Find my iPhone (MacBook Pro)

My Macbook pro has been stolen. I used find my iPhone and the computer was off. I put the "notify me when it is recognized. After a few days, he was always off so I put the "lock". Last night, I got the email that says

"The Mac has been blocked 22:52 December 21, 2015." If you retrieve your Mac, unlock using the access code that you created at the time where you locked. »

It does not show a place, if it should show a place even for a locked computer?

Thank you!

Hi cjedwards,

Sorry to hear that your MacBook Pro has been stolen. I hope that report you it to the police.

Regarding the location, see If your Mac is lost or stolen - Apple Support

Lock your Mac
You can use find my Mac remotely lock your Mac with an access code. Alternatively, you can display a message on its screen. If you lock your Mac, you will not be able to follow.

However, iCloud: use lost Mode

States:

You can lock a Mac or an iOS 5 device, but you cannot follow him. If you lock a Mac, you can not locate if it's not close to a WiFi network used previously, and you will not be able to remotely wipe.

Hope you find.

I pulled out of Installer and is went on the forums and found a similar problem with an OfficeJet 6700. I followed the instructions given to the downloaded drivers from Apple. I could then see the printer online... briefly. I even hit print, got 12% in the printing process, but it died on me (not printed). I restarted/rebooted everything (printer, macbook pro, computer windows laptop and router) and no dice. I added the printer manually on the mac using the IP address, and I can see it. Hi, I have recently moved all my data on a hard drive external but everything to even show a large audio libraries and picture about this Mac.

If you migrated an iPhoto library to Photos and you want to stop using iPhoto, please remove the iPhoto library. Usually, it would be in the subfolder images of your home folder. Back up all data before making any changes.

    Hi iambjan,

I understand that your MacBook Pro has been lost by the intermediary of find my Mac mode. Fortunately, you can go to the off mode lost through the steps described below.

You can disable the lost Mode by entering the password of the device, or by following the steps below. Alternatively, you can follow the steps below to change the details displayed on your lost device.

Note: If your credit cards and debit to pay Apple have been suspended because you put your iPhone in lost Mode, when you disable lost Mode and reconnect to iCloud, you can continue using your cards.

    1. Go to find my iPhone on iCloud.com.

If you don't find my iPhone on iCloud.com, your account has fair access to the web features only iCloud. To access find my iPhone and other iCloud features, set up on your device iOS or Mac iCloud.

    2. Click on all devices, and then select the device that is lost.

    3. Click on lost Mode, then change the information or lost the stop Mode.

If you cannot use lost fashion as find my iPhone is not configured on your lost device, see the article by Apple Support If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is lost or stolen.

  • I can't paste the 6 Iphone to MacBook Pro

    Hello

I tried to take advantage of the universal and text clipboard copied MacBook Pro Safari and pasted into the Iphone 6 without any problem, but I just couldn't do it the other way. Nothing of what I have copy to iphone be transferred to Mac for the collage. Transfers are on both devices, Bluetooth and Wi - Fi.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi, FCB877!

Thank you for reaching out by Apple Support communities. Based on your post, I see that you are trying to use the universal Clipboard; It works if you copy on your Mac and paste on your iPhone, but can find copy on the iPhone do not stick to the Mac. I know this is a very typical practice and want to help makes sure that it works in two ways!

Since it runs Mac to iPhone, looks like you have everything set as described in the following article: macOS Sierra: copy and paste between devices

The article does indicate that the copied information is available for a short period on the other device, so the first thing that I would say if you are having problems, iPhone copy and paste to the Mac, is that you wait long to do this; try to copy the iPhone and stick right away for the Mac. If you can't copy and paste even with almost immediate timing, try the following:

    1. Restart your Mac by clicking on the menu Apple  and choice of restarting... in the drop-down menu. Then restart the iPhone, as described here: restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch

Test the copy and paste functionality

    2. See if this works from the iPhone to the computer, even if your Mac is started in safe mode. Information about safe mode and the startup can be found here: try safe mode if your Mac does not start-up

Even if the title of the article is not specific to your question, safe mode is always a good step to take. It runs a scan of your system when you start and then disables some software and processes that might cause interference. Note how to copy / paste works in safe mode, and then restart and try again.

    3. Try in another Mac user account. This article provides information on how this can be a useful step and how to create a new user account: How to test a question in another account on your Mac user

  • Finder crashing and causing repeatedly crashes on Macbook Pro

I use a Macbook Pro retina 15 "and using OS X El Capitan, verion 10.11.5.

After a recent transfer of photos from my iPhone to iPhoto, to close iPhoto, the icon Finder keeps 'jump' the top down and the same error repeatedly, showing in the dialog in the middle of the screen (it flashes until disappears, flashes up, disappears several times without end):

It is not possible to click on one of the options in the dialog box. This caused other problems now. If I open all the Apps then they crash instantly, or open for about 10-15 seconds before crashing and flashing error up to 'preferences system closed unexpectedly' report etc. Non-Apple apps (for example MS Word/Powerpoint) survive longer opening. If I try to open system preferences or the System State and then they all have two crash as well. So basically, other than documents such as PDFs or pictures, everything I opened crashes a few seconds to open. I restarted the Mac - regular options still appear to stop down and restart by pressing the power button. I tried the tips on other forums, but the steps they describe require opening applications or programs that simply plant when I opened (e.g. try opening the Terminal).

If I briefly to open an App and then reappear items on my desktop. If there is no apps temporarily only open then the contents of the Office disappears.

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

    Hi all

A year ago, I have connected my iPhone sisters 5s (via usb cable) to my macbook pro to share some photo files. Recently, she has updated his iPhone and now all its data is missing.  She said that if she uses a given address, it will be able to find backups of shared files, and also what she had on her phone, i.e. missing data on my macbook pro. I have no idea if this is possible. If so, how would we get those files back ups?

iOS9 on a mobile device requires iTunes 12.3 or higher, which in turn requires a computer running OSX 10.8.5 or higher.  Update of the system only checks the updates for the current version of the system you run, but that itself can be updated.  It may or may not be possible to upgrade your computer to the system requirements. Find your computer on the web site of http://www.everymac.com model and near the bottom of the specification of the system section, he will tell what versions of the operating system, it is able to run. If you can not run a newer system, you will not be able to sync this phone to your current computer. If she can run 10.8.5 or higher, you can either buy a download for Apple OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion code online, or you can try to install the free El Capitan OSX 10.11.  El Capitan can run slower on older machines and require the additional purchase of RAM.  Making a big jump in versions of system is also more likely to affect the old software.

  • FaceTime and Messages "not responding" MacBook Pro but works on iPhone Plus 6 and 3 Mini iPad

In January, I sent a text message with a very large number of numbers through Messages on the Macbook Pro.  Since then, it will be not open without the reel spinning of Messages and FaceTime, the system fan going at top speed and the computer slows down considerably until I Force Quit or other software.  I have zero problems on the iPhone or iPad with either.

I've already removed the library of Messages and attachments, and this seems to have actually exacerbated the problem.

I did a complete reinstallation of the operating system (El Capitan), and it had zero effect.

My guess is that these two very large text messages are the culprits, and I can't understand how to reset all messages.  I'm happy to delete all, if I can get somehow my Macbook to recognize what has happened.  Otherwise, I am at my wits end, trying to get these two applications to work again.  I'm quite the newbie, so please refer to measures as simply as possible.  (Btw - the texts were a legitimate response to a follow-up request, and I hoped just don't have to send them all individually in case of FAILURE)

Thanks for any help you can offer, Apple!
