Find album info problem

Medai player 12, when I right click on a song to find album information, it is considered to be an album, it's the results of the research have artist and album (normally it is artist, album, and song). If I click to change side of the end, not just info of this song, some other songs in the same folder get changed and listed under the same album. I don't think that this problem is caused by the corruption of database of the library, because it doesn't happen that some of the songs, others are OK. I moved the songs promblem to another computer and the problem persists. I think somehow the media player have problems recogonizing these songs but I'm not sure.

Hi Delphinium,

Given that the problem persists, try the following steps to reregister the files related to Windows Media Player and check if it helps.

To do this, follow the steps below.

a. click on Start in the search bar to start, type in cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

b. at the command prompt

Type regsvr32 wmp.dll, and then press ENTER.

Type regsvr32 jscript.dll, and then press enter

Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll, and then press enter

Restart the computer and check if the problem is resolved.

This problem can also occur if you try to songs using third party, ripping software rip.

You can also try to add album art manually the problematic songs.

  • "Find Album Info" script in Windows Media Player 12 error

Hi, a problem with WMP 12. The "Find Album Info" function does not work. All goes well until you click Finish to confirm that you have found the information from the album right when the window comes up saying there is a Script error. Then I can only exit by pressing on cancel without updating music files. This has only started happening recently. I tried unsuccessfully to restore music library. Can anyone help?

Thanks for the answers and information. I found a solution by chance more than anything else. Had tried library of reconstruction, but did not work.

When the "Find Album Info" window is open it is script in the upper left corner:
    ISP. Music.metaservices.Microsoft.com

If you point it cursor on that he "Refresh" appears, click the script and it refreshes the window just like clicking Refresh on I.E. This treatment cures the problem, if it doesn't first discount a few time a couple of times and it does not work. In addition, so far, has been recurring problem.

I hope it works for you Widgeon3.

  • Windows Media Player 11 does not show my CD playlist automatically; "Find Album Info" in library works, if...

Hello and thank you for reading my post.

I just configured Windows Media Player (WMP) 11 after that he downloaded automatically by Microsoft Update and is surprised that, when I insert a CD purchased in the store in one (1) of my two 2 CD drives, he would recognize that a CD is here and with the right number and durations of his songs, but it would NOT automatically identify the CD and these songs.

I found that I could get this information by manually entering the library (even if I don't permanently transfer the tracks on my hard drive at all), right-clicking on a tracks is on the air and by selecting Find Album Info... a few steps after that and all is filled in the playback in WMP, but the NEXT CD requires the same steps for ITS information appear here as well.

Do you have any ideas about this, please?  I think I checked all the right boxes, but would walk by them with you gladly to the case where.

    Thank you very much!

    Sincerely, Bram Weiser

PS My system is Windows XP Home Edition SP3.  If you need more specific information/settings, please let me know.  Thank you very much!

    I think I'm something...

    bramweiser-do you use IE6?

    Edit:

    -close wmp
    -go to internet explorer6 > tools > options > advanced > http1.1 settings > uncheck 2 boxes below.
    Press ok.
-now insert your CD/media and that's it!

I tried to reset the library, are most of the songs/music to AAC (iTunes, no DRM) format.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It eventually will come back so I don't know if it is a bug or just design.

    Thank you, in advance.

    Hello

    1. are you able to update the information of the album for other types of files?

Try to read the file in the clean boot state and then update the info from the album and check.

  • WMP gets script errors by using some of the dialog boxes in "find album info".

I sailed on the "fix it" MS and found one of the correction as tools that seemed appropriate, this one:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic/

I ran and it said that jscript and vbscript for registration was corrupted,
and he advised me to reset the WMP library.

I allowed him to fix these items, rebooted the PC and before anything else.
Re-entered the site and ran the same fix - it new tool.

Guess what?  He finds the same two errors and offered to fix them again.

These tools do not work for WMP 11 XP SP3?

    Thanks for any info.

The error real jscript in WMP 11 was fixed by deleting cache, cookies and favorite Web sites
data saved in IE8.  Once this is done, WMP was very good.

Perhaps the "fix - it" tool should be updated in order to study this possibility.

  • Media Player - CD - find Album Info - always offline when you use Wifi

I mainly use the Wifi with my computer. When I go to rip a CD information does not automatically like it does when I use a LAN cable. I get a pop-up asking if I want to go online - how to make WMP to recognize that I'm already online? It probably isn't a setting of WMP but some more global setting which is the origin of the problem, but if it can't be stopped, he'd save me a lot of frustration. Also, as soon as I activate the option online go - another popup box appears looking to enable a modem dial-up (which I don't have and never had with this computer) - but it can help to diagnose the problem.

My system is updated, Windows VISTA sp2, WMP11.  This problem just started today, I've been using WMP for a long time, and it generally works very well.

Is this a problem with Windows Media Player or Internet Explorer?

Can this be set in the settings or tools?

I did some checking and find the info from the album works in WMP in another user profile.  I had yet to find some samples of original music which was installed with WMP and album info works on these, located in public folders and not the user specific files or my personal music files.

Try to clear the temporary Internet files and the Cookies of Internet Explorer. If this does not help, try to reset the Internet Explorer settings, through the Advanced of the Internet Options page in the Panel. Tim Baets

  • Windows media player 'find album information '.

Earlier this week the 'Find album information' feature stop working.  Display only the computers at home and at work

"Server Error" "500 internal server error." "There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed."

I have this problem on three computers that are running windows 7 and a Tablet under windows 8.  This function works perfectly before this week.  I thought it might be a problem with the server "fai.music.metaservices.microsoft.com", but after a week, the problem is still there.

Is this a problem with the end of Microsoft servers, or did a recent update screw up everything?

I can't even service that would allow me to manually enter album information.

    VERY FRUSTRATING.
