Files bridge Illustrator creates a clipping mask.

I'd do it stay use B Ridge as a library for my Illustrator files. Only when I supported on SHIFT key when you drag an illustrator file in my document (Illustrator), he translated my work in a plan cutting mask. Anyone have a solution?

I work in Adobe Illustrator CS5. Thnk you.

The problem is not in the economy, but dragging your works of art to bridge in an open file. This way you do not open a .ai, but integrate the .pdf file. He will always be in a clipping mask, because that's the way, PDF are treated when it is placed. Use the library of symbols like Kurt suggested.

  • How to create a clipping mask in photoshop touch?

I want to be that lines with a photo showing through it, like a window to the text. I think I need to create a clipping mask. I can do it in photoshop touch? If so, how?

    Hi Sashakit,

In Photoshop, you would definitely be able to use a clipping mask, you have the right idea. There is no function of masking in Photoshop Touch, but I found a way to get the same effect you!

    1. open the image you want to show through the text.

2 choose the menu " more ' (& symbol) and choose the option text.

3 type the word or the sentence and fix it where you would like to show through. Choice of black or white for the color is the easiest to see, but a lot no matter what color you choose.

4 use the Magic Wand selection tool and do not forget to click on the additive . When you tap each letter, it will be a group of pieces for you chose the additive option.

5 now that your letters are selected, make sure that you type on the bottom layer (with your photo). The selection must always remain active.

6 choose the menu with the pencil icon and choose extract... This will delete everything outside your current selection.

7 now you can delete the layer with the text on this subject or replace invisible to see your new picture!

I hope this helps. See you soon!

  • Ive been trying for hours now, but illustrator wont allow me to create a clipping mask

I created the spirit logo attached the pen tool. I then cut the Central Wick using the form generator tool.

I imported it into a new document with an object/image that I want to hang it. I select the two go to object > clipping to mask.

The two objects is suddenly off and I do not see the fill / no STROKE of the icons. If this does not happen then There nature and all just say "cannot make a clipping mask.

This has been bothering me for a few days now.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Herms-ra.

You can do so quite different or similar with masks of Cliping, without or with background color purple/note/smoke.

Note: There was an error in the first proposal in post #18: in step 5) you must select C) (purple/note/smoke color background to cut of the) instead of d) (the underlying texture of parties drops black), sorry, I just spotted it.

You can (reusing a part of the first proposal):

    (1) return to, or start from scratch, with the following basic elements (starting with this stacking order):

    (A) the compound path, forming the dripping inner circle party black (in A).

    (B) the compound path, forming the external parties dripping with black,

    (C) the color purple/note/smoke to cut background

    (D) the underlying texture parts of gout black,.

    (E) the underlying texture of letter parts internal;

    Select 2) A) and B) and copy both to the top of the stacking order, then release both Compound paths and remove the inner path from A) and the external path of B), then turn them into a new compound path, consisting of forms of internal letters (you can use Pathfinder > less first plan or object > compound path > make);

    (((3) E move) (the underlying texture of parts internal letter) up just below the new path composed of 2), select both and opposition > clipping mask > make, and then to hide;

    (Select 4 (A) (composite route forming the dripping inner circle in black (A)) and b the compound path forming the outer circle dripping parts black) and object > compound path > make;

((5) select the combination of 4) and D) (the underlying texture of parties drops black) and object > clipping mask > make.

    (Show 6) 3).

    (C) the note/violet/smoky colored backgroun, if keep you it, or any other background will be visible everywhere where it is not covered.

  • How to close a form image drawn to create a clipping mask?

    Hi friends,

I hand - drew a skirt, took a picture of my design and trace the image to create a vector of my image.  I now use the clipping mask to fill my skirt with a pattern of drawing. See my skirt of drawing and model below.

    Screenshot (39).png

The only problem is that my drawing is not closed.  In the upper left corner of the skirt, there is this opening in the drawing (detail shot below).  What is the best way to bridge that gap, so I can use the image as a clipping mask?

    Thank you!

    Screenshot (40).png

Use the shapebuilder tool to fill the inside of the skirt with a color (any color)

To close the gap, first double-click the tool in the tools Panel to enable detection of space.

The colorful filling can be used as a clipping mask.

  • Create a clipping mask and insert multiple Images, forms, blending options

I am able to do this in Illustrator, but I try to understand how to do this in InDesign.

