Files of Outlook express

I have XPsp3 and Outlook express. One of my folders that contains important messages suddenly disappeared.  They are not in the Recycle Bin or one of my other OE files or in my office files or Outlook.

My system restore does not work.  I have a

Dell Inspiron Desktop 5 + years.  They want me $100 load + difficulties.

Y at - it a way to retrieve these messages.  I can go to my Verizon webmail and retrieve some but not all.

You have checked deleted items? No file bak in the trash? See if the dbx to the folder file still exists in the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Post back with your results.

A user to our small business reports that she one day noticed that the contents of its files to Outlook Express disappeared.  Records are intact, but the messages have disappeared.  Strangely, what happened to half of its files; the content in the other half is still there.

    She uses Outlook Express 6.
    Suggestions?

In addition to comments of Bruce, likely OE compacted messages and in doing so, he probably wiped out the where they are absent.  Check your Inbox and message store bak files which are backups dbx files prior to compaction (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2).  If you cannot find the bak files, then you will probably use the extract of the service drive of my DBXpress program (see www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/).

  • Can I transfer my file to outlook express on the desktop?

I currently have outlook express on my laptop.  I recently purchased a top of desktop with Windows 7.  Can I transfer my file to outlook express on the desktop?

Windows Live Mail is the replacement of the so-called for Outlook Express and Windows Mail for Vista. Personally, I can't stand it and use Thunderbird, but it's my preference, and who knows, you might like WLMail.

Support for Windows Live Mail can be found here.

Others include, Pegasus, Eudora, Opera and much more.

If you go with WLMail, here are the instructions. More detailed information is available in the forum WLMail.

Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For Messages:

Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail. Open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    For addresses:

Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

Open the Contacts list in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

    For the account settings:

In OE: Tools | Accounts, select the account and export it to the desktop. This will be an .iaf file. Copy it to the new computer and WLMail desktop: tools | Accounts and import the settings from the location you saved the.

  • How to send 31MB. WMV file using Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP?

How to send 31MB. WMV file using Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP?

If it is possible please provide step by step procedure.

All attachments add about 33% size thanks to the encoding. This makes your 31MB file around 41 ~ 42 MB. I doubt that your ISP/mail server allows something that big, and of course, I would not be the recipient of a message that size.

Create a YouTube account and put it there. You can make public or private and provide the link to the recipient.

  • Can I import files of Outlook Express mail from a broken PC disk?

The XP System I used for e-mail for years died. The hard drive is OK. My mail is on it. I was wondering if I could import the e-mail folders in Thunderbird on my new PC for Windows 8.1 install the hard drive from the old PC and pointing Thunderbird for mail Outlook Express store on the old drive. Clear Outlook Express isn't alive on the new PC, so the usual instructions "import" seem not to apply. However, what I want to do looks like it should be possible.

You need convert DBX files by using third-party programs. I have a blog post here http://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com.au/2011/07/outlook-express.html with links to undbx. It's free, but a command line tool. If you want a GUI, it is one of the best offer in my experience. http://www.maildev.com/buy/ , but it will cost you.

  • Deleting files in Outlook Express

I use Outlook Express Version 6 and suddenly find that I can't delete emails. Help please!

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and move the messages you want to record off deleted items, and sent items. Locate the OE message store and then close OE.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the files of user OE (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the Deleted Items.dbx and Sent Items.dbx files and delete them. New files will be created automatically when you open OE.

Compact all folders as described below.

To avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

  • Convert .dbx to .pst Outlook files (from outlook express).

    Hey guys,.

I have searched and tried all the suggestions from Google, but they are not the solutions that I can use. I have the entire Outlook Express .dbx folder just 2 files. I need to convert .pst or at least be able to import them into Outlook 2007. I was able to recover only 2 files .dbx from the old computer and am running WIndows 7 Professional with Outlook 2007 on the new computer that I want to get the 2 .dbx files in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Google shows some converters free and paid, and some of those paid have a trial period.
    http://www.Google.com/search?q=dbx+to+eml+converter&RLS=com.Microsoft: en - us & ie = UTF-8 & oe = UTF-8 & startIndex = & startPage = 1

Note that I've never used Outlook or a converter, it's just a guess. When you use OE, you could drag a folder in OE messages in a Windows folder on the desktop. You can then copy this folder on another machine, open it, highlight all messages and drag them into a folder in OE. Or drag them to a folder in Windows Live Mail. I guess if you got messages as eml, you could drag them into an Outlook folder as well.

