Files won't import from the camera Nikon D3200 in LR5

I just installed LR 5.7.1. I have the camera is connected directly (Nikon D3200). Thumbnails of my camera are available (I have deselected some of the images I want to not import). The folder "Images" by default on my HDD is the selected destination. I click on the "Import" button and the message "importing files...". ' appears and just, hangs nothing of imports (camera battery dies after a few hours). No progress does not display the 'Copy and import photos' progress bar at the top left. Any suggestions?

Try trashing the prefs start by stop smoking 5 Lightroom.

Launch the Finder and click on the menu go to, just by holding down the Option (alt) key. Then go to library > preferences and delete everything about LR5 which means generally that the deletion of the following files:

com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist

com.adobe.Lightroom5LSSharedFileList.plist

Then relaunch Lightroom.

Also check the privileges on the pictures folder or that you import into a subfolder. Right-click on it, and press Cmd + I and in the info dialog box ensure that read and write permissions are enabled.

  • Impossible to import directly from the camera (Nikon D300S) into Windows 10

After I installed Windows 10 import via the USB port directly from the camera does not work. LR reported no files and displays no files on your camera card. Everything worked very well to point 8.1 of Windows.

If I use rather Nikon import demand, it works well with the same destination hard disk.

Checked today. This problem is now fixed in one of the recent updates of windows (this week). Just do a Windows Update, restart your PC as guest to ensure installation, then try again. You will see that the question has now disappeared. There was no Lightroom it was a Windows bug.

  • Is it possible to manually select the images that you want imported from the camera?

original title: SLR digital import question

is there a way to choose which images get imported when importing images from my Canon t2i to my laptop? most of the photos on my camera have been imported already and filled my hard drive, so I transferred to a portable hard drive to expand the memory and allow for me to continue to load/save my photos. I want to download only the pictures at the end of my memory chip, essentially without having to wait a long time for the other 300 + pictures to import the big file for each and the jpg version, accompanying all over again because they are mostly high-quality... (I keep the actual chips with pictures on them as a backup (have not printed on most of the photos I had even for albums, etc. so I don't want to lose anything by deleting after you import each time, because they are all the memories with my husband and 2 children..))

    Something to try...

Connect the device to your PC via a USB cable and turn
on the camera... If open windows... Close them.

According to... to... Start / my computer... the camera can be
    listed as a drive letter...

If_yes_right click on the drive letter and select... Explorer or
Open... This should display the directory of the memory card.
You can copy and paste or drag and drop the files from there to a
    folder on your hard drive.

(The same steps work if you have a media player...
When you go to... Start / desktop media slots...
Drive should be listed under... "Removable disk" with a drive
    letter.)

  • LR Photo import from the camera all of a sudden does not (5.7.1) - says "some import operations were imported not because they could not be read."  Work on another computer and the version on the same computer but not newly LR 4.3 installed LR 5.7.1 cm³ 2

As above, all of a sudden, on a single computer I can not download from the Canon 50 d or 70 D in LR 5.7.1.  It will download on another computer, as well as on this computer in an older version of LR (4.3).  As soon as I put on the computer this morning, I also got an error message that "the catalog named Lightroom ' catalogue Lightroom 5" cannot open another application already opened it. "It's a cold start, so I'm not sure what's going on.

"Could not be read" means that you do not have a WRITE permission in the destination directory, then change your permissions.

"Another application already has its opening" can be solved by removing the .lock file in the same folder as your catalog file.

  • import from the camera-> destination changes often

When I import my camera - I copy into the folder to a disk partitioned - but often Lr who forget and copy instead of my photos folder C drive (or whatever the default Windows folder)

How can I convince Lr that I ever want to copy my photos here - but instead in my custom folder?

    Thank you

You can define and Import Preset that includes the destination location. Unfortunately, some folk report that the import presets are not sticky, so you will need to check that it is set in fact whenever you plan to import.

