large enough on the video of these cameras. Also easily burn these files on a Blu Ray disc to play on these drives? Thirdly the file 30 p can be converted down to HDV standard of archiving on tape with this format?

Files in format MOV in general of a camera will present a challenge edition EP. This is not unique to the EP, but would be seen through much of the NLE (non-linear-editors) found on the market (this bridge in time).

Bottom line is that you try to use the MOV files natively with PE will be difficult, if not impossible.

(The NLE which deals with this in the future, will be a game changer, eventually everyone will have a still camera that shoots highly compressed video HD and want to easily change)...

Review this section to B & H Photo, although not specific to your camera, he mentions the Canon Rebel, and it will give you a sense of the challenge with video cameras Image.

You may be better served, conversion in a more favorable Format for editing, but then you have to deal with possible loss of quality or converted to the Format of the camera will export to.

Probably not the answer you wanted to hear, but I'm sure others will chime in with a decent workflow to help you...

I can get you a file you can enter organizing items 12 and also import (with no defects) in the first of 12 items Editor. But, it is

    with workarounds...

    1. your original MPEG2.ts must be fully compatible with the editor first of 12 elements. But I can't hold a MPEG2.ts my organizing items 12.

Besides, I see a problem integrating the organizing elements 12 of any MPEG2 file while I'm not having this problem with organizing items 9, 10 or 11.

Solution 1. Simply import the MPEG2.ts in first 12 items editor for your project. No thoughts of organizing elements.

    2. I've found that I can produce a very good quality AVCHD.mp4 of the MPEG2.ts using Movie Maker 2012 in Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 64bits.

I find that I can take this AVCHD.mp4 in the first elements 12 without any problem. However, I can't take this AVCHD.mp4 in

First 12 items editor except IF I rename the .mov .mp4 file extension.

Solution 2. For goals in first 12 editor and organizer elements 12, convert your .ts in .mp4 with Movie Maker 2012, change the name of the file to .mov .mp4 extension and then import the .mov in first 12 elements or elements Organizer 12 or both without problem.

    3. maybe one step may be eliminated by converting the .ts in .mov directly with a program such as MPEG Streamclip.

    http://www.squared5.com/

Problems of Organizer 12 elements seem to go beyond the excuse of the lack of codecs. Still considering what to do with the organizing elements 12 in

in general. My old troubleshooting shall delete the settings file and create a new catalog don't work... as well as the flexibility to rename

extensions of files involved and right-click the thumbnail of the elements Organizer and select thumbnail update.

Please consult the bulletin and consider the foregoing and then let me know if everything above worked for you.

Right now I'm looking at your ts VLC for conversion .mp4 to try to determine what happened to you with it.

    Later.

Add on... No matter what I do with your VLC H.264.mp4... the file import in first elements 12 change nuanced green or green video. I feel

the problem is in the video codec used. Replacing the file extension of .mp4, .mov here does not change the situation.

  • Export of custom presets to 'Share' of first Elements 9

I know that I can create presets customized under the 'Action' tab using the "Advanced" option, but I would like to export these presets and copy it on to a server so that everyone in my Department can access the presets and copy it on their computers.  I'm having a time of riduclous tries to find a way to do it, and I wonder if it is possible at all.  I found .erp systempresets folder, but have had no luck locating those custom made.

Does anyone know if this is possible and how to export/locate these presets custom .erp?

    Danke.

I figured out how to make it... and I'll share.

When you create a custom preset in Premiere Elements, it lands in a directory on your user profile.

    • Where they land:  C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Elements\9.0\SC\Presets\PC\MPEG\HD
    • In the presets folder, it will create an appropriate path based on your predefined settings.  My screening was for the computer (PC), mpeg (MPEG) format and in high definition (HD) - so the final folder destinations.

I also found that when you create a custom preset in Premiere Pro, you can import it into Premiere Elements.

    • Custom presets created in Premiere Pro can be found here: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\AME\5.5\Presets

You can also import both the elements and the Pro custom presets in the presets for items foder systems.

    • This should make the visible custom presets for all users on this computer.
    • System of Presets Directory: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe first elements 9\sharingcenter\Presets

Thanks for trying to help me, and I will say that Hunt your suggestion gave me some ideas that have helped me find - so thanks for that!

    Thanks for the information.

