Find/replace in the hyperlinks?

Background:

I'm working on an academic paper of the Word conversion to ePub. There are hundreds of hyperlinks in the document.

Export to ePub fails, and after research, I see that the problem is ampersands in hyperlinks 151. (by ) http://www.pigsgourdsandwikis.com/2010/07/hyperlink-causes-InDesign-export-to.html ).

I used Find to find all ampersands when the character style is the hypertext link and replace it with (p-twentysix) 26%.

Export to ePub still does not work. After you change the partial XHTML file, I see that search and replace is change the text displayed in the hyperlink, but it does not change the actual link stored in the hyperlinks Panel.

Or, for another way, the State is the text that appears in InDesign http://www.site.com/ %26 foo.html, but the text that appears in the hyperlinks Panel is always http://www.site.com/ foo.html &

Question:

Is there a way to:

-change overall an ampersand stored in the hyperlinks?

or

-InDesign to modify the hyperlink to the current text of the force

I tried the convert URL of command hyperlinks, but it seems that this only affects the URL that isn't already hyperlinks

Thanks in advance

Bill

  • Find/replace highlights the bad code

    Hi, if you use find it normal and the search for specific text in my AS3 class file, it highlights the right position where he finds corresponding text, but when I use the search/replace completely it messes up, it highlights the text wrong in my code, but it displays the correct position in the Find/Replace window. Is there a way to fix this, or is this a known bug? See attached screenshot.

    Hello

    Thanks for sharing the file.

    The problem is with the end of Line (EOL) character. The file uses a rating of CR at the end of his LIFE and has been used in Mac OS 9 and Mac OS 9 version. When a file is created using one of these versions of Mac OS and then the EOL character would be CR which is now obsolete and is not recognized by many modern text editors.

    If the EOL is LF or CR | LF then search and replace will work as expected in Flash CC.

    You can change the end of LIFE of the file to open and save the file in Wordpad that will change the EOL to CR | LF.

    Hope this information helps you solve your problem.

    Thank you!

  • Batch find replace in the selected text?

    I'm on Windows using DW CC 10.

    I want to be able to select a block of text and replace several characters it contains both.

    For example: select the channel CAT and replace the C and T with a B and M.

    I can do that in an entire document by following these instructions reformatting of files in Dreamweaver: series of files (search and replace) .dwr batch consecutively, but when I change the value of setUpFindReplace() of document selectedText searchWhat and run the command, only the first searchstring (the C in the example above) is changed so that the T is not replaced. I have run the command a second time to replace the second string. Here is the code I use:

    // JavaScript Document
    function canAcceptCommand() {
        return true;
    }

    function commandButtons() {
        return new Array("Go!", "doIt()", "Cancel", "window.close()");
    }

    function doIt() {

        dreamweaver.setUpFindReplace({
            searchString: "C",
            replaceString: "B",
            searchWhat: "selectedText",
            searchSource: true,
            useRegularExpressions: false
        });
        dreamweaver.replaceAll();

        dreamweaver.setUpFindReplace({
            searchString: "T",
            replaceString: "M",
            searchWhat: "selectedText",
            searchSource: true,
            useRegularExpressions: false
        });
        dreamweaver.replaceAll();

        window.close();
    }

    Thank you!

    This is how works "Selected Text", however.  It limits the search to just that area of highlighted text and nothing more.

    If you want to F & are the entire document,

    Find at: Current document.

    Research: Source code

    Find:     CAT

    Replace: BAM;

  • can I find/replace the leader tab character?

    I have a Word document that I'm slope in ID and there are a lot of different tab with the leaders of the dot stops. The dot leaders are a simple point, but I want not a 'space-point' in order to spread them out more.

    I can't understand how to find a tab with a character specific point leader and change to another - if it was a uniform set of rules of text I want to make a Style with what I wanted and find/replace all, the problem is, is that there are a few pieces of text with two tabs three and four as well as "BOLD" and regularly mixed in so I have to make a Style for all versions of tab stops and it's longer than I want to take with it.

    So, is it possible to change only the leader? What is Grep something?

    I think that may have to be scripted?

    However, you can do a search for "^ t".

    And increase the tracking/kerning in the change format (200 should do)

    Maybe do a replace/find so you can't change something unexpectedly.

  • How to find and replace in the Javascript code?

    Hi all!

    I hope that this proves to be an easy question! We have recently updated several forms (about 50 of them) to change a set of names of fields by the requirements of the customer. However, it turns out that one of these fields is a key field and it is referenced in one or more places of JavaScript in the PDF.

    I would choose the option to edit all of the scripts that would give me a large document with all the Javascript code in the PDF in Acrobat 6. I could then do a find/replace on the code and save it. Now, using Acrobat 9 Pro, I don't know something like that. Please don't tell me that I have to search in all fields in different form and PDF objects to find all the pieces of script related to objects or events! I'm really, really hoping that there is an easier way to do it from right now, I'm ideas and really do not want to have to sift through all the objects in more than 50 PDF documents.

    Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction!