  • can I import from the camera directly to external hard drive

I recently joined the mac world... before this I used a windows machine and will import directly on my SD card and my destination was my DHM. I did this strategically by date so that everything would be in order... I have my catalog related to my DHM and things were a lot until I started to import and also export it is said that they pictures cannot be read. However when I bind to the new computer, I used the DHM and LR found them without any problem. I thought that maybe my DHM has not been formatted for Mac and that could be the problem... I was wondering if anyone has any input on this subject. I spoke with someone at Adobe on a chat and screen sharing and they imported 400 + photos on my hard drive and said that I was not able to complete the process I described above. Noted that I had to import to HD and then proceed to SMT. Not sure why I would add another step when I could just import to SMT. So now I have 400 + pictures on one day in April which is very incorrect... I was disappointed with this Adobe chat person.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what is your problem, but I will try to answer. You can store your photos anywhere you want including an external hard drive. The key is when you import photos into lightroom, to 'say' where are the pictures. When you start the import process on the right side of the screen to import you set the destination for the import. You can set your internal hard drive or an external hard drive as your location as long as do you at the time of importation. If you choose an external hard drive, the pictures do not have to be placed on your internal drive at the beginning. In addition, your catalog of lightroom (record of changes, not the pictures themselves), can be stored on your internal HD or external HD.

I find the program file for Lightroom 5 and make an icon of office for him. And I would get rid of Lightroom 3. If you open Lightroom 3 and you see images in the old catalog, not the updated one.

  • How can I remove the file name of movies that I import from my camera?

How can I remove the filename of movies that I import from my camera - the film shows the name of the file on the screen and then disappears slowly?  Using Win 7 Pro and Home premium 64-bit.   Thank you.

Edition - shows only upward on one of the 2 computers I have / use.  Any movie file I import was that if camera, animation or imported from youtube.  All formats - slight differences in size, fonts and the location.

Hi and thanks... Videos out of my camera I'm just drag and drop to the desktop.  They are avi - cam is a Canon about a year.  Others are .mov of 3D software I use - Cinema 4 d. I save animation software in the appropriate folder.   Youtube videos are made with YOutube Video Downloader and files are for most .flv but others come too.

All of these files open when doubleclicked and the name of the file is very large print at the bottom of the screen may be 4 seconds then fades.  I've not edited somehow - they are the first "raw" video camera or animation software.

It is not consistent, but especially it happens only on one machine - Win 7 Pro with all the updates.

    Thank you.

I suspect the media player you use poster
the file name. Check the properties/preferences of your
Media player to see if you can change a setting.

For example, VLC displays the name of the file... and you
can go to... Tools / preferences / All / video...

Scroll down to and uncheck 'Show Media title on Video'... / Save.

The next time that VLC is started the video title should not be displayed.

  • Import and delete the photos from the camera

The link you gave is not useful. I don't want to use the application Windows 8 photos. All I want to do is to plug my camera and have pictures, transfer in a folder of my title and delete the photo from my camera. It's an ability that were available in Windows 7 and not available in Windows 8. I am currently using Dropbox and it is slow and uses tons of data to my hotspot.

    Thank you!

    Hello Joe,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have questions, import and delete the photos from the camera. We are happy to help you in the matter of fixing.

You can check the below link to import photos from the camera.

    1. First, connect your digital camera, and press the Power On button. Windows 8, which will detect the camera and will install the appropriate drivers.
    2. After the driver installation is complete, the AutoPlay menu appears.
    3. Select the option import pictures using Windows.
    4. In the lower right corner of the screen, a small window asking if you want to mark photos will appear. You can type a general images you want to import. Tags can be very useful to organize and find your photos.
    5. If you do not want to insert a tag just leave this space empty and click Import.
    6. If you want to customize the import settings, click the Options button. Now you can change the following settings: where pictures import them (the default folder is pictures - if you want another folder, click Browse and select or create this folder), the name of the folder (by default the name of the folder will be the date when the images are imported over the tag you entered) and the file naming convention.
    7. When you are finished, click the OK button. These settings apply to all the photos you want to import in the future.
    8. After you click import, Windows 8 starts to move all your photos.  If you want the pictures to be removed from your camera once the import process is completed, click the Delete after import check box.
    9. Once the process is complete, start Windows Photo Gallery and you will be able to see all the photos that have been imported.
    10. Now, turn your unit off and unplug the cable to connect to your PC.

