Usually, when I placed an .ai file, the background is white, and when I place a .eps file, the background is transparent.   If you choose 'Show the Options' on placing your file, you will see the dialog box has an option "transparent background".

• My 'new tab' button, the ctrl + T and go to file, new tab does not work

  When I click to open a new tab, it does not open. If I do ctrl + T, it will not open a new tab. If I go to folder and select the new tab, it will not open a new tab. My database (excel file converted into a tabulated TXT file) has some entries where there must be a space before or after the word.  And the example is "$1000,00 _" with the reprsenting _ where the space will be.  Of course when it is brought in ID as a data merge, these areas seem to be deleted.  Is there a way so that it can keep these spaces?

  When you select or update your data source, click "View options" in the dialog box. Then check the box to preserve the spaces in the data source.

• File Adobe Stock vector keeps pixellisant when placed in InDesign

  I bought this vector AI on Adobe Stock. Works beautifully in Illustrator (I made a few changes), and that you want to place in InDesign for a poster, but it horribly pixelated that I drag from one program to the other, except in the libraries of CC and drop, save under, pdf, psd or png before placing them. Re-uploaded original version unedited. Don't look at what, the image is perfect until it is opened in InDesign. Then she rasterizes to extreme levels. It seems there will be no change in the quality of resolution or image when I check vital signs. I have not had this problem before. Thanks for any help.

  If the placed graphic is vector pure without transparency applied after you bought it, it should appear as pixelated when opened in an exported PDF/X-4 document.

  Unless:

  You rasterizes the vector information through the flattening of transparencies may on export to PDF.

  And you did not use the standard preset PDF/X-4. Maybe you have exported to a PDF format requiring its flattening of transparency.

  Try the following:

  Create a new document.

  Place the image on a blank page by using the set command.

  Do not use a CC library this time.

  Export page in PDF/X-4 (with NO downsampling; you must change the default settings for this).

  Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro or Adobe Reader.

  Zoom to more than 1000% and make a screenshot of part of the graph that should be as a vector.

  If you try to copy the pixels more then a layer you use copy merged copy not right. Copy copies pixels in the selected area in the active layer of the target, fusion copies copies of the composite.

  CTRL + C = copy

  Shift + Ctrl + C - copy merged
