I've just updated to LR5.  I also have a new camera.  Nikon D800.  Try importing directly (from the camera) in LR.  But without success. Get the following message.  "The files are a camera which is not recognized by the raw format support in Ligh.

  The camera you have is compatible with the latest version of Lightroom, which is Lightroom 6/CC.

  You can use the DNG Converter, converts images and then import them into DNG in Lightroom.

  If you don't want to upgrade, you can download the current DNG Converter and convert the NEF files to DNG before importing the DNG files.

  In the future, I strongly suggest that you just use Lightroom to import your images. It works well. There is no need whatsoever to use Nikon Transfer. Is there any reason not to use.

  No problem with Nikon Transfer, providing you up-to-date on a regular basis. It is part of NikonViewNX2 which is regularly updated to include new Nikon cameras. Update of Nikon will notify you of new updates. I use to transfer files nave of cameras D70, D100, D200, D300, D3, D700, D7000, D7100, D800 and D800E as I had them for years. I like it because it of fast, allows me to include copyright data and profile data he copies, and it will also rename it if you wish. They are then ready to be imported into LR.

  My advice is NEVER use the import of LRs. IME process it has never worked well, even when the update.

  Looks like you may not have the latest version of Lightroom as the Canon 5 d R raw files are supported in Lightroom 6.0 and above (not in previous versions)

  Honestly, there are some things VERY little redundant/useless... basically only the old log files (by default, retains the last 4 newspapers).

  I guess it would print correctly from other photo editing and look at software, but haven't checked that yet is not sure.

  Double check your cable and make sure it is not damaged.

  Just FYI, you must follow the below mentioned way to remove manually the drivers SG 2 and let it automatically reinstall the drivers.

  Click Start > type in devmgmt.msc in the search box, press enter > right click on the printer drivers in the device list and click on uninstall. And restart the computer.

  Please do this and share it if you are still unable through!