  • How to merge 2 files of Outlook Express dbx

How can I combine 2 DBX files with the same name (Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP) into one?

PS a Automatic compaction of my sent items box is not a month. So, all of my sent emails disappear from Outlook Express. Save sent messages before the crash was created and is always available. There was no immediate response to the situation, because I was out of town. In the meantime, my family sent messages and created a new Sent Items.dbx file. In order not to lose any of the messages sent, fusion of envoys Sent Items.dbx (recent posts) and Items.bak (older messages) is necessary.

YW. You don't need analysis to all of the e-mail messages. Your attachments will always be analysed by your security program without worrying.

  • I get an error message saying that the mail was not sent when sending a PDF file in Outlook Express.

    Outlook Express 6

    Hello
Recently, if I send a big PDF file via outlook, after attempting to send the files, I get an error message saying that the mail has not been sent. The files remain in the Outbox, but when I check with the recipient, they confirm that they have received the mail! This has only recently begun to happen. Any suggestions? Thank you

Check: File | Work offline and in: reviews | Layout: uncheck the preview pane. Open the Outbox and delete the message.

If that does not create a new box of sent, and sent items.

Follow these steps for the Outbox and sent items after you move the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

With OE closed, find the Outbox.dbx and Sent Items.dbx file and remove them. New files will be created automatically when you open OE.

  • How to recover .bak files in Outlook Express on another computer.

I have Windows XP and Outlook Express on a new computer and I also have the old Outlook Express files .bak (Inbox.bak, Sent.bak, etc.) from an old computer that is no longer usable. I copied them from the trash. How can I recover the old .bak files and place them in the files of OE on the new computer store?

I don't speak of OE v.6 and XP service pack 2

    Thank you!

You can manually import the bak, such files as described here for individual dbx files: www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#imp1

If you have the entire message store to another instance of OE that copy on the desktop and check file properties to make sure that they are not read-only.  And make sure you folders.dbx is present.  Then you can go to file | Import | Messages and point to this directory and import of the old message store.  If the import does not work, or you do not folders.dbx, then you will need to use the manual to import the method above, or DBXpress (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/), which will extract the messages as eml files, which can be imported in a number of other programs, but also the OE.

  • Outlook must MSDOE.dll file of Outlook Express which has been uninstalled years - will not pump to send.

I'm having this problem with Outlook that I can send this e-mail out but cannot receive anything in - not useful.  Various attempts have prompted me to a message that MSOE.dll is not installed.  What I googled on this topic, Outlook uses different files that are related to Outlook Express and is likely the cause.  The MSOE.dll file is at the heart of everything it seems.

I use Windows Vista SP2 and Outlook 2010 through Office Professional 2010, version 14.0.5128.5000.

Email error message I get reads "task ' * address email is removed from the privacy *-receiving ' reported an error (0 x 80040154): ' unknown error 0 x 80040154" "I googled around and found this is related to the MSOE.dll file."  Some Web sites offers things like trying to record using "regsvr32 msoe.dll" but that did not work.

I use Thunderbird for my mail for years, but for various reasons, wanted to switch to Outlook.  I had uninstalled Outlook Express years ago because I do not have additional software installed on my laptop.   I copied the Outlook Express files in the Program Files folder from another computer, but obviously the .dll files are not registered etc, and I don't know how to get Outlook Express works, and then Outlook can be used to send email.

Any ideas?  Should what registry settings I do to get it working?  Thanks in advance...

    -Paul

Tried the 'Safe Mode' and I did not.  I then tried, something I should have tried earlier, to "fix" everything.  Popped in the DVD, and when it was done the work now send very well.   Resource very well... Thank you!!

Power supply on the old PC Windows XP, which uses Outlook Express consumed. I have installed hard disk Drive 'E' on Win7 unit. How can I recover the files OE on Windows7 unit?

Original title: OE for Win 7

    See http://www.pcdon.com/080113OutlookExpress-WindowsLiveMail.html.

Once you have the data in Windows Live Mail, you can choose what e-mail program you prefer and import to Windows Live Mail.

Some e-mail programs can import only an instance of Outlook Express, which is not an option in this case.