If you have a DVD drive that is labeled 4.7 GB / 120 minutes, then space and Bitrate readings tell you that you have

too much on the drive to get the best quality result. Want to see a required space = less than 4.38 GB with a Bitrate of 8,00 Mbit/s to

get the best quality. This 6.27 Mbps Bitrate said you that the program, in order to make made it, lowered the baud rate to reduce the size of the file

to make the adjustment. However, in the descent to the low rate of 8,00 Mbps (max), the quality gradually decreases until the program can not lower it

no more. Then you get insufficient space message.

    All that being said

    a. If the quality of the burning to disc seems acceptable to you under these DVD-R 4.7 GB / 120 minutes condition, go with it.

    (b) if not, then use a DVD layer distinguished Double sided disc that comes marked 8.5 GB / 240 minutes.

The group to which you send your DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc did not specify the type of disc. For example, you may have to contact for confirmation

the requirement of disk beyond "DVD.

Just to remind... When you burn it to disc in Premiere Elements, your product is DVD-VIDEO to DVD disc. If you explore the contents of the disc, you

will find two files. -a named OpenDVD and other VIDEO_TS.  Your video files (MPEG2. VOB) and the rest of the files are files that make up the DVD VIDEO structure in the VIDEO_TS folder.

With your MPEG2.mpg is the file size estimated when you're in the box publish + share/computer/MPEG. File size estimated for export and the duration of export must appear at the bottom of the dialog box export, just above and to the left of the back and save buttons here.

When I took this screenshot, I had nothing on the timeline, so the file size: 0.00 B and duration: 0.00 Sec.

We could talk a DVD 2 disc (split content into 2 discs 4.7 GB / 120 minutes), the value of video compression alternative so you can know if other

MPEG2 video compression is acceptable - and how strict the requirement is of type of media on which is placed the format - DVD 4.7 GB / 120 minutes, DVD 8.5 GB / 240 minutes, or a USB Flash drive that can have higher capacities.

Please let me know if you're OK with the details.

  • Which files must be registered with the Organization of the first elements 13 files

I'm organizing my recording I want to keep on an external hard drive and files by removing what is not necessary.  I want to assure you that I can open my projects later and make changes to them, but for now, I'm done with changes in these videos and you want to store on the external hard drive to save space. I understand that I can remove the preview Adobe Premiere elements files. What the record coded files and folder Layouts. I noticed that the encoded files folder has only some of the projects, so I don't know how I created inadvertently them and what is their purpose. Ditto for the Layouts folder and files of the score. Thank you

There are two ways to do it.

My way is not documented.  It is to have EVERYTHING for each project in a project folder named and dedicated.  That includes copies of all the assets of video, image and audio and all the disks scratch (Edit > preferences > Scratch disks).   I can then copy the WHOLE folder anywhere for storage.  Then I can copy the disk to work for future changes.  Note that this may not work if you upgrade to the next version.  You must keep your different version to match your projects.

Another way is to use the project archiver... tool on the file menu.  I tried it a few times and it works.  I use it because I have more can control on the folder structure when I average.  I remember correctly, there are two choices in the project archive.  One saves a vast set of folders for future work.  The other deletes files to save space, but leaves less future editing options.  Note that some versions there was a suggestion on this forum that it could be a bug somewhere in the archiver.  Before you delete your main project file, you can test personally being able to open an archived project.

Please refer to the manual ( https://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/premiere-elements_reference.pdf ) explanation of the process of archiving.

  • Active project - first Elements 14 - cannot dray files

I can't drag files in folders in the active project in the first 14 with Windows 10 elements.

    Bill McMurry

    Thanks for the follow-up.

Let me give you an example... If decides to issue all about working to put images in folders of the project not the routine and drag-and - drop files in the active project... an example

If I have images imported into the workspace of first elements 14 active project experts (see list), create a folder in the project and want copies of these images in the folder

    .

Then as I hold down the CTRL key, I'll click dragging an image in the folder icon.

You can open and close the file by clicking the small triangle to the left of the folder for the folder icon.

However, at this point, I agree with you that 14 is 'different' in his behavior to file new active project (against 11, 12/12.1 13/13.1)

11, I could drag the files in the folder - not abandoning the original you see in screenshot 2. Also, 11, I could drag the file out of the folder for various purposes, including the rearrangement to the folder. I can still do it with the help of the CTRL key, but I end up with the copy.

If what I'm describing goes to the point of your question, I will explain some more on it. I did the above with first elements 14 on Windows 7 64 bit. Based on your response, I'll do that too with Premiere elements 14 on 10 64-bit Windows and add more variables to the mix.