In InDesign - after I created a custom shape (clipping mask) with the pen tool I drop an image inside the shape (CMD + D).
However, I would like to add other forms or images in this clipping mask and set the blending options. How does this in InDesign?

    Thank you!

    1. Draw or make the mask of future cliping as frame
    2. All put together that you want to be in this context.
    3. Group them
    4. Move them to the location you want them finally
    5. Cut them into your editing table
    6. Select the target image
    7. Change > passed in
  • Why don't this creates a clipping mask?

Trying to take a file that I bought AND it hides in shape. Either she comes back she can't hide, or I get a white screen. If I select the form, I can see selected, but there is no fill. The file was a complex design, but I tried to use the clipping mask do it from the layers panel as well as the Panel of the object. Neither work. What Miss me?

Here is a link to the file...

The problems (there are several) resident with bird drawing you want to use as a mask object. Select the bird and choose object > clipping mask > cancel clipping mask. Remove the white box that appears. Reselct the bird and choose object > compound path > release Compound Path.Go object > composite and make Compound path > select all, and then choose object > clipping mask > make clipping mask.

    That should do it.

  • New adjustment layers - create the clipping mask?

This just started happening.  I use Windows Home Premium 64-bit and 64-bit Photoshop CS5 (not extended).  My system specs are listed below.

I've been editing a series of photos when the levels adjustment layer dialog box started to behave abnormally.  Finally, I realized that, in the "New layer" dialog, the "Use previous layer to create clipping mask" is checked.  When I click on button othe levels in the "Adjustments" pane the new adjustment layer is also indented as if I had used the Ctrl + Alt + G key combination.

I restarted Photoshop and got the same behavior, then restarted Windows and always get the same behavior.  I am sure I have inadvertently enabled something, but can not find the place where to retrieve the original bahavior.  Does anyone know where to turn?

    Thanks,-Dave

  • Export only a clipping mask in PNG file

I've recently upgraded from Illustrator CS3 Illustrator CS5.

In CS3, I was able to:

    1. Create a clipping mask to hide a part of the graph.
    2. Set the crop area to match the clipping mask.
    3. Export the graph as a PNG file, with only the part of the chart included in the displayed collection area.

    In CS5,.

    1. Converted the acreage in a work plan.
    2. The clipping mask is already in place, so no change there.
    3. Set the work plan to match the clipping mask.
    4. Try to export a PNG file, but the PNG file automatically contains the entire chart, not only the area in the work plan.

I found a solution online, but it is flattening of transparency, ungroup the object and then manually by removing the parts of the image that we don't want / need. While this works, it is not a viable solution because I need the opportunity to go back and make changes to the image of origin if necessary.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

Did you "Clip for work plan" checked in save for web or the 'use Artbaords' selected for export, correct?

  • Create a clipping with a background color mask?

I recently made the switch using CorelDRAW for my vector art to mainly using Adobe Illustrator. I know of course that there will be some features that are exclusive to Illustrator and CorelDRAW exclusivity, but I've done the research on trying to find the "equivalents" in Illustrator for some tasks I could do in CorelDRAW.

I know that the tool in Illustrator clipping mask is very similar to cutting power in CorelDRAW. What I'm trying to determine is if it's possible in Illustrator to create a clipping with a background color mask. In CorelDRAW, I could create a shape with a color fill Uni, and then insert an image with a background transparent, as shown below.

    Capture 1.JPGCapture 2.JPG

Now, in Illustrator, when I create a shape with a color, then he and a pattern that is transparent to create a clipping mask, the color disappears:

    Capture 3.JPGCapture 4.JPG

Is there a simple way to create a clipping with a solid background color mask? The only work around, I've found so far is a form of solid color, the same size as what I want to be the size of cutting with my transparent motive, then staple in another form of the group. As I said though, just curious to know if there is a simpler way to do this, or if this is the method I'm stuck with.

    Thanks for any help!

A clipping mask can have its own fill.

    There are two methods:

-After creating the clipping mask, select the path of masking with direct selection and apply a fill

-Use the option 'Draw inside' to create the mask. Next draw is at the bottom of the tools Panel. With draw inside the maks object will not lose its filling.

  • Clipping masks in have CS5 removes accidents vascular cerebral and other Follies

When you create a clipping mask, Illustrator CS5 removes the stroke on the mask itself and when I add the return stroke, it adds the same stroke to objects in the clipping mask.

