  I recently bought for laptop HP ENVY 17-n013na .  It came with Windows 8.1. I have to install Windows 7. Unfortunately, the legacy in BIOS boot option does not work for me. Here is detailed information:

  BIOS version: F.04 Rev 5.0

  I tried updating to the latest version of the BIOS on the Support site.

  To activate the option to boot legacy, I followed the following steps:

  • Entered, BIOS configuration utility
  • Go to the System Configuration
  • > Boot options
  • Changed the setting to the Legacy Support on " Enabled"
  • F10 - save changes & exit

  Now, after the restart, if I go once more, configuration of the BIOS Legacy Support is set to disabled. Whenever I have change to active BIOS, Save & Exit, it is up to the people with reduced mobility. Because of that I can't run the installer of Windows 7 DVD.

  Please provide any help & suggestions.

  At this pc 64-bit of windows 7 during approximately 3 years, all power options worked well. I set it up to show the screensaver after 10 minutes and then turn off the monitors after 20 minutes and then sleep after 30 minutes. Always worked. Eve of the keyboard worked.
