I can't open my documents or attachments. Suffice to say that I need default program?

Any document I write and record, in Documents does not open.

Does not open any attachments sent to me on any of my email addresses.

The same message appears: this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Install a program or, if such is already installed, create an association in the default program control panel.

I have windows 7.

Right click on the file > open with > choose default program > select the one you want > Put check always use the selected program to open this type of file > OK.

An example would be the extension of format (.doc or .docx) file where the word is used to open it.