In the file below, Figure 1 shows a rectangle with a black border and an orange circle with no stroke. Figure 2 shows the result of creating a clipping mask - the black line on the rectangle has been removed. Figure 3 shows the result of the addition of the black line to the mask - it adds the stroke to the orange circle as well.

This is one of the many things on Illustrator that lead me to believe that Adobe people have never tried to work with their own programs. Why the hell would I want the shot to be eliminated in the first place and why would I want to add elements within the mask when I go to replace it?

Is there anything I should do differently or is this yet another oblivion, I have to work around forever?

Have you used the direct Selection (Open arrow) tool to select the clipping mask? It should work.

  • Failure of clipping mask

Hi, I just received a poster at the back of the printer and I noticed the edge of the printed work clipping mask. The graphics included in an image (placed in CMYK tiff format) and plain vector graphics on top in some areas.  I had a white rectangle (brought to the foreground) from left to right (at the edge of the page) on the image, then I gathered all the elements (white rectangle always at the front) and created a clipping mask (a rectangle rounded corners) about 1 cm inside the page to keep everything tidy. When the white rectangle on the image and the border of the poster are gathered there is a hairline of the color of the image. The full view of the page, I could see the line but when I zoomed close uber, he disappeared (even in the PDF file).  I've seen things appear a little asymmetrical in PDF files high resolution before even when you know they are aligned properly so I sure don't worry it was just preview incorrectly. Anyhoo! hope I have explained this Ok... can anyone suggest why it happened or how to create the work properly. Cheers, Sarah

I think I know what you're talking about. A bit of the image a leak in front of the white box.

Should not have caused a problem, but he did. Sorry about that.

I faked it your problem. When I did the following, showed nothing of the image in front of the white box, in Illustrator or Acrobat:

    1. draw a big box that surrounds the work

    2. Select this and the white box, make a compound path

    3. Select this and the image, make a clipping mask.

    4. now bring your round corner rectangle to the front.

5 Select all, make a clipping mask.

    Hope this helps

  • Problem with the clipping mask

I tried to create a clipping mask to cut out the background of an image, but after I created it there is always some parts of the background in the picture of rest. I'm only using Illustrator CS3.

Your clipping mask must be a path composed of hide the object as follows.

  • Clipping mask

Created a clipping mask (put an image in an object), to reduce the size of the image.

Exported and the file is still the part of the image, although invisible, outside of the object.

    CreativeTreo,

Outside this cropping in Photoshop, you can do the dirty work of destructive, with the selected clipping mask:

    (1) in the drop-down list the palette/Panel transparency list select everything except Normal (Multiply is fine; this step may not be necessary in your version, you can try;

    (2) object > flatten transparency, just keep the defaults including 100% vector.

    (3) thrill.

That's all for the bounding box of the Clipping Path cultures.

  • Problem of clipping mask...

Hello. I'm working on a logo for a person using the CC of Illustrator version. The background for the logo was created using a clipping mask and is a green light green oval dark grass superimposed "blades". The blades were created using pencil, then I put the oval shape on top and used Apple command 7 to create a clipping mask. Problem is, when I change the size of the logo, "blades" of grass are the same weight that they have created, so when the image is reduced, the grass turns out to be much thicker, and the opposite happens when the image is enlarged. This approach of course of the problems on the track when creating cards and of the storefront signage. Tips on how to keep the same proportions when you change the size of the logo?

    Thank you!!

You can extend the appearance of all your shots.

Select your picture and go to the menu/object/decaying appearance.

If you want to keep your shots and always on the scale. Make sure that your "stroke brain and effects globally" is checked. It's under preference (or cmd + k)

but I'm really against finals logos with effects and strokes. I saw everthing and flatten it out as much as possible.

  • How to get the transparent lines in a black box (clipping mask)?

    Hello

This is the first time I use Illustrator, so I hope it's a simple question.  I created a black box and a series of segments of white line through it.  Now I need those white lines to 'cut' the black box.  At the end of the day, I need just the black parts of the box with transparent bottom lines in it (so the lines take whatever the context located - that is a different image or color).  I tried to group the line segments and create a clipping mask, but had no luck.  Does anyone have advice on how this can be accomplished?

    Thank you, Marc

    image.jpg

Expand the white lines, then use the Pathfinder Palette tool for either Subtract (without tool) or divide the white lines in the cup of the black box as desired.