If this does not help then, try the steps below to get the images from the camera.

    1. Go in computer.
    2. You will find the camera under portable device or removable devices.
    3. Double-click on this unit and you can copy and paste from this location and import it onto your computer.

I hope this helps. Otherwise, feel free to write us back for assistance.

Import photos to fix or mixture doesn't seem to work in the film. The photos are raw shot with nik0n d800 imported into the camera from an sd card

    Hello!

Mix and Fix do not support the raw file format. Please try to download as a. JPEG. However, the support of raw files is an excellent idea for a future feature! If you do not want to share this idea with the team, press the icon of the product in the upper left of the application, and then click "give us your comments. I would like to know if I can help with anything else!

    See you soon

  • How can I sync 2 sony AVCHD images from the camera on the "date" as a prelude and import it in first pro?

I have 2 sony camera popular with the AVCHD file structure. The two cameras are the same. How can I sync 2 sony AVCHD images from the camera on the "date" as a prelude and import it in first pro? Im working with 6.0

Now I see the date taken in the import screen until I click "ingest". When in the trash, this option is there, but no metadata in there. It is therefore impossible to import images from two cameras and have these sorted.

How can I get this sorted out before, so I can export for the first?

Thank you. Tom van den Dool

Sorry, you can not do as a prelude. You can request a feature here: http://adobe.ly/feature_request

  • I can't import my pictures from the camera?

I can't import my pictures from the camera into Adobe Revel. I import before, but now a cookie arrives. The cookie says impossible to import JPEG files. How can I change a setting for my photos of the camera can be imported?

This looks like a known limit with how the operating system allows access to the memory card in your camera.  . If you connect your device to your computer via the USB port, please instead use a card reader, or copy the photos on your hard drive first and import from there.

  • Code received the error 80004005 When you try to import photos and video from the camera in Windows Live Photo Gallery.

Spent several hours in technical support with gun tries to resolve to not be able to download pictures from the camera to my Win XP computer.   Usually the computer detects the camera and demand "How would you import pictures?" and the list of shows in one window.   We don't get any list in this window, but only managed to fill the window briefly for WLPG to detect the photos and video, but when we went to import, we received the 8004005 error.   Thereafter, things have regressed, and we're back to not get any answer computer saying that it detects pictures or video - nothing.   But back to square one.

There are two issues here - likely related: unable to import photos and videos and the 80004005 error.   Who came first and is there cause and effect here, and which way should we go?  Inquiring minds want to know - and being able to import photos and video of the camera Canon Powershot A3100IS again.

After hours Technical Support Canon was completely blocked and indicated that it was probably an OS problem with my computer.

Thanks for all your great suggestions.    I finally solve the problem, but I don't know exactly what fixed it.   I ended up running CCleaner (latest version) and make a 'windows', 'applications' and cleaning of "registry".   This needed a re-boot, and when I rebooted, it's when I could finally download the pictures from the camera.    Not exactly what fixed the problem, but there may be here spirits who may be able to say, ' Yes, with blah, blah, blah, you did...» ».

As far as I know that is a lot of sterile technical support hours and re - install the software and then, finally, runing CCleaner paid off.    I will record your information in case I need it in the future... Thanks again.

Something like GSpot to understand that one.

  • Can AE copy a good imported from the library of cloud in the folder that the file of the project resides in?

Currently, it seems any assets that you import from the library is saved in your user and not side by side with the project file. First will create a folder "CC libraries downloads" which makes much more sense...

    Or am I wrong?

    Thank you

    Ryan

In a future update, we intend to make the location to which the library assets are recorded an option defined by the user.