    Thank you.

  • Missing files after changing computer with Adobe first Elements 9

    Hello

I recently changed my computer, and I installed Adobe first Elements 9, I had on my old computer. I actually changed my computer hoping that it would be better, because she was always crashing on my old computer. I tested it, I created a new project and everything went very well. But of course, I also want to continue my old editing projects. The problem is that, even if my library is organized as with my old computer, Adobe Premiere is not able to associate the files in my projects at their source. If each of my files (sounds, videos, music, effects) are not recognized, and I need to restore one by one by clicking on them and the research in my library. Now, I quickly realized that I could not go that way, because I'm editing of thousands of files.

But I have trouble believing that there is no way first can recognize files by itself, like iTunes can do when the music is missing. I mean, first knows exactly how the missing files are supposed to be, then why couldn't he find them? Does this mean that if my computer was broken, I could not able to change my old projects on a new? This makes no sense.

    Thanks in advance,

    Thanks for the reply.

To check the version... Please open Premiere Elements in his chronology workspace. Go to Menu Help / about Premiere Elements. The top of the screen that opens should include a version 9.0.1 if you have downloaded and installed version 9.0.1 and work from it.

Please consider the following strategy and see if it solves the problem... just do it for a project as a series of tests...

    1. back to the computer 1, open your project and determine that it opens with the media source associated with the project.

2 create a folder "copied" using File Menu/project Archiver and its choice of copy a project.

3 transfer the folder "copied" 2 hard drive... maybe with USB Flash drive.

    4. Ouvrezledossier "copied" on computer 2, find the project file (PREL), right click, select open with, and then Adobe Premiere elements 9.0.

The project opens in the Adobe Premiere elements 9.0 on the computer 2 with all its current source media?

    a. to view a thumbnail with a frame of the video

    and

    b. can be read in the drive of organizing items 13.

I didn't by all export choices to unravel the formats will do the same. But this particular result of AVCHD.mp4 (1920 x 1080 p 30) is

  • Media cache files: first Elements 9 with SSD

Hello you lovely people from Adobe.

I apologize if this has been asked before, if so please could someone direct me to an answer?

I have the first Elements 9 on Windows 7. My question is quite simple: my new shiny SSD becomes full of temporary files to the location of 'Files of Cache C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media' every time that I'm working on a project.  I put all the other elements of the cache that I can see in 'Préférences' on my mechanical drive, but I'm scared to see this folder filling with large files on my SSD. Apart from the useless reads and writes, it will be filled in no time. It seems in Premiere Pro, you can send this file to an external drive, but I can't find this option in Premiere Elements.

Please tell me there is a way to move the media cache of the file to another drive than C:\ directory?

    Thanks in advance

    alistair78

The answer is that you need answers to Premiere Elements for questions of Premiere Elements.

Standardized audio files (cfa and pek) are stored in the media Cache files folder. By default, this folder is located in Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 64bits.

Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements / 10 (if 10 is your version). You set the save location for media Cache files folder in first things Editor workspace Edit Menu/preferences/Scratch disks as well as 'Media Cache' category.

The respected video files (CMPD) are accessible via the first elements Editor workspace Edit Menu/preferences/Media and its area of media Cache database. You will find a Clean up to a certain limit set and clear them. The real files (with a .mcdb file extension) can be found via the path in this field. This seems to be a static situation.

Render the content of the timeline to get the best possible overview to read the back of the chronology of the content in the box monitor edition preview files are stored in the folder of files Adobe Premiere elements previews. By default, this folder is located in Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 64 bit libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements / 10 (if 10 is your version). You define which record the location for the Adobe Premiere elements elements previews file folder to the first elements Editor workspace Edit Menu/preferences/Scratch disks and the category of video Previews.

Please let us know if you are now clearly Premiere Elements and how it relates to media Cache and al.

  • First Elements 11. Cannot open the project (file PREL) in point 8.1 of Windows.

    Thanks for the reply.

When you import media source in a first Elements (any version), you are not importing real media. What you have in the media of the project are copies of the originals which are stored in the designated place hard drive. But the project needs to trace these originals to the save location as they were when they were imported in the project. If you move the source media, delete rename them or even that they are in the folder, you will encounter some bad media reconnect issues. At this point, the message "Where is the file...?" that you get when you try to reopen the saved closed project will be a major asset by her reconnects. Alternatively, you can use the function replace images for her reconnects.