    Go to the Advanced section - Document Processing - Edit Document JavaScripts...

  • Application updates in bold and in italics while doing a search/replace on the contents of merged data

    Hello
    Wonder kind knowledgeable people if you can help me with a question find/replace.

    I'm doing a fusion of data of book content in indesign, where my data merge file is a simple text csv file that is delimited by tabs. I have two things (almost like here) I would like to make to specific parts of the text, but do not know how to achieve this.

    -First of all, I would like to preserve the words/phrases of form 'italic', but it's obviously lost in a csv file.  Is there anyway that I can mark these words so a search/replace can make this italic of the word.  Im hoping that there is a solution that looks something like this;
    for example.  Content of the book is 'the italics of the word needs to be adjusted.
    Original content is modified to be "the word $Italic $ $ needs to be adjusted", so that a dollar sign encapsulates the word in italics.
    Then I am able to merge data from the csv file and somehow make a search/replace words/phrases that are wrapped by the dollar sign.  So, do a find/replace all the words/phrases that satisfy this condition and then apply italic to all the words between the dollar signs.

    -My other question is that I use the ' |' character in my text to determine paragraph separators.  I then do a find/replace after you import the text to replace all occurrences of ' |' for the paragraph separator (a kind of symbol $, a representative character in the menu drop down to the right of the change to). It works fine, but I would like to make a "BOLD" format paragraph separator so that it can better distinguish the separation of text sections.

    But this is different from my problem "italic" above, since I am trying to apply a "BOLD" format to the character "change to", rather than something that exists in my original csv.

    Hope I think, but I'd be happy to provide you with screenshots etc. (when I get home at )

    two solutions.

    for the solution of italics, I would say that the OP has answered his own question with one exception - do not use the symbols dollar, instead use = or another character that is not reserved by GREP.

    the solution I would use for italics would be a GREP search once the merger completed. Take a look at the picture to see what I did.

    the second solution: styles GREP.

    This means that the text will have a paragraph style are entrusted to him. make a style and character called "BOLD" in this style, the only thing to change is located in basic character formats, set the bold font style. might even make the character another example cyan color is more easily strucure.

    Then go to the paragraph style options, click on GREP styles and correspond to the following screengrab

    the advantage with a GREP style is that once the vertical bar (|) is replaced, the GREP style bold is lost; and that means less post processing and not needing a second search of the text - it's all living.

  • I'm looking for links Hypertext in find/replace the dialogue (without applying a character style).

    I have 7000 hyperlinks in my document, with different character styles ("italic", "bold" and "italic +"BOLD""). I need to apply the blue color to each of them. If I ask a new character style "hyperlink" to all, I'll lose my formatting.

    Is there a way to find hyperlinks (for themselves, not their format) dialog find/replace in order to create and apply 4 different character styles ('hyperlink_regular', 'hyperlink_bold', 'hyperlink_italic' and ' hyperlink_bold + italic")?

  • How do I find/recover a file deleted from a move/replace when the Recycle Bin is bypassed?

    Recently, I made a search for particular file template.  The Find dialog box, I selected all files returned by the search and trained in a backup folder.  Unfortunately, there were a few files with the same name and I selected by error "Replace" and the particular file I was interested has been moved or deleted.  I thought I was doing a copy, but the source files have been deleted.  I tried to run several file recovery programs, none of them found the files that have been deleted as a result of this move/replace operation (apparently the Recycle Bin is bypassed for this operation).  I know that the directory they are found, but the program is not all the deleted files in these directories.  Help!

    I recreated this scenario in Windows 7 with the same result.  How these files are deleted, and how to find them?

    Hi Jimstaff,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    Try to face a return of the folder that contains the files now and then try to restore to a previous version.

    Whenever a system restore point is created for your computer, an older version of each file is created. You can try to right click on this particular and select restore to the previous version. You may get different dates, which you can restore back.

    Try this if you have restore points created for folders. If this isn't the case, then there is no way how you can recover these files.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • In CC 2015.4 I can not find my trusty option 'New Destination of the hyperlink'

    Hello

    Please see the screenshot below.

    The updating of CC 2015.4, suddenly the option 'New Destination of the hyperlink' which appears in my context menu under "Interactive" simply disappeared. In general, I surligner highlight the text in the frame, then right-click on it to reveal the menu, then scroll to the "Interactive" submenu and select 'New Destination of the hyperlink' (see the part CS6 2014 screen captures below). I do then highlight a text anchor Tech. Finally, I select other text in the document and make a hyperlink to anchor text, I just created. I now spent 90 minutes in the options of CC 2015.4 trying to find these (or new?) to create a new destination for the hyperlink (a text anchor), with no chance inside the app (even impossible to find another way to do it) and no luck on online forums. Anyone can solve this for me?

    Thank you

    It is in the hyperlinks Panel menu. It is in the Panel menu cross-references.

    It is missing from the context menu (someone forgot it?)

    You can add a keyboard shortcut: Edit > keyboard shortcuts > product area: Panel Menus > links: New Destination of the hyperlink.
